Hair/Eye Color : Alex's hair is bright red with undertones of gold. It is medium length and slightly curly so it always looks like he just rolled out of bed. His eyes are gray with flecks of gold and green.
Pet : An Egyptian Mau kitten named Grimalkin. Alex got him for Christmas after his dad was in North Africa.
Home Life :
Father- Eric McCoy, 40 is an intrepid traveler who works for the White Council, the American counterpart of the Ministry of Magic. He is a lighthearted man who loves traveling and being with his family. For the past three years he has been working on the same project, a series of spells hat will move natural disasters away from populated areas. The only times that he ever really gets to spend with his family are the holidays when he gets a small break.
Mother- Judy McCoy, 37 is a reporter with The Salem Chronicle an arcane newspaper for the northeast. She got her big break when she wrote a series of stories about the attack on Hogwarts. She then started traveling doing stories on world news when she met Eric. The two were married and moved back to Boston, where they live to this day. Judy now works from home so she can stay at home with Alex's little sister Jenny.
Younger Sister- Jenny McCoy, 10 is incredibly talented with magic, but her spells almost always go wrong because she is a bit scatterbrained. She tries her very hardest to please her family, but tends to mess up alot.
Diving deeper : Alex takes after his father in the fact that he is very light-hearted and tends to not take things seriously at all. He makes friends easily and will always take time out of his day, if need be, to listen if they have a problem and help them through it. He does well in school, but would much rather be reading for pleasure. He has a special soft spot for plant life and animals and can sometimes get lost in the gardens for hours just sketching and letting his mind wander. His biggest fear is falling from very high places, but for some reason he isn't bothered by the astronomy tower. When he graduates he wants to travel for a little bit, then go into journal ism like his mom.
Taking a closer look : Alex stumbled out of the History of Magic classroom with a yawn. "I am going to kill whoever scheduled me for History of Magic after astronomy." he thought to himself with mock hatred as he walked down the stairs to his dormitory. He got to the portrait on the wall and mumbled "Ehern Weiss" sleepily in the painting's general direction and thanked it as he jumped through the hole it made as it swung open.
He dropped his bag and fell into one of the more comfortable chairs next to the fire. He looked at his watch with heavy eyes and thought. "Okay, I can take a quick few minute nap before I need to leave for herbology." He shifted in his seat then closed his eyes and fell into a dreamless sleep.
