New Entry Oct 11 I found this dress to be absurdly adorable. Of course there doesn't seem to be much room for a petticoat. I would still wear this to school. Check out her pink cupcake dress and tell me what you think,svp. Oct 10 Browsing the Etsy site for bargains and amusement I came across this. I like the attention to detail and the frumpyness. Agree, Disagree? Don't forget to look at the other dresses! They're gorgeous.

I wouldn't call their dresses Lolita, although some of them are amazing looking, just not for what they are as they put it: Quote: This dress is a play on the elegant goth lolita Japanese fashion style or more well known as EGL. This dress is from our line of royal lolita. At least they put right out front that they are not real Lolita dresses, just loosly based off of them.

All the dresses look...stiff to me, if you know what I mean. It's most likely just the fabric she used, it looks rather costumey. However, I do like the second to last one. ^-^

Those dresses, to me, look like she combined a prom gown with a renfest wench outfit more than anything lolita. One of them has interesting concepts behind the design [the red one with the bustle back is neat], but I'm having a hard time seeing a "lolita" inspiration anywhere but the accessories that she paired with the dresses. Some of them are also just absolutely hideous. In particular, the "joker" lolita outfits they showed at Kakkoicon. o_-;
The skirts are full and in the proper "bell" shape, but corsets push the waist waaaay too low. Also, the outfits just lack the modesty of an actual lolita outfit. I'm also bothered that some of the pieces are "lolita inspired" and others are just outright "lolita" in her descriptions, but they all have the same cuts and shapes; just different fabric patterns. I'm also bothered by the fashion school born tendency you see on several of the pieces [the idea that to just sew fabrics or tie things in place regardless of whether they look like they belong is A-okay].
I am just going to flat out say that that shop is not worth what you're buying, even if you're not going for lolita; they're way off the mark and rather tacky, and highly overpriced.

For some reason I can envision someone putting on the dress and it falling into pieces. As Spuntino said this just looks highly tacky and like it was a craft project for a child to glue on as many crowns as it could on it :/

I hadn't even seen the joker-lolita ones until you mencioned them. Its just, just no. I can see the joker ones worn as jester costumes, that would look rather cute, but other than being the right shape in some places, its just not lolita spuntino Those dresses, to me, look like she combined a prom gown with a renfest wench outfit more than anything lolita. HA! I wasn't even entertaining the idea of buying this! The green dress reminded me a lot of Pirates of the Caribbean. Ugh, I think the majority of your replies are pretty negative. It's cute and I know it's not loli, duh. Isn't it just nice to see the influence of loli? (Especially today with the Victorian shirts coming back) The Joker pieces are tragedies, but the red dress is really nice IMO.

Really? Why? Is the print not your style? Or do you not like how 50s the dress is?

I don't see how a majority of her messages are negative but rather they are informative and well thought out with the intention of not offending people. In fact she pointed out some nice aspects of the outfit (which I could not find any of, it's just plain hideous). Sincerely, if you're going to post anything "Loli-inspired" you're going to get 'negative' things because not everyone can agree with one another. Trust me Spuntino is one of the nicer mods here, there's some you should worry more about being negative than her.

I don't care for "lolita inspired" works. There's a difference between what the sellers says it is, and what the actual inspirations are. A poofy dress that's past knee length does not make it 'lolita-inspired', nor do the bows or the ruffles or the little bit of lace on the dress (which are oddly placed, in any case). Having a crown accessory on the head does not make it lolita-inspired. All I see from that second seller's other clothing, is that it's a bunch of shoddy work inspired from their local Renn-faire and from Victorian influences and they decided to call it "Lolita". First one, I don't even know what to say about that, because all I see is cupcake print and that's it. And cupcake print doesn't make anything any more "lolita".
