Pascale was a bit appalled to wake up that morning to a feisty array of wind gusts, and her body shuddered as she escaped the flat lands and to reside comfortably amongst the trees. Being around the trees meant a better wind resistance, but now she had to deal with leaves falling all around and on top of her. Even if their colors and shapes were distracting, they were incredibly beautiful at the same time. But she did hate how they got stuck in her hair. Every time she shook them off more would soon arrive, and the shakes and wiggles were getting a bit tiring! She was hardly in shape for that!
As she made her way deeply into the forest, she couldn't help but notice how many leaves were actually falling, and how fast! Was winter seriously approaching? This would be her first winter on her own, and in truth she had no idea how to handle it. A warmer coat seemed to be growing in for preparation, so she was thankful that her body was at least responding. But how would she eat and live? If anything, she'd scurry back home if it was getting THAT bad. But yosh, she wouldn't give up that easily!
Despite the adulthood stresses, she was totally excited for the snow to fall. She wanted to enjoy the snow in its entirety, and never complain if it got too cold or massive. Everything would look so pristine and shiny, and she would blend in quite nicely with those colors.
But for now... she was clashing rather horribly with the demanding winds and leaves! "Arrg, does it ever stop!" she then huddled herself by a tree, and wondered if a cave or something was near. Nature had a nasty way of blowing the cold season in, and it literally meant pushing things off of trees, and fast!

To say it was gusty outside was a bit of an understatement. Autumn was in the air and the cool touch of winter was beginning to make its presence know upon the air; the warmth of summer was swiftly losing a battle it could never win and today the element cried out in despair. Fall was here and it was readily making itself known!
The large mare had abandoned the idea of flight; the weather had deteriorated far too much for the mare to even think about going air born. Though she was graced with a heavier weight and a second set of wings for additional stabilization, Kaiya was no fool; the wind was far superior to her skills and she wasn't about to tempt the wrath of mother nature. If the wind spirits were so feisty she wasn't going to provoke their anger by showing such disrespect.
Pausing now and then, the hodge-podged mare was making slow progress through the woods. Though the trees offered some protection from the wind they also offered gifts of leaves; toys for the wind to toss around and entangle amidst the finer hairs of more land bound creatures. If she wasn't getting her hair caught in low-lying branches or getting smacked in the face by the wind itself, Kaiya found her own hairs sprinkled with leaves and fine twigs picked up by the gusts of the day. There really was no use fighting the fate of the day. . . .
All anyone could do was wait for the wind to calm.
Head lowered, hair a wind-blown mess and the occasional loose feather being torn form her more fragile set of wings, Kaiya trudged onward. Step by step, the angeni didn't expect to run in to company. Many forest creatures had found themselves comfortable burrows or had long gone in to a state of hibernation for the winter world to come; it was oddly quiet out in the kawani lands. . .
Two ears pricked as a voice cried out. The wind swept most of the words away but what little she heard sounded upset and angry! Instantly on the alert, Kaiya changed her walk in to a canter as she bolted forward, silver and gold eyes narrowing in concentration. Perhaps someone was in danger or in need of assistance? Whatever the case, Kaiya wasn't about to ignore a potential cry for help!
A flash of blond swirling in the wind caused Kaiya to do a double take; sure enough, half hidden by the fall shadows and colours of the woods she found a mare cuddled up against a tree. A pretty thing, albeit disheveled and covered in leaves, but first glance she looked just fine! Two leather wings were also present along her back, and Kaiya couldn't help but assume on first look she were some sort of kalona or mutant; best be on her guard, of course, but there was no stain of blood on the air and no other creature present.
If anyone had cried out it must have been her. . . . or something that had been scared off by the she-kalona herself! "Are you quite alright?" Kaiya spoke as she pushed herself out of the surrounding foliage, not at all intimidated or frightened. Alert, yes, but she worked everyday with creatures of Pascale's variety. . . . She'd find out soon enough just what sort of tempered mare she was dealing with! "I had heard someone cry out. . . ." She added lightly as way of explanation; not exactly the most typical conversation starter but Kaiya wanted to be sure there wasn't an ailment with the mare.

Pascale turned rather quickly to look at the other mare. At first she thought her eyes were deceiving her, but instead she only stared rather blankly before catching her daze. The mare in front of her was absolutely beautiful, and her uniqueness was something new to Pascale. She didn't know what the other's wings were, and she had never seen some like that before. She was totally intrigued! She wondered what else was special about the new mare.
"Oh, I am just fine sorry to worry you!" Pascale then curtsied lightly at the other mare and whisked her hair and many leaves out of her face. "Ah yes, I was yelling at the leaves you see. But its not like they are harming me, they are just being annoying that's all." She paused, and grinned rather happily. "I am Pascale, and I am very honored that you checked on me. I guess I didn't think anyone else was around." Shame on her, to be yelling so thoughtlessly! What if she had awoken the mare from a comfortable slumber? Well, she certainly hoped not!
"It looks as though you are surviving the season's change better then I. I guess I wasn't expecting the winds to pick up, and so quickly." she sighed somewhat and sent her eyes away and off of the other mare's. Its not that she didn't like the weather change. If anything, cool air felt great on her newly grown coat of fur. But a new season meant finding a new place to live, new places to eat, and darn, she was hardly prepared for either of those things!
Pft, there she went again, trailing into her own scurried thoughts. She blinked suddenly and refocused herself on her guest at hand. She didn't want to seem bored in anyway, so she tried hard to keep her mind sturdy and her voice strong! "But anyway, what brings you out and about on such a day?" Maybe the mare was stronger then her, since traveling in such weather was definitely rare for even Pascale.

So it had indeed been the mare whom had called out in trouble; that had Kaiya swiftly relieved. Her body relaxed and her brow lost the tension it had harbored. The angeni loathed the idea of leaving one to harm or fear - she would have felt guilty the rest of the evening had she not found the source of the shouts so to see Pascale safe and sound was very much a blessing!
With no further pressing matters urging her on, Kaiya had no intentions of leaving Pascale. Not yet, at least. The two-toned mare was nearly as inquisitive as she was stubborn and that was saying a lot; she had met and witnessed many creatures during her time away from the heavens but none entirely like Pascale! Kalona, yes, but often they cared little for their appearance (or in some cases cared too much) but harbored vicious and deadly attitudes. Therefor it surprised and pleased Kaiya to meet one of obvious kalona decent that held such a chipper and polite attitude!
Chuckling as the young mare gave an honest answer to her frustration, Kaiya nodded in appreciation. "The autumn winds can indeed be troublesome; I fear many a long maned soquili is going to be picking out tangles for weeks!" Glancing down at her own mane, she picked a few leaves out before adding coyly, "And I'm one of them." Another gust caused her to wince, her disheveled set of wings half-spreading to keep herself balanced. If her hair wasn't going to be tangled like a mop by the wind, than her wings would fast be rendered useless should the weather continue. "Be glad you needn't deal with feathers on top of your hair," she added with a rueful grin, watching as a few more delicate feathers took off with the breeze.
But on to other things. Dipping her head and offering a gracious bow herself, Kaiya made sure to memorize the face with the name. Pascale - it was beautiful and as such fitting to belong upon the pleasant and just as lovely kalona mare she'd discovered. Such amicable conversation was refreshing to Redemption. . . . So often conversations dealt with negativity and arguments and battles... this was a wonderful change of pace! "I'm Kaiya, and truly tis wonderful to see you are quite well and in one piece!" The scars on her body spoke of situations that were less than pleasant so her sincerity could be fully understood.
"As for surviving the season, might I be completely frank?" Looking around, as if harboring some great secret, the winged mare took a step forward to further bridge the distance between herself and this new acquaintance. Dropping her voice, as if whispering some secret, she added quietly, "I've not been through a winter myself. I hardly know what to expect!" Her smile returned, her gold and silver eyes gleaming in good humor.
Ah, but it was true. Though she was no spring chicken this was the first time she'd been sent to the kawani lands. Typically she resided within the heavens, with the other angeni and had merely watched others survive the cruel winters. Now, for once, she would be experience the bitter fight for survival first hand. . .
Was she nervous? Not really but she also understood that a fight it truly would be.
"I fear I'm always out and about," she added lightly, tossing her hair as yet another gust of wind chose to whip it around. "My mission doesn't often give me time to break or enjoy the weather. . . or hide from it, in this case," she chuckled lightly again, her voice as calm and tranquil as ever. "But, on the other hand, I wind up meeting the most extraordinary of soquili, just as I've been blessed to meet you. Pardon the inquiry but what of yourself?"

Pascale giggled at the other mare's words, and she straightened herself up and proceeded to wrap her wings around her back. Besides for flying, one of the things they were great for was keeping her warm! "Pardon my wings, this is a old trick my mother taught us when me and my siblings were young. And on the topic of you're own feathers, they are rather lovely! I can see where they'd be problematic but at least they look pretty?" Ah yes, Pascale logic. It made sense to her, but who knew if it made sense to everyone else!
"I am glad to meet you, Kaiya!" she then said, while gleaming rather proudly. "From first glance I can tell that you are a very wise mare, so I am thankful that'd you take the time to get to talk to me!" A girlish giggle escaped her mouth, but she tried to hide any emotions that may have been seen as childish. She was a lady now, and she needed to practice acting like one. Though sometimes, she seriously found that as difficult.
"I'm glad I'm not the only one who is in wonderment for winter. I mean, I've heard nothing but good things about the season, though food does become scares and everything ends up freezing. My mother even said that sometimes it looks as though time itself has stopped. Everything gets quiet and lifeless, I wouldn't be surprised if I shout just to keep things moving!" Pascale wasn't sure how she felt about complete solitude, but no matter what she'd stay positive and hope to see some pretty snow! "We are tough mares so I'm sure we'll make it through just fine!"
At Kaiya's next inquiry, Pascale could only shake her head rather frantically. "A blessing is putting it far too nicely! But alas I am very thankful for your generosity. I don't think I've ever spoken to someone as pleasant as yourself." Hm, watching Kaiya would help her boost in maturity! Kaiya represented the kind of mare that Pascale wanted to be, and she was sure her mother would also approve that strength of character. "I believe you are called an.. an angeni correct? I bet that is an amazing life is it not?" She wondered if her question was too personal? Even so, she figured Kaiya would admit if she had crossed the line!

Despite the cool, autumn wind that blustered around them, Kaiya felt warmth in the presence of Pascale. Her earliest fears had fast been relieved and instead of facing a new challenge in the kalona, she had found what was fast becoming some sort of . . . friend. She wasn't fighting to save a soul, she wasn't on the defensive and preparing to make a hasty retreat should another's fangs seek her throat, oh no. . . she was merely having polite and most pleasant conversation.
What a rarity, but a joyous occasion nonetheless. Kaiya decided that, for a little while at least, she would enjoy what Pascale had to offer.
Gold and silver eyes watched as the mare wrapped her sides with her wings. Hmmm. . . . Glancing back at her own feathers, an amused smile crossing her features, she attempted to mimic the action. It was a little more awkward, what with two sets (and one of them bandaged up) but she gave it a good go. Her wings weren't quite like Pascale's but at least cuddling them close to her sides did keep the worst bite of wind away. "It's a very wise trick to know," she complimented with another grin, her long tail swishing a bit happily behind her. As her new friend called her feathered nusiances pretty, Kaiya chuckled and dipped her head, dismissing such a thing with a wink. "I don't know if pretty is an accurate description - disheveled and a mess is much more proper, especially in this sort of weather!" Her first set was in better condition than her second, but between the two she frequently left a trail of feathers in her wake.
Kaiya happily listened to the blond beauty before her chatter on about winter. It was nice to hear one talk of such pleasantries; some might call their conversation mundane but such a thing was rare for the angeni. "You are indeed right - we're made of strong stock, I think we have little to fear come the changing of the seasons. A little quiet time certainly won't hurt the world. . . Think of it as revitalizing itself for the upcoming activity of spring!" Now there was a season Kaiya adored. . . new life, new greenery and a rejuvenation of the world.
"A blessing is entirely appropriate," she playfully argued, eyes gleaming bright. "The spirits so frequently guide me towards hostile situations. . . to have them smile upon me and allow me such good fortune as to meet you must mean I've done something right in my mission. The spirits can indeed be fickle and coniving creatures," she added with a grin, glancing up at the heavens as if they were listening. Which, Kaiya understood, was something they always did.
"I am indeed an angeni," she added with a gentle smile, pausing a moment to give her long, streaked mane a little shake. Leaves were beginning to form a hodge-podged crown on her head and it was beginning to become quite the distraction. "It's hard to call my life amazing though, I must admit. My position is more eventful than anything. . I find the lives of those around me to be more fascinating than my own." And wasn't that the truth. Kaiya was all about others and their right to live in peace. Hunting down the damned and trying to save them honestly wasn't as impressive a duty as it sounded. . . .
Twas more painful than anything.

Pascale was somewhat worried when she heard Kaiya mention hostile situations, and she wondered if she should pry and ask something about it. Hostile situations scared Pascale, but a part of her was always interested. Her mother had been in many before and she always listened to her stories with shaky ears. Although it may have been surprising for those that didn't know her, Pascale craved and loved new information and knowledge. She wanted to learn so much about others so that she could hopefully connect it all towards her own life. And now was yet another perfect opportunity!
"What kind of hostile situations, Kaiya? I pray you haven't been hurt during them?" she shuddered at the thought and looked down at some of Kaiya's scars on her legs. "I wish I was stronger so I could help you if you ever needed it, but my sister is much stronger you see. She takes after my mother a lot, same with my brother." Ah sigh. Her father was truly a peacemaker, and Pascale took after him well. "You are of a much stronger stock than me, but that's not a bad thing! Its impressive, and I'm amazed again at you're strength. I like to cherish everybody's strengths and abilities, and I'd love to hear more of yours!" That's what made everyone so fun and interesting, since they were so different.
She wiggled her tail a bit as she finished speaking, and she took a deep breath in since she was talking so much. Well, that was no surprise of course. "I've never had a connection with spirits." she then admitted, while looking back towards her friend and making a silly face. "Well... I've been pestered before by those that misundertand me, they say I'm corrupted by the kalona 'raven' spirits because my mother is of full blood, and my father is half-bred. But you know, I think those who judge others are wrong! My family is nothing like that raven thing, but I know there are kalona out there was such spirits. So, I try and teach others that there are different kinds of Kalonas, but to still be cautious." Since... unfortunately not everyone was as nice as her and her family.
She paused again, and flapped her wings naturally as if they were being referenced. "Have you seen or heard of those evil spirits before? I'd hope not... I doubt they'd be very fun to communicate with. But at least you could kick their butts back!" And alas, she finished her thought with a light giggle and smile.

Kaiya couldn't help but feel surprised by the young mares intrigue and concern over her mission. More and more this chance meeting was transforming in to something beneficial and full of surprise; too often was the angeni concerned solely on the well-being and hope of others that it came as a surprise when someone questioned her life or took intrigue in her work. It was surprisingly refreshing and yet Kaiya didn't want the golden haired mare to feel an ounce of concern.
Chuckling softly at Pascale, Kaiya gave a fervent shake of her head. "Fear not for me, tis my choice and my passion. I often find myself face to face with the proclaimed night mares that walk the world. I'll give myself freely to assist any in need, but I seek out in particular those that are less than amicable. You see, though there are many angels out to protect the innocent from the wicked, there aren't nearly as many whom take the time to offer redemption to the damned." Her tail swished, wings shuffling a bit as yet another gust of wind hit them though her warm smile never wavered. "It isn't easy, I'll admit, but someone has to do it. Every life is worth saving, wouldn't you agree?"
Pascale was an image of hope in her own right. Listening to the judgment cast down upon the golden haired one, Kaiya clucked her tongue lightly in dismay. "No creature has a right to judge so severely, especially without knowing the facts. You and your family are living proof that there is and can be good, even in those that might be considered so cruel. Your mother isn't evil even being full blooded kalona; surely there must be hope for others out there as well."
Not all kalona wanted to be blood-thirsty; there were some that were conflicted and some that had never been introduced to a different lifestyle. But such was the case with any soquili out there. . . . Nature versus nurture, Kaiya versus every fiber of ones chosen path.
Chuckling lightly at Pascale's enthusiasm and hope that Kaiya might kick some evil-spirit-tail, the angeni found the giggles infectious. Truly she had met a delightful mare! "I've met my share of evil, but I'm afraid you've more confidence in my abilities than me. I rarely am on the offense," she explained mildly. There were warriors meant to fight the physical battles; though she could be quite the force to reckon with the mare much preferred to stay on the defensive.

"I definitely agree." Pascale then added, almost a little too quickly. Her eyes were eager and her head was nodding quite strongly. "That's why I commend you so much! You give up you're own time to help out those who still have a fighting chance. I will always find that amazing, Kaiya. Even my own mother used to be horrible in her decisions of the past. But I think life is amazing because second chances exist. And I wouldn't be here if there was no second chance." Pascale was happy to admit that she was very moved by Kaiya's line of work.
Pascale curtsied slightly as Kaiya gave her and her family such a complement. She liked to believe they were doing something right, even if they WERE oddballs. But she loved being oddballs with them. Her parents and lineage were such beacons of hope that Pascale had no other feeling then pride. Well, even if pride came naturally in the family! "Thank you, and my mother has been through so much. I think it pleased my grandfather to know that she chose the right side of life. I wish more creatures would do that! But then.. you'd be out of work, right?" Pascale then giggled while moving her bangs out of her eyes. "And we need you to stay busy missy! You are too good at you're job!"
Though, Pascale didn't want Kaiya doing work that would lead her to harm! But she knew that sometimes moments arrived where harm was inevitable. At least Kaiya was strong enough mentally and physically to handle it. "Hmmm I don't see how I have more confidence then you." she then said, while glancing her eyes elsewhere with a grin. Although confidence came naturally for her, she believed everyone should well, feel the same way she did!! And emit it so strongly! "Let's list off some more reasons why you are amazing: You help creatures that many wouldn't approach while STILL looking beautiful and sexy, you stand up for what you believe in WHILE encouraging others all the same!? I mean come on, you HAVE to have confidence in those abilities. I'd say in total you're abilities are smack-ed out amazing!"
Lucky Kaiya! Pascale would have to work hard and get some kind of abilities herself! But alas, it was fun watching others and what they did too!

The angeni mare had to stifle the laughter that threatened to ring out. Not only was Pascale outgoing and full of light, but her attitude was ridiculously infectious. Had it been so long around night that the angel had forgotten what it was like to be with good? Had she been on her own for so long that meeting this mare was transforming in to even more of a blessing than she had first imagined? Either way, the conversation was fun and the angel's spirits were fast beginning to soar.
So focused on those with hurt and pain ever present in their lives, sometimes Kaiya forgot to spend time with those that were healthy and in good spirits. Such darkness could far too easily bring one down.
Another gust of wind whipped through the forest, throwing a mess of dry and dead leaves at the pair. Kaiya gave her mane another shake, though the tangles were inevitable; until the winds died down there would be no salvaging her appearance. "Oh, Pascale, you couldn't imagine how I would love to be out of a job. I would love to meet your family someday, because it is your kin and your personality that is my wish to the world; change is more possible than one thinks. . . ." And wasn't that the truth! The kalona mare before her was living, walking, breathing truth that goodness could take hold of any form, regardless the opposition.
"I would happily look for a new line of work," she grinned, "But I fear that day won't be today." Not in her lifetime, or so she believed; someday, yes, unity would spread like wildfire through the world and opposition wouldn't be defeated but changed; someday good would conquer all. . . . but it was still one helluva fight.
"You are quite the flatterer," Kaiya teased, giving her new found friend a genuine good-humored smile. "I am confident in my abilities, I must be, else those I try to help wouldn't take me seriously." And wasn't that the truth! If she didn't believe in herself than there was absolutely no way she could convince someone else to follow her words. "And you, m'dear, are completely and utterly infectious! You are truly a blessing and I am most fortunate to have met one such as you. You are the amazing one, and may you always keep your brilliance." Shining in personality and appearance, the young mare had a lot going for her. She would go far with a personality like that. . . .

Pascale also shifted in footing from the wind gust, and she refrained from fixing her hair since (for once!) she was in a deep and wondrous thought. "So wait... if you are here now and relaxing, and not doing your current job, does that meant that right now you have the day off?" A usual smile returned to the young mare's face, and she wiggled her body as all of the thoughts came to her in a rush of brilliance. "So like, if it IS your day off, that means you can do something YOU want!" and again, another pause occurred with a light twirl and dance move. "So, what do you like to do for fun?!" PFT, they just had to take advantage of such a day!
Although the process of critical thinking may have taken Pascale an extra second, she was overjoyed with the idea of Kaiya being able to relax and do something SHE wanted. Kaiya deserved it! She was a hard-workin' mare! "I think its ok to like your job even if it may be hard at times. Maybe it keeps you on your hooves and busy?" Hmm, some preferred just doing the harder stuff? Unfortunately, Pascale was hardly worthy to such a title and position. "And, if you are good at your job then there's no reason to give up too." She bobbed her head as she once again considered more possibilities, but then decided to leave it be with a usual smile. "Whatevs, just keep on rocking!"
When Kaiya gave her the kindest of complements, Pascale could only shake her head and dig her face into her neck. Her bright hair helpfully covered the dramatic embarrassment. "Oh please oh please! I blame my brilliance on my parents! My grandparents! This world out here!" she then brought her face out again and flicked at a leaf that had conviantly landed on her nose. "I think we all have so much to be thankful for, so I try to give credit whenever it is deserved ya know?" Ah well, even Pascale wasn't perfected. But she had a damn lot to thank for her personality and upbringing.

Kaiya honestly had never met someone as upbeat as Pascale. Though she had spent much time down upon the kawani lands, the young mare had often been so caught up in following the broken and the damned that she completely missed out on meeting amicable faces such as Pascale. But, now that she had met the young mare, there was something infectious about her. . . something that shone bright in her soul and something Kaiya dearly wanted to cherish.
It truly was a fortuitous day to make a friend. With luck, she and Pascale would have many meetings from this day forward. "Well, I . . . I suppose it is a day off," she explained, surprised by the idea of such a day. "I guess I could have as much down time as I choose but the world would never get healed at that rate." As far as Kaiya was concerned she was indeed going to fix the world, one soquili at a time. It was a big job, certainly, but someone had to do it!
Two pale ears did p***k with concern as Pascale asked her what she enjoyed doing. In actuality, the duel-eyed mare had never thought of it before. What she liked to do? Well. . . . "Um. . . er. . . " Canting her head and offering a small chuckle of her own, the mare finally conceded, "I . . . I'm not sure, really. You must know that outside off resting my legs from my travels, I don't take days off. What does a mare like you enjoy doing when she has such free time?" Kaiya wasn't object to talking to others but outside of socializing what else was there to do?
This was new ground for the mare. . . Very new ground.
"Regardless who you give credit to, you must remember that your brilliance is truly your own. It may have been shaped by the world and your kin but," Kaiya grinned at her friend, "It is still all your own." If credit was given where credit was due than Pascale had to realize she herslef deserved a pat on the back as well.

Pascale understood the commitment that went into Kaiya's job. But even so, she was completely surprised to hear that Kaiya couldn't answer her question! Not that she was judging her or anything, but she felt awful that she hadn't experienced some of the crazy or silly things that Pascale had been blessed with! This must have been the destiny thing that her parents had told her about. And now she was learning that Kaiya had her own destiny to keep track of. No wonder it was hard for her to have her own fun! So, to take the stress out of Kaiya's voice, Pascale was happy to answer as upbeatly as she always did. "You can say that basically everything I do is for fun." she winked lightly while considering some details to tell.
"But I think if that is true for me, even your own line of work can be something that is fun for you! Sure it can be hard and straining, but there are ways to make it fun ya know? Like hmm, let me think!" as she thought she could feel the wheels turning and bustling in her mind. "My parents used to make me train somewhat since they wanted me and my siblings to be able to handle ourselves. I'll admit, I am not a fighter once so ever!" As if that was obvious... "But I still made those lessons fun in my own way! I guess you can say I interpreted them differently, like if my dad was going off on how to defend myself, I was sitting there plotting up ways to defend myself using words or love!" She paused then, and wondered if her rant made any sense.
"I try to envision things in a way that is fun. So even if I am walking through a lonely forest, I can make it fun by listening to the birds or animals around me. So even if you say you may not have any fun hobbies on record, just think about times when you were happy and I think that will mean you were having fun! Or the fact that you help others might be fun when you complete the job too!"
Once again, Pascale passed 'her logic' onto someone that was obviously much different and smarter then her. But she liked to believe in her heart that it helped Kaiya somewhat! Especially since Kaiya's own words were impacting Pascale's heart back! "My own brilliance.. I'll always remember that!" How lovely it sounded!

Kaiya and Pascale, though both warm in heart and soul, were truly an opposite pair. Where the angeni often kept a quiet and unassuming stance, content to live quietly in the background it seemed Pascale had no problem dancing in the spotlight. Her personality was so bubbling and contagious it was too hard to not take notice of the mare. Indeed the spirits had smiled down upon them both but Kaiya had to wonder if perhaps this wasn't a subtle hint from the spirits above.
Maybe she did need to take a little down time all to herself. She most certainly couldn't save the world if she were burnt out or suffered discouragement. Yes, it was her life to live, but it was also her life to give to other. . . . And she'd give it freely to all. Some needed more attention than others, certainly, and some would never take her gift of love and redemption and forgiveness. . .
But that didn't mean she couldn't try.
"I do find pleasure in my work," Kaiya admitted with a gentle chuckle and nod, her long tail swishing behind her. "It isn't always easy and it comes with frequent disappointment but when all is said and done I take pride in what I do and the gift I can offer those less fortunate. But outside of work. . . " Her brow knitted an d she thought about her life.
There wasn't much to it outside of saving the damned if she were honest. Pascale was her first friend and meeting other angeni like herself was a rarity. "I take comfort in birdsong and otherwise the gift of nature but I suppose that might not be considered fun." Chuckling the mare winked at Pascale and added, "I guess I'm note exactly the wild and crazy sort."

Pascale was thankful to hear that Kaiya had some good fulfillment from her job. As long as she was healthy and content, well then things were definitely good! Though, when Kaiya did decide to open up a bit about her out-of-job life, Pascale's eyes beamed with excitement.
"Of course that's considered fun!" her voice rang out like it usually did, and her hair was all over the place in a strange but fitting way. "I love nature myself and find ways to create games with the creatures I meet. And I bet there are a LOT of Soquili that like doing thins like us, too. You just haven't met them yet!"
Pascale then narrowed her eyes a bit in a playful and silly manner. "You might not be aware yet, but your dream stallion may be listening to the birds for fun and hoping to run in to you one day! He may listen to the birds and hope they are singing out to you too!" She giggled then and drew her neck back wit ha laugh. "See, you gotta keep yourself open to those kinds of situations because our fated meetings could be anywhere!" In Pascale's mind, that's how easy it was to meet one's own prince charming. Or something.
"And don't worry, being wild and crazy gets exhausting. You should be thankful that you enjoy taking it easy." She smiled at her friend and nodded her head gently. "One minute I may be having fun and laughing, and then the next minute I'm expected to be just as energetic and crazy but in a different way. Trust me, that stuff is serious business. I'd rather just flop on the ground and sleep all day!" Though, she WAS too energetic to allow for that kind of peace.
