The wind nipped at the corpse-colored neck and flanks of the mare as she picked her way warily along the makeshift path along the side of the mountain. Rocks nicked her hooves, though she paid them little mind, more focused on keeping herself as far away from the steep drop as physically possible. Unlike her mother and brother, she was without the ability of flight. Falling is kind of bad for those like her.

At length, she rose to a more or less level section of the path, brow raising slightly in interest when it became clear the path also thickened, a wide cliff offering temporary refuge to rest her legs and allow her mind to wander. Glancing skyward, she scowled at how relatively little distance she'd made up the massive pile of rock. And she actually expected to cross to the other side of this thing? Going around wasn't a very easy option, so she'd have to find better means by going partially over.

"What a lovely mess you've gotten yourself into," she grumbled to herself, gaze directed downward as she nudged a loose rock off the edge, watching it plummet to the earth below. "What a fine mess, indeed."
