Saryichu runs through the forest after a blue and purple teenage lioness, trying to catch her in a game of tag. The multicolor stripes on her fur make it very easy for the younger lioness, Umicho, to dart and weave away from her, laughing all the while. Finally she was able to get out and have some fun without the other two lions. Not that the new infant botheres her, but the tan lion can get on her nerves quite often. Recently he has changed in a good way though. When the lake comes into view she speeds up, digging her claws into the dirt to give more of a speed boost. Umicho darts through the forest running toward the huge lake not too far ahead. Her feet barely touch the ground for more than three seconds a time as she keeps herself ahead of the older flag colored lioness. A grin forms on her face going from ear to ear as she finally gets past the last of the trees. She digs in moving as fast as she can when she looks back and sees the older lioness getting closer and closer to her.

"Pest."
"Grouch."
"Irreverent brat."
"Small-hearted fiend."
"Freaky little monster."
"Juvenile delinquents, both of you!"
"Watch your manners, coward."
"My ma---"
"Awwhh, I think I hear Bowser coming."
"You need the bolts in your ears fine-tuned, deaf-cub, that's two lions chasing each other. You might want to move." With that bit of advise, Grinch stood up with a lazy stretch and hopped into the tree above him, winding himself between three branches.
The other two knew to follow Grinch's advice from experience. Ilori stood to round about to the side. Phoenix Shelley stood to follow first Grinch up the tree, then looked uncertainly as Ilori didn't do that, and ended up standing too long, looking from one to the other for what to do.
He was in the middle of the clearing when Umicho burst out unto it. The startled teenager made a squacking sound and immediately hit the ground, flattening himself against it best he could. Yep, because THAT got him out of the way.
"Watch out, careful!"

Saryichu gains ground on the younger lioness, laughing until she spots movement ahead. She stumbles but manages to stop herself from flying out of the forest, following behind Umicho quickly. "Watch out Umicho! Stop!"
Umicho hears Saryichu yell something to her so she looks back. "What?" When she looks forward she gasps and tries to stop herself in vain. A yelp echoes through the trees as she slams into the male teenage lion cowering on the ground, tumbling over him then rolling down over a low cliff into the lake water.
Saryichu speeds up and jumps over the teenager. "I'm sorry..." She runs to the cliff edge lookind down anxiously. "Umicho! Are you ok?" She turns and runs to the teen on the ground again. "Oh dear, are you ok? I am so sorry..." She then looks over into the water again, gasping when she spots the younger lioness floating in the water face down. "Any of you, help! I...i can't swim...please help Umicho!"

"Oh, ow, uuff--uhn...eeek! Uh? Huh? Uhmmm..uh-huh...Huh?" That was being slammed into, groaning about it, squealing over being jumped over, blinking at the question asked of him, thinking of an answer, answering it, then blinking in surprise when he realized the other lioness wasn't there to hear his answer, but squealing about something about--- "Wha--!!!" And that was watching Ilori speed-past him and jump into the waters. Whoa! That wasn't like him at all!
Ilori hadn't always just been hyper-sensitive about making sure others were ok, but this moment in time he was going to actually prove that he'd do something when it proved someone actually wasn't ok. He had already come out to sniff at Phoenix Shelley and when the striped lioness started squealing about the teenager in the lake--well, he would have none of that. He dove in to take care of the problem.
Grinch wasn't far behind him, though he'd had to untangle himself from the tree before he could jump to help. Unlike Ilori, he wasn't an excellent swimmer, but he did waddle deep enough to help drag Umicho back in, "Stupid lions that don't pay attention to anything."
Yeah, he was being gracious about it.
"Shah-uh-Gimpah--" Ilori muttered best he could with Umicho in his mouth, "Aassi'ents 'appen."
"Most accidents can be avoided with a little intelligence." Grinch snorted back, and gave one final huff to get Umicho on the bank, then whacked at her head, "Get up."
"Geez, Grinch!" Ilori had grown up with a water lioness as a mother and knew exactly how to go about making sure Umicho was ok and would be ok, and started to go through that checklist now.
Grinch snorted and stood back, turning to the other lioness and Phoenix Shelley as he shook first one paw, then another, then another, and...UGH, ugh, UGH WATER!!! "You need to teach her to pay attention better...and you need a lesson in survival skills, idiot. Gee, something's coming barreling straight at me, I'm going to stand RIGHT in the way in let myself get kicked around!"
Phoenix Shelley's ears drooped at the reprimand. He slunk over to Ilori and Umicho, "Did I kill her?"
"Not even close. She's fine." Ilori went to intentionally shake himself off beside Phoenix Shelley, spraying water all over him.
Shelley didn't even seem to notice, instead going to sniff at Umicho. "I'm sorry...."

Saryichu watches the two lions pull Umicho out of the water feeling helpless knowing she can't swim. Hearing the green lion's comments she grows aggitated, but when he hits Umicho she growls and moves closer nuzzling the younger lion's cheek. "Don't hit her....yes she should've watched where she was going...but....she did not deserve that." She looks to the teen again. "Are you alright? I'm sorry she ran over you."
Umicho blinks then coughs and rolls to her stomach. She jumps up seeing a lion moving around her. "Did i just fly...?" She shakes herself dry and walks up to the other lion her age. "Are you ok? I saw ya too late and couldn't stop myself fast enough. I'm sorry." She and Saryichu both thank the third lion, Umicho still shaken from her plunge.
Saryichu walks closer to the clothed lion. "Thank you for saving Umicho...i must learn how to swim someday...." She looks down hearing herself talk. She is such an idiot. If she knew how to swim...if she had not been chasing the younger lioness..."I'm sorry for causing so much trouble..." She turns and bows her head to the teen and the green lion in turn.
Umicho looks at the big green lion, then to the teen next to her. "Did i imagine it or did he hit me?"

Phoenix Shelley nodded, big eyed, to Saryichu. He was fine, he had said so, and he wasn't used to a huge fuss being made over him. Even Ilori, as hyper-sensitive as he could be, tended to back off pretty quickly if no blood was showing.
Umicho was different. He nodded to her, then put a paw out to catch some of the water dripping off of her ear, pulling back his paw immediately when the drop contacted it and shaking it as if it had stung him. He stood, still big eyed, and rounded over to the water's edge, just close enough NOT to have it touch his paws. Then proceeded to stare at it, look back at Umicho and all the wet lions, and stare at it some more.
Ilori frowned with concern at Umicho's first question. Fly? No, no she had not, and it was a foolish question to ask. That was worrisome. Was she ok? Really? He put a nose down close, ears perked to listen as if she'd give some obvious clue of being not-ok. He completely missed whatever it was Saryichu was saying in favor of worry.
Then sat back up in amusement at the final question, sufficiently sure she was fine at the flood of words and apology, "He was trying to wake you up."
"And test her memory, and it worked." Grinch had again found a tree to go perch himself in. He eyed the whole group critically.

Umicho looks at the older male still sniffing around her and listening to her. She backs away from him a little, tail swishing nervously. "Thank you for saving me." Her ears perk up when he says the big green lion was trying to wake her up. "Well that kinda hurt..." She rubs her head with her paw and looks up at the green lion a little irritated.
Saryichu approuches the clothed lion and bows her head. "Thank you for saving her. I never learned how to swim as a cub..." She sees Umicho is alright and relaxes, realising she was holding her breath. She smiles softly at the lion in front of her. "My name is Saryichu...may I ask what yours is sir?"
Umicho walks over to the lion her age and smiles sitting near him, but not next to him, giving him space. "You probably heard my name by now, but I'm Umicho. What's your name?" She smiles then looks at the lake water, tail swishing.

"I am Ilori," Ilori nodded a bit, then turned to try to smooth down his coat from being wet and stuck up, "It's nice to meet you." He spoke between licks.
Grinch let out a low rumble of amusement, "Nice wasn't the word I was thinking. It has been a minor adventure."
"That's Grinch." Ilori gave him a pointed look, one that told him to remember his manners, though Grinch's reaction to it really couldn't be seen for being covered with limbs and leaves in the midst of that tree.
Phoenix Shelley clearly waited for the other lions to quit speaking before answering Umicho, "I am Phoenix Shelley. Nice. Adventure." He murmured.

"It is nice to meet you as well Ilori." Saryichu nods and smiles then turns to the big lion in the tree. "Nice to meet you too Grinch..." She sits and looks down thinking of something to say or do. Being around males makes her very nervous for some reason she is unsure of.
Umicho smiles looking at Pheonix Shelly. "Good to meet you Pheonix Shelly. I'm really sorry i ran into you earlier." She stands and stretches, smoothing her fur to prevent it from drying in a weird way. "Want to play a game? It could be fun."
Saryichu looks over at Umicho, her ears perking up when she hears her talk about playing. She hurries over to the younger lioness, nudging her side gently. "Umicho, these lions have been very kind to help you. But we should go before we wear out our welcome. We don't want to be a bother to them" She is very obviously nervous, the fact showing in her body language and her voice.
She lowers her ears as the older lioness tells her they have to leave, a frown forming on her face. "But Saryichu...I kind of wanted to hang out with Pheonix Shelly...he's really nice." She sighs looking at the other lions.

Phoenix Shelley's ears perked in question at Umicho's query about playing a game, but then the other lioness interrupted. His ears fell. They were bothering them? Really? He hadn't thought so. At Umicho's beg, he turned around to look at Saryichu too, "Fun. Nice. Game?" He asked, voice full of question and anticipation.
Ilori snorted in something between amusement and endearment, "If Saryichu doesn't mind, I don't mind. Go play a fun, nice game. Don't get hurt."
"I don't think he's capable of being hurt! Do you see the messes he gets into every single day, Ilori?"
"Well, it could happen!" Ilori turned to eye the teenager. It was obvious he wasn't full grown, but he was very big, already the size of some smaller adults. He'd probably end up as big as Bowser...Which was saying quite a lot for the normal lion. Ilori shook his head. Well, he could still get hurt. He turned to Saryichu, "Down a little ways, the water gets very shallow, and it's clear. You can see small fish swimming around, too small to eat, but they're fun to watch. I could teach you to swim there." He offered. Up in the trees, Grinch let out gahrumping sound. Ilori looked up with some annoyance, "Or HE could." Clear challenge.
P.Shelley was completely unaware of the adults' conversation after Ilori said they should play a game. "Game! Yes! I...don't know...games? What game?" He looked expectantly at Umicho, he was willing to plunge into whatever it was she offered.

Umicho smiles at the clothed lion with a bright smile. "Really?? Thank you Ilori!" She turns away from Saryichu and walks excitedly back over to Pheonix Shelly, tail swishing behind her. "Well, we could hunt mice, fish, play tag, hide and seek...choose whatever you want to play."
Saryichu's ears perk up when she hears Ilori offer to teach her how to swim. She clears her throat nervously then looks at him tilting her head to the side. "T..teach me how to swim...? Really?" She blinks realising she stammered.

Phoenix Shelley considered all of those options, eyes very thoughtful as if it was a big decision. Then he smiled, "Hunt mice? Hunt fish?" He understood hunting, though games of tag and hide and seek he wasn't as clear on. He stood and peered into the water, "Or fish-mice!" It was said with a bit of a chortle. He wondered what a fish-mouse would be like.
"Unless you don't want to?" Ilori spoke hesitantly now at Saryichu's response.
"Of course she wants to, didn't you hear her earlier? No, of course not." Grinch snorted, climbing out of the tree and landing heavily on the ground, "It's good survival skills. Come on." He rounded in around behind he two and then started walking forward, almost as if to herd them in the correct directoin.

Umicho giggles hearing Pheonix Shelly say fish-mice. "Fish-mice? I don't think there is such a thing." She darts over to him and bats at his ear gently with a smile, then turns and runs off, carefully dodging the older lions. "Catch me if you can Pheonix Shelly!!!"
Saryichu looks at Ilori with a blush and a shy smile. "Oh! I do want to. It would help me greatly if you could..." She looks over at Grinch as he talks to Ilori about her response. She nods then follows Grinch walking to the water with the two lions.

Phoenix Shelley looked at Umicho with something of bewilderment.
Ilori happened to look back at that point and made a sound, "Go chase her! Catch her, tackle her, but don't really eat or hurt her. Ok?"
Oooh! With that explanation, Phoenix Shelley ran off after Umicho, "Fish-mouse you are!!! HAH!!!" He was going to catch up to her and pounce her and pretend to eat her! Yay!
"He doesn't have a brain of his own." Grinch muttered and padded to the water. He gave it a look of pure distaste, no at all amused even by the colorful fish that swam about in the clear water. As a matter of fact, that made him flatten his ears even more. "Ilori, come on!"
Ilori had no such qualms about the water. True to his nature, he bounded in without a second thought, and then looked around him and sat in the water when it proved not to be high enough for his tastes. Even sitting, if he held up his head enough, he could breath and talk freely, "Ok, first lesson. This is FUN, and it won't strike pack and hurt you!! Right, Grinch?"
"It won't strike back unless there's something in it." Grinch grumbled, not giving in to the fun aspect of it at all, "But you can see everything here, so there's nothing but... one fish..two fish...a red fish, and a blue fish..." He made a face, "Big and small stupid fish."

Umicho giggles hearing Pheonix Shelly yelling after her. She doubles back and jumps over him with a laugh, then turns and watches him, stopping for a moment to make sure she didn't hit him. Again.
Saryichu walks up to the water then stops, touching the surface with the tip of her paw gently. She hesitantly steps in, stopping when she is in the cool water up to her sides. Once she gets in that far she stops and looks at Ilori helplessly. "Now what...?"
