 It was curious, the little usidia thought, staring up at sky, how the stars could twinkle about, and every night, they were in different patterns. She shifted her weight slightly, flicking her short tail as she bent her legs, sitting on the ground.
Night had fallen, yet she had stayed up.
Although she wished there was someone with her now, someone like Tugs, she did sometimes treasure her time alone. She had plenty of it, but at times she could see the beauty of having one's own personal space.
Maybe what Rei said was true after all.

 Estelle woke up suddenly, yawning gently as he eyes focused in on the world around her. Looking around she did not recall where she was or how she got there, yet as he eyes saw the stars above it instantly didn’t matter. They were beautiful today, shimmering in their endless magnificence. Standing up she stretched out her muscles lazily, her thoughts wondered to what adventures tonight would reveal and she started walking slowly towards the clearing.
Her eyes wandered to the sky as she walked so that she didn’t spot the little Usdia sitting on her own, walking ever closer her eyes continued to gaze at the beauty above her.

Her ears pricked up, picking up hoof beats. At first, Blaithin thought nothing of it and simply dismissed it as another soquili coming out to admire the stars as well, or having a late night rendezvous. However, they got louder; whoever it was, it was getting closer. Gray eyes widened in fear and she turned around, only to see the other soquili.
It wasn't a usidia though. She had always felt intimidated by the bigger soquilis, and this one had pretty markings! It was almost like a part of the night sky had been taken down and put on her. Blaithin got up, her eyes focused on the star markings, now conscious of her simple own. "Um...hi. Stargazing?" She managed to greet the mare with a shy smile.

Suddenly stopping Estelle looked down at the small horse, she had been so close to stamping over her. A guilt swept over her body like an icy blanket, how had she been so careless. Her eyes diverted their piecing gaze to the small creature, the swirls of purple contrasted perfectly with the grey main and eyes. Curious little creature.
As the words lingered on tightly on the air to her ears she smiled, she loved the stars, they where so beautiful. "Indeed." She looked up once more, the winked at her in their twinkling manner. "Yourself?"
She had not spoken in a while, her voice felt slightly course in her throat yet she imagined that it still floated delicately on the breeze.

"Ah." She nodded in response,"Same here." The usidia smiled, and suddenly lapsed into silence. She was at a loss for what to say, how to continue their conversation. The other soquili was so big! It had terrified her at first, and though she wasn't as frightened, she was still rather timid around them.
"It's nice to have the stars on yourself. You're pretty." Blaithin finally said. Complimenting others came so easily to her; it didn't take her long to see the beauty in others.

Estelle watched the expression of the small creature and realised that she must appear quite intimidating, so in an attempt to make her more relaxed she lowered her body gently until she was sitting down. The grass was cooling beneath her. She looked to her own markings for a moment and then began smiling. "Thank you, my name is Estelle." She continued smiling eyeing the other mare softly with her glittering eyes. "It means stars. What is your name?"
Looking to the sky she recognised patterns that where similar to her own, yet she had never considered her self to be as beautiful as the real thing, other seemed to think she was. Lowering her head again she sighed. "You are very beautiful also, the purple is so eye-catching." It was the truth, although she had not noticed her originally due to the blanket of darkness now that she was so close it was evident that she was exquisite. Clicking her tongue softly inside her mouth she continued to smile.
"So…" She turned her head to the stars. "Which is your favourite constellation?"

With the mare seated, tensed muscles in her body relaxed slightly. Though Blaithin felt considerably more at ease, there was a teensy bit of guilt and she wondered if the other had done that just because of her. "Nice to meet you Estelle. I'm Blaithin. It means little flower."
The usidia smiled in return. "Thank you." She didn't think of herself being as pretty as the starry mare however, though she chose not to speak it. It would be rather impolite.
"Equuleus." She replied gently. The little horse constellation.

"Oh Equuleus." She smiled softly, stars where her forte, she loved everything to do with stars and constellations. "Celeris the offspring of Pegasus, quick and glorious.” She let out an unintentional giggle, "I like the version of the legend that includes Neptune and Athena. Celeris pounced forth from Neptune’s Trident to show the magnificence of all the horses in the world. Who cannot like that? "
Lost in her story of the stars her eyes cleared as she watched them flicker and shimmer in the sky above, she wanted so much to dance with the stars forever, to be captured in their magnificence and beauty.
"My favourite constellation is Orion, for the hunter reminds you that even the greatest of hunters may one day come across their Scorpion, the one challenge they can not overcome." Still smiling happily she turned her head towards Blaithin her name was so appropriate, ‘little flower’, now that Estelle looked at her properly she seemed as fragile as a flower, one that she hoped would never wilt away.

"I've never really heard the stories." Blaithin smiled sheepishly. It was probably the result of her not having many friends. "Care to tell?" Her eyes were alight with bright fascination. What little details Estelle had said had interested her.
A horse emerging from a weapon? How magical and how curious.

Estelle nodded softly, it seemed she was telling lots of stories about the stars these days. Yet she did not mind, the stars had always fascinated her. “Well….” She contemplated a decent starting point, where was the story set perhaps? “Deep within the God’s home on Olympus Mountain where two Gods, there names where Neptune and Athena. Neptune was the God of the Oceans and Athena was the Goddess of Wisdom.” She paused again, the images flashing through her mind like a storyboard.
“At first Athena was friends with Neptune, they would trade water and materials using the Trident as the source. Yet one day this was no longer acceptable. Neptune wanted more power over the land, and Athena wanted to be the only icon in all of Athens.” She smiled, perhaps that was enough of all the background details. “So they both attempted to make weapons. Neptune entranced a horse by the name of Celeris to enter the Ocean, and when he did he trapped he within the Trident, harnessing the power of the horse within the waves. He aimed to stamp out all of the competition.”
“For all her Wisdom, Athena, struggled to create any ideas, she did not want to offend anyone. So she begged the sunshine brightly over the land with a burning passion in an attempt to dry out the sea.” Pausing again she cast her eyes to the sky.
“So one fateful night Neptune came onto the land to face Athena, he struck the ground twice with his trident, realising the essence of Celeris. He rose like a spirit gently out of the Tridents forked egdes and began his fateful movement towards Athena. As he did he helped prove that Neptune was indeed the rightful owner of land and sea. Yet they needed a balance, so together Athena, Neptune and Celeris sat together to discuss the terms of their rights.”
“Neptune returned to the sea, and Athena stayed on the land. Together they consulted each other about the weather and the water supplies, allowing a balance to be realised.”

Blaithin listened raptly to the story with pricked ears. It was a beautiful story, but she winced slightly when the horse was trapped. Being trapped in a weapon, shouldn't Celeris not be angry with Neptune instead?
"At least they didn't end up fighting." She smiled, letting a low sigh of relief escape her as the story ended.

She smiled softly at the small horse, it seemed apparent that she was slightly upset by her story, mostly by the part of the horse, yet this was just speculation. She looked to the stars, picking out the different constellations expertly; somehow even after years of looking at them they still amazed her.
She flicked her tail happily still watching them, her words came out in a daze. "Where are you from?"

"I'm...from the forest." Blaithin usually was too shy to go near to the village. Places with too many soquili were where she usually avoided, unless she was really bored, or summoned up enough courage to. "And you?"

Estelle listened, the forest seemed to be a popular place for Soquili to live lately, and she was meeting more and more creatures that preferred their seclusion and darkness. Yet her heart remained where the stars could always be visibly seen. "A field," she smiled as she allowed her thought to linger on her home, longing to return soon her heart felt slightly heavy. "Its beautiful, the stars twinkle endless above."

Darkness had seemed to be a frightening thing at first, but once one carefully looked about, you could see so much life thriving, and Blaithin loved that. The birds chirping, the flowers, the trees humming with life.
"That is nice." Blaithin agreed. "You...live alone too?"
