User ImageFakhir:
The pup took one last glance over his shoulder. Doubtless he was seen leaving. Taban was more crafy than he let on... but the cheetah had mentioned several times in the past that he had done quite a bit of exploring as a cub.

He snorted, turned his head, and broke into a brisk trot. He'd been trained...while still a pup, he'd know how to handle himself in an emergancy.

He had family out there...family living under a tyrant. Family that needed his strength...family that would have to wait for a while, but he needed to see for himself.

Tuna:
Moving at a slow, easy pace, the adult had walked for what felt ages. It'd been a while since he'd bid his cheetah friend farewell, parting company to find his own way. Wild life had proven odd for him, but not unwelcome. Scavanging was easy, at least. He was just used to much... Fresher meat.

As he looked up, tossing his mane from his face, he took a deep whiff of the air. He could smell others near by. A mixture, really - Hyenas, cheetahs, he swore he even smelled leopard and lion. He doubted he was near the sanctuary, though. That was a different direction. And he didn't smell human.

Not paying attention, he nearly tripped over a pup crossing his path. He stopped to watch it, ears folding back. A pup, out here, alone... Either it was an orphan, or its mother was near by... And he'd seen how his cousin had treated a strange hyena near HER pups.

Fakhir:
Fakhir had been more aware of his surroundings. An older hyena, about the size of his mother, seemingly distracted. His hackles raised up as he stepped to one side, his quiet, fierce eyes locked with those as the stranger, regarding him with a short nod of his head.

For the moment, he said nothing.

Tuna:
As he looked at the pup, Tuna frowned. "You shouldn't be out here alone..." Who knew what kind of hyena might find the pup... Or even a lion. Tuna wasn't the sort to attack for any reason, but that didn't mean others weren't out there that would.

Starting to step around the pup, he froze, whole body twitching and eyes unfocusing. When his eyes came back into focus and his body relaxed, Tuna collapsed, feeling drained. Slowly, he looked at the pup, fully taking him in.

Fakhir:
"You're out here alone." He countered camly, stepping himself in a wide circle as the stranger stepped passed. He looked tired...weak...and then he collapsed.

"Hm..." He turned his head slightly, glancing in the direction of the troupe, then back down to the stranger. "...are you wounded?"

Tuna:
Catching his breath, Tuna eyed the pup. "I'm also an adult..." He tried getting up, legs feeling like jelly as he stumbled and fell back down. "I'm fine... Just..." How did he explain that he saw things? Or what he had seen, for that matter.

When he attempted to stand again, though his legs quaked, he stayed up, determined to not fall. Why did they always drain him like this? It seemed that as the visions happened more frequently, he felt more drained. A part of him worried about the day that he'd be unable to get back up at all.

Fakhir:
Fakhir shook his head and stepped up to stand beside the exhausted adult. "Get up... my family's not too far from here...." He pushed his shoulder against the adult's shoulder, giving him an extra boost up to his feet. "Come on..."

Tuna:
Considering the state he was in... Tuna wasn't about to really argue with the demands. Hobbling, he started in the direction. Each step slowly grew steadier, but too slow in his mind. The survival instinct in him told him that at any moment, something could attack him. He probably looked as unsteady as a drunk human!

Fakhir:
"Pull yourself together." He snapped as he walked, ears rolling back. An adult...pathetic. Walking like a pup fresh out of the womb, collapsing out in the middle of no where. No training. No discipline. "Your name?"

Tuna:
As he looked at the pup, Tuna frowned. "You have no respect for elders, do you?" He stopped, leaning down. It was taking effort not to fall just doing that. "For all you know, I could be here to kill you, or I COULD kill you." He lifted his head back up, beginning to shakily walk again. "I'm Tuna..."

Fakhir:
"I've no respect for anyone that's not earned it yet." He answered in a 'matter-of-fact' tone. "And you...limping and wheezing, and falling over within a few yards of my troupe's camp... have not quite made the cut."

He took a few steps ahead of the male- just in case. "Fakhir." He answered simply. A short introduction, but it would avoid the older hyena's inquiry.

Tuna:
He only snorted, ears back. When the camp came into view, it wan'st quite what he'd expected. When Fakhir had said 'camp', he'd thought of a human camp. This was nothing like a human camp.

A rock, small and insignificant in the grand scheme of things, rolled under his paw. With a loud yelp, he took a spectacular dive and hit the ground again. This was not going too well....

Fakhir:
Fakhir's dry expression slowly pulled into a smirk. "...very graceful." He tipped his head slightly. "...that's the Chokwe tribe. My mother's on patrol tonight. You'd best mind your manners."

He glanced over through the corner of one narrowed green eye. "She's an elite guard."

Tuna:
Giving the pup a sour look, Tuna looked around. "So, I'm guessing your group's made of nomads..." It explained the description of camp. He'd seen human tribes... The nomads made camps, while the rest lived in villages.

Almost out of fear for his safety, the male looked around for an adult female hyena. Best not to anger the pup's mother, at least... Though he had the rising urge to try and sit on him.

Fakhir:
"You could say that. We travel to train on different terrains, meet new allys, and learn about potential enemies...." He started forward once more. "The more you know...the more powerful you are.'

Tuna:
Getting up again, Tuna stumbled as he walked. "That makes sense, I guess..." Finally gaining footing enough to not fall, he looked at the pup. "You seem a bit young to be worried about training. You don't even look weened yet."

Fakhir:
Fakhir sneered, his small nose creasing and a bit. "I have been training since I was able to stand and see. As have my siblings..." He glanced to the side. "I don't wanna end up wheezing and limping like you."

Tuna:
Moving in front of the pup, Tuna out-right glared. He leaned down, getting nose-to-nose. "You've never met a seer, have you? You aren't even one. Every vision, everything seen, can leave me drained. I didn't ask for this, and I didn't ask for you to be so rude!" As his lip curled back and a growl rose, he showed it that he was losing patience.

His attention, though, wasn't on anybody approaching. All the little ball of brown and blonde fur saw was a tail, and it went after it, letting out a delighted sound at the whoop of surprise and pain from the stalked victim.

Fakhir:
Fakhir didn't seem impressed. He didn't believe in seers. Didn't believe in special abilities. Didn't believe in gods or magic... the world was as it was. If someone trained hard- that's how they became special.

His brother's sneak attack brought a smirk to his maw. "...well well. Didn't see that one coming did you?"

Tuna:
Looking back, or trying to, at his tail, Tuna soon discovered a pup attached to it. As he circled to get it off, he started to get dizzy. Combined with his already being weakened, he soon collapsed. This time, he didn't try to get up. He knew he'd fall over again. "Stop the world... I wanna get off the truck..."

Zuberi:
Letting go of the tail, Zuberi grinned. "Look, Fakhir, I caught a rogue!" Ears perked and tail wagging, he jumped on the adult's back. "Bet Ma'll be proud of me now!"

Fakhir:
Fakhir chuckled and stepped over to his younger brother smoothly. "...so dramatic."

He glanced over to Zuberi, "Good job... and very nice use of your stealth. You'd best fetch mother. This one's a bit big for you."

Zuberi:
Zuberi frowned, looking at the male. "Okay, but... What's a truck?" Before his brother could answer, though, the younger male went dashing off through the grass.

Tuna:
As he watched the pup go, Tuna's vision swam for a moment. He closed his eyes, gritting his teeth. Mumbling more to himself, he said, "I have the polar extremes for brothers... Nice..." Lifting his paws, he covered his snout and eyes.

Fakhir:
Fakhir lifted an eyebrow and turned to Tuna a moment after his brother had darted off. "...You say something, gimp?"

Tuna:
"I'm not a gimp." He lifted a paw, glaring with one eye at Fakhir. "And yes, I did." Removing both paws and lifting his head, he looked at the pup. Everything about him, from his hair, to his posture, to the very look in his eyes, said he was serious. "You, oh disrespectful pup, are my brother." He paused. "Well, one of them."

Fakhir:
Fakhir's eyes narrowed as they, likewise, studied the male in front of him. "...what's your father's name? And your mother."

Tuna:
Tuna gave a snort. "You wouldn't know my mother, she was raised in the sanctuary." He looked towards the horizon, the general direction of his former home. "My father, though, is Angaza." He looked back at Fakhir. "Mother always told me that, and I'm going to find him one day. First I had to find the family I knew I have."

Fakhir:
Fakhir's ears drew back against his head. The father's name was right... he'd not mentioned Angaza. He'd never seen his father...but he'd heard tell of him.

"We're relatives." He corrected sharply. "Family's different."
