 She sat with tears brimming after one of her god siblings teased her and called her foolish... all because she wanted to have wings like them. They told her it was impossible... she was mortal and they were not-they'd live forever and she'd die someday. All these things were making her so sad. She'd die someday and not be with her mother Nix? She had sat and cried for a while now, hiding away from everyone else-but far away from any water... she knew that was how her original parents died... and created a huge fear for her.
She sighed, looking absently at the rocks that hide her... before she stared to do the only thing that made her smile with no problems.
She sang.
"Oh little butterfly, stretch your wings!
For flying is the greatest of thing...
Fly above with grace and speed...
Oh little butterfly unlike me.
So pretty and light, flying so high.
It isn't fair that I cannot fly.
I want to be like everyone else...
Oh little butterfly..." She sang with such beauty and skill that she didn't doubt a sibling could hear her... But she didn't care

It wasn't a sibling that heard the singing, but it was a god.
Large paws jumped across rocks as the blue and grey juvenile cleared a few gaps, and he stood stock still, listening again before following the sound, ears pricked. Hearing it near rocks, he jumped down, looking around as he worked to hide his wings, looking around, in case it was a mortal. Very rarely did he ever show himself to them these days....
"Hello?"
He looked around, pure golden eyes looking around quizzically.

She was going to start in on another verse of the song, hoping to sing her sorrows away, when heavy paw steps made her brown and tan ears twitch... was a sibling coming to tease her again. She looked upwards, half expecting anyone to see her because she sometimes blended in so well with the rocks and dirt... but it sounded like they were looking for her at least. She lowered her head, hoping it wasn't a cousin, who thought her foolish as well-they were mortal and never wished to be anything else.
Then, a voice she did not recognize spoke up and she looked skywards, her blue eyes making it very obvious where she was. It was a stranger, but she could see his wings, golden against his darker frame. "H-hello." She said, her voice a bit sniffly still, she had been getting nervous about the teasing and her tears started to tempt to climb from her eyes... she had to look down and wipe her cheeks quickly. "Sorry if I disturbed you.."

Primitus didn't see her until she spoke, and he turned to see blue eyes, cream, and chocolate. He smiled warmly, sitting and chuckling.
"No, I don't mind. I was wondering who was singing so beautifully."
His tail cured about him, and he maintained a mortal appearing, hoping she didn't see his wings. Others often reacted strangely to knowing he was a god, and he didn't wish to be regarded as 'better' than anyone else.
He didn't really realize his size alone was unnatural for his age, nor that his eyes never looked normal.
He smiled kindly, the bands on all 4 legs as well as his circlet glinting merrily in the sun. The matrix 'round his neck glowed warmly-- Primitus rarely showed a hostile side, and he didn't want to intimidate the female. Rather, he suddenly seemed to remember it there and tried to hide it, falling over in the process.
"YEEP!"

Nana smiled at the stranger, her brown brush wiggling slightly. She could tell he wasn't mortal-she could pick up several formalities, which she learned from living with them. She chuckled, looking away for a moment, a bit sh about his comment. "Ah, I suppose It was me then... though I don't know if my singing is beautiful..." She said, a large grin crawling across her face when she looked back at him.
"You don't have to hide your true being... I know that you are a god. My mother is Nix... goddess of Lightening... " She said with a teasing grin. "You don't have to hide it." She stood up and shook off her tan fur, flicking her feet for a moment and starting to walk up the small path, so she was level with him and not down in a crevice.

Primitus blinked, ears pinning back shyly.
This was different. He wasn't used to mortals noticing him beyond being a 'strange, oversized cub' until he reached adolescence each life, let alone being confronted by a mortal being raised by another god or goddess. He partially began to worry-- was he invading the goddess' territory? He didn't intend to intrude, and he knew little of others beyond kin.
One wing unfurled from hiding warily, the illusion dropping suspiciously to reveal his true nature, but the leadership god still looked, well, spooked.
"I'm, ah... Not intruding, am I?"

Nana smiled and shook herself of dust-to make sure it was all gone for sure, and scrambled up the steep incline to stand beside him; her teal eyes shining. "Oh no, my mother won't mind-unless you are here to cause problems-then you may have all the family to fight-including me-even if I am mortal." She said this with a grin, sitting down and giving her face another good lick-to straighten the fur.
She lifted her head up and puffed out her fluffy chest, ignoring the fact she was sad a few moments ago. "I am Bokoboko, Daugther of Nix... but everyone calls me Nana... " She said, bowing her head in greeting. "And-I like your wing..." She pointed with her nose. "It looks like the stars..."

"N..No trouble."
Primitus looked nervous, still expecting an ambush any time. He wasn't accustomed to other Gods or Goddesses unrelated-- while he was leadership, he was also sheltered.
"I.. I.. I mean no trouble..."
He quivered, however. He wasn't a coward -- just nervious. When Nana mentioned his wings, he blinked, spreading one wing out curiously for her to look at.
"Uhm... Thanks?"

She padded up to him and sat beside him, a bit confused at how old he as due to his size... but she was used to being tiny-though she was the eldest of the cubs. She had stunted in growth during her bought of starvation. She smiled. "My mother is good... so please don't worry..." She said reassuringly, nudging his shoulder with her nose. She looked over at his wing curiously, stepping closer and giving it a good sniff.
"I know it sounds silly but that is one of the most beautiful wings I have seen... and I see alot..." She said, standing up to faun over it some more-and hopefully make him feel more at ease. "In fact, I would be envious of such a wing... as bright as the night skies."
She sat down and crossed her front paws. "But my siblings say I have 'wing envy' as it is...

Primitus let her paw all over him, watching cautiously.
"Forgive my ill manners, I simply, well...."
He shrugged warily.
"I'm not accustomed to the territories of other gods."
He watched, listening to her speak politely. Wing envy?
Why would she get that? Curious. However, he let her do as she wished, watching curiously. Mortals always intrigued him, and she was no exception.
He just didn't want to risk getting attacked by an angry Goddess.

Nana could still sense that he was nervous and with a laugh, knudged him sideways lightly. If he wasn't comfortable here-then they would go where he could be. "Well then, lets fix that little fact then. " She said padding past him and down a trail. She stopped midway and looked to see if he was coming.
"If you don't want my mom to attack you-which she never would-then you can follow me. I know where she doesn't go... " She said pertly, her teal eyes blinking in a grin.

Primitus followed the female, ears pricking attentively as she spoke. He looked fairly sheepish-- he didn't mean to be rude! --and smiled a bit, weakly.
"I do apologize if I seem to be irritating to you."

She chuckled and turned to look at him. "No, silly... I am not irritated. Actually I'd rather make a new friend than sit and wallow in my own self pity... I do that sometimes... It comes with the territory I guess..." She said, looking sideways into the distance for a moment. "Enough being all sad and such-lets do something fun... have you ever played in the long grass?"
She looked over at him, her tail wagging slightly. "Tall grasses-long and green" she sang cheerfully-her teal eyes squeezed shut as she did so. They opened again and her body began to wriggle. "My siblings usually don't play with me like that-but my cousins do... they're mortal like me... So they usually don't make fun of me that much. "

Primitus blinked. Play? He hadn't done that since his last lifetime. The male dropped, smiling excitedly.
"Okay, you start."
His tail wriggled and moved, wagging and otherwise looking almost snakelike as he bounced a bit, grinning like a much younger cub. Then again, the juvenile was always up for a good sport.
Fun time was fun.

The smile that crossed her face made it all too clear-how excited she was at that moment-to be playing with someone who would put up with her. She dropped low too, her bottom swaying slowly side to side-growls escaping her lips. She could barely contain herself-her front paws moving in excited rythums. "Okay.... Try and bite my tail!" She said with a laugh-springing up and running the rest of the way down the path-her peach and brown tail wagging behind her.
"Gotta catch me!" She said, over her shoulder-running. She half wondered if he would use his wings and fly-or run after her like a mortal would. Personally, she wanted to see his wings more-they were beautiful.
