Maion flapped his mighty wings silently, he loved the night, the moon shimmered so magnificently on his black and white markings. They sparkled on his star markings and sometimes he swore that he saw them move under the light. But surely moving markings was impossible. Flying above the Ocean, his protective urges flooded over him like a might wave, he felt drawn to the ocean more than anywhere else in the world. It was a place of tranquillity and unspoken beauty. Yet it was easily damaged, the creatures and the waves needed constant vigilance. He would often spend hours simply circling the waves, watching his reflection move as a dark blur upon the surface. It was as if he never existed, this silent guardian of the Ocean.
He looked up to the sky above; the stars indicated that he had been circling the ocean for hours now. Exhaustion was starting to set in so he swooped towards the land once more; it was basked in a gentle ambiance from the moon. He loved how everything seemed darker allowing him to be camouflaged more effectively into his surroundings. Noticing a nice spot near a lake he set down on to the ground, his hooves hit the floor with a gentle patter, the grass was cool and slightly damp. Lowering his head he sipped gently at the cooling liquid from the lakes refreshing waves. His eyes wandered to the flickering colours across the surface, the light from the stars reflected and shimmered on top of the waves.
As he watched the surounddings he noticed every colour, he continued to take sips of the refreshing liquids. He lifted his head, his locks falling gracefully around his face onto his shoulders.

Resting just near the waters edge, Sengdroma drifted in and out of sleep. She had been resting long enough to barely be considered concious. Her markings, she had learned, camoflauged her body well amoung the water as a background. In the past, she came to realize that if she was still enough, most soquili would pass her by without even realizing she was there.
She had taken out on her own in search of knowledge now that she was a young adult, no longer under the constant watch of her mother and father. She had learned much from her parents, mainly compassion and loyalty, but she knew there must be more out there to learn.
In her subconcious state, her ears flickered slightly, perhaps at the sound fo a bug buzzing by or the wind through the not so distant trees. A deep breath escaped from her lungs as her dreams took over. She enjoyed the watery surroundings, the sounds of rippling liquid lulled her every night as she rested. In her state of being, she didn't hear the arrival of the stranger to her resting grounds.

Listening intently to his surroundings he closed his eyes, attempting to visualise any signs of life. The lake was teeming with them, frogs hopped happily along the shore watching their tadpoles swim happily within the cooling water towards the fish, they swam with a laziness under the moonlight. He imagined the light reflecting off their scales as if the lake became the night sky. As she continued to examine the surroundings he noticed a larger life form, it seemed like another Soquili yet his eyes had not originally detected a presence. Opening them again she scanned his surroundings pay particular attention to where he sensed the other creature. Stopping he smiled softly.
With one large step he entered the water, he created a small wave of movement but remained almost silent. The liquid was cooling and splashed against him with an unspoken elegance, just like the moon controlled the waves on the ocean he thought there must be something that controlled the lakes. Perhaps this creature was something to do with that, after all she appeared to merge gently into the surroundings. He noted her markings which each, it was a beauty that equalled the moon and the stars in the sky above. Flapping his wings once in an attempt to pull them closer to his body he slowly cocked his head to one side to examine her further.
As he watched her he believed that she was asleep, curious and wanting to ensure that she was not suffering he nudged her softly with his nose. Her muzzle was soft under his touch, standing back he waited to see if she would respond to his gentle wake up call. His lips pealed into a shape that resembled a crescent moon, it was a gentle smile illuminated by the moons gentle ambiance.

Stirring slightly at the touch of another, Sengdroma's eyes fluttered open as she lifted her head to see who had found her. Looking up, her eyes fell on a magnificent angeni. Her lips turned upward into a friendly smile. Her father, having sung the praises of the breed for their valor and good deeds, she slowly lifted her sleepy body to greet the stallion. Her father thought highly of the breed and had passed these beliefs on to his daughter. Sengdroma lowered her head in a humble greeting. She paused for a moment before lifting it again.
Her nose bobbed twice and her face still held her friendly smile. She seemed to be saying 'hello' to the stranger before her. Her ears pivoted and focused in on the stallion.
She had met only one other angeni, and she had been just a foal. He had words of wisdom and knowledge to share, she wondered if all angeni were like that. She stood there, willing to soak up any information he happened to share.
He was an elegant being. His coat dark as a moonless sky, yet he had markings that seemed to almost twinkle as the moonlight shifted through the trees. She stood silently in awe of him.

Maion smiled at her, her sleepy eyes where beautiful, the perfect shade of blue to get lost in for eternity. Blinking in a desperate attempt to stop starring at her beauty he smiled at her actions, perhaps she was a mute? A thought of a world of silence swept over him, although he didn’t say much he did say the odd word now and then.
Smiling towards her he nodded twice in reply before saying "Hello to you also." If she didn’t need to talk then perhaps he didn’t need to talk as much as usual with this mare? He lowered his head towards her and nuzzled her main softly before standing tall again and turning his head to the stars, perhaps she also enjoyed the stars?
They twinkled with an unspoken beauty; perhaps that’s where they could form a connection, a world of unspoken beauty and elegance. As his eyes took in the beauty he noted there was a shooting star, its tail of magnificent oranges and purples danced across the sky in a moment of utter brilliance. Perhaps it was a sign? Closing his eyes for a moment he wondered about what he could wish for, perhaps it was time to wish once more for his hearts deepest desire; it didn’t matter to him if it happened tomorrow or in years times. He just longed to find love, true love, a love that allowed him to open up and be himself without the worry of offending them. Impossible perhaps.
He looked back to the Earth, eyes wandering softly to her form once more. He smiled softly, before looking over her shoulder, it was a nice evening, and the owls sang softly from their tree perches, the crickets chimed their song of the night. Refocusing his attention to the pretty mare he decided to ask her to join him, "Walk?" and with that he walked towards the bank once more and started for the joys of the night.

Sengdroma's eyes fixed on the stallion as he gently nuzzled her in greetings. He seemed to be quite the gentleman, Sengdroma looked to the sky to thank whomever it was that had steered him in her direction, at that moment, she too saw the shooting star. She closed her eyes and made her wish, a silly wish. She wished for a friend, one that wouldn't shun her or make fun of her because she didn't speak. It was hard to get to know others...but it was her choice.
Opening her eyes, she yawned, then looked away quickly of embarassment. That was no way to start an evening. She snorted softly, then looked back to the stallion. She had no problem with eye contact, her eyes met his and she nodded to answer his question. Her father had taught her to read people, she was good at telling who was friend and who was foe. There had been slip ups in her youth, but she was much more in tune with other's now. She sensed no harm from this stranger.
She took a few slow steps towards him as he began to walk away, she was curious, always curious. Her head tilted and she stopped, she nickered, a pondering look on her face. She seemed to be asking why he was there. Sengdroma had spent many a night next to that particular lake, she'd never seen him before. She rarely saw any soquili there, especially at night.

Maion continued to walk slowly in the direction he had originally indicated and then for some reason he stopped and turned towards the mare. She had stopped also, and for some reason her eyes told him that she was examining him, everyone seemed to do that, he felt almost as if there eyes were attempting to see straight through him. Without attempting to be threatening he stretched his wings high into the air, the breeze flowed gently between them capturing the small feathers in an attempt to ruffle them up. Slowly he brought his wings tightly back towards his body.
Although he couldn’t tell what she was thinking he wanted to try and make her feel more comfortable around him, he loved the night, had travelled all over the world stopping in many different places, each different. Out of them all this was one of his favourite so far, after all there was such a beautiful aura coming from the fragile mare that merged so perfectly in the water. He felt a connection with her, he was the night and she was as graceful as the Ocean, the very thing that he had sworn to protect with every ounce of strength in his body. He smiled softly looking at her eyes closely. "Name’s Maion." Although he felt she should know about his connection with the Ocean he felt that now was not the time.
He looked to the stars and then down at her again, perhaps he should talk slightly more to her, maybe that would encourage her to join him on a walk. "I travel a lot." He turned back towards the path he had indicated them to walk in the shimmering moonlight, turning his attention to the stars he smiled and before he could catch himself from saying it allowed his voice sprang into life, strong and firm. "You are as beautiful as the stars."
A sudden wave of embarrassment swept over him like a flowing wave from the Ocean. How could he have allowed himself to say such a objective statement, he wouldn’t be surprised if she refused point blank to walk with him now, he shock his power head in an attempt to bring himself back to reality, his main gentle dances around his head in small waves of black and silver that captured the twinkling light from the sky above. Snapping out of his moment of weakness he regained his composure and smiled, walking softly in the direction he had been heading in originally, he turned his head softly to look at her and then used it to indicate that she could still join him. He was determined to reserve his words now after his small slip up.

She watched in awe as he moved his wings, she would have loved to have known what it was to fly. Some of her siblings had the gift, but she was one of the three that didn't. Her eyes widened as he lifted them before pulling them in to his body, they were beautiful, just like the rest of him.
Her ears flickered and she snapped out of her 'trance' as he spoke to her again. A bit embarassed that he had caught her staring at him, she just cast another smile. Being several yards apart now, Sengdroma quickly trotted up close to him after he introduced himself. She nodded, ensuring him that she had heard him. Her tail begain to slowly move from side to side, a signal that she was relaxed.
As the stallion complimented her, Sengdroma noted that he seemed to be extremely embarassed. She had not been complimented before by anyone other than her own family, she wasn't quite sure what the proper way to respond was. She made her way to the stallion's side, stretching out her neck so that her soft muzzle could reach his neck. Gently she nuzzled him in appreciation and thanks.
Sengdroma didn't talk to others, it wasn't that she couldn't talk, she just chose not to. Her head tilted as she took in the words and actions of this stallion, there seemed to be...something about him. Her eyes gently flowed over him as she pondered, it would take more time, but she wondered... She shook her head, more to herself than to him, it was much too early to be thinking of such things.

Maion was surprised by her elegant movements towards him, and by the way she nuzzled his neck softly, it was strangely comforting. Her fur felt slightly cooler than he expected, though he imaged that he was simply warmer due to his thick main acting as an insulator. Yet he liked her touch, almost longed for more of it, yet he knew deep down that now was not the time for that. Regaining his composure he shrugged off the feelings. It seemed almost as if she was thanking him, although he had no knowledge now of what he had done, his mind was blank.
Forgetting what he was doing for a moment he allow his eyes to scan her body, to note the gentle flowing of her tail as she moved it gently, small wisps of hair were caught in the wind moving in a fluid motion. She was enchanting to him, and although he couldn’t tell if she was a mute or chose not to speak it didn’t matter to him, silence sang out just as loudly in his mind. As he tore his eyes away from her he looked to the landscape once again the night was so enchanting, the stars twinkled above and floated towards the tree line like glowering fireflies. He had never noticed that before.
"Fancy…" He paused for a moment, it sounded so cliché to him just asking for a walk, after all everyone seemed to do that and although he wanted to spend more time with her he didn’t want this encounter to be simply like any other encounter he had experienced. As his mind desperately tried to think of something different they could do. A sudden flash of inspiration came to him; the night’s song rang clearly within his ears. Crickets chimed their song, owls hooted softly as their voices floated gracefully on the wind, and the faint rippling noise from the lake rang clear and true as the frogs sang their songs of courtship as the dragonflies zoomed among the reeds. The music was as magical as she was, so with an uncertainty he spoke once more, "…dancing with me?"

As Maion looked away and towards the sky, Sengdroma's eyes followed his gaze finding the glittering specks far above their heads. It was a beautiful night, the sky was clear and the breeze cool to the touch. Her tail continued to flow from one side to the other in a gently motion.
She heard Maion's question, her head turned towards him and tilted ever so slightly. Dance? Sengdroma wasn't sure that she knew how to do that, did every soquili dance? She made a few steps to turn her body to face Maion, gently she swayed from side to side as if posing the question, "Did you say dance?"
This stallion was like none she had met before. He was a 'gentle giant' it seemed, much larger than she and her petite frame. There seemed to be..something about him though, a protectiveness aura illuminated from his stance. She wanted to know more, she hoped she would have plent of time, now and in the future, to get to know him better.
She watched as the breeze caught loose strands of his mane, gently flowing with currents around his face. She smiled, certainly he was handsome. Not speaking came with some perks, at least it guaranteed...almost, that she wouldn't make a fool of herself in front of him.

Maion stood dumbfounded before her, he wasn’t entirely sure what she was trying to communicated due to a wave of embarrassment flooding his mind, questions whirled around and around in an endless circle of confusion. Did she not know how to dance? Perhaps she was offended by the mere suggestion? Maybe it was him? There must be something wrong with him? The questions moved with such ferocity that they were exhausting, he felt like his head would explode or that he may explode into floods of tears. He stamped a hoof softly on the ground; it melted into the soft mud sinking slightly.
Desperately attempting to suppress these feelings and thoughts he tried to smile, and as he did he felt Elijah move softly inside his main, perhaps she had also noted his uncertainty about the situation, yet for some reason he could not think, he looked at the mare before him, she was all that filled his mind. It was a strange feeling, it had never experienced it before, and perhaps he was scared in case he made a fool of himself? The next thing he knew Elijah had made her way to his ear and stroked it softly in an attempt to calm him, he had no idea what impression he was giving but in his moment of sheer panic it didn’t seem to make a difference. Elijah then whispered some words softly in his ear, her voice was so high pitched and at that very moment it seemed higher than ever. "I think she wants to dance."
Calming slightly he regained his composure once more, despite his intimidating size he had always acted like a stammering teenager around the opposite gender, clumsy and uncertain about himself. Yet Elijah had always had a talent for calming him down, she was also really good at picking up on the emotions of others when he didn’t have his full attention on the situation. He took a step towards the mare, placing his head softly neck to her neck, "I hope you don’t mind." He said softly in an effort to redeem himself, his head began to race as he took a deep breath, she smelt divine and the nights song was still loudly rumbling in his ears. Its now or never he thought to himself as he shifted his weight to the wound of the world around him, then he suddenly realised that she may not be able to hear everything he could so he gently started to hum a soft tune under his breath in an effort to encourage her to join in with him. Yet something told him that it didn’t matter if she didn’t dance with him, there was something about her that him fascinated.

Sengdroma could sense his uncertainty, she let out a soft snort before he moved in to rest on her neck. She smiled, it was an odd sort of charming to see a stallion so nervous. As he rested his neck against hers, she gently used her nose to once again nuzzle his neck up close to his mane. Her way of 'approving' of the situation.
She wasn't sure exactly how to begin, so she waited for his lead. She would do her best to follow, though she couldn't be certain how clumsy she would be at this talent. She couldn't hear the song that Maion was listening to, or perhaps she was just so wrapped up in the moment that she wasn't paying close enough attention.
Sengdroma closed her eyes as she waited for him to begin, she needed to feel him move so that she could follow his steps. With her eyes closed, she imagined the scene that was about to unfold. She wondered if they would look as magnificent to the creatures watching as they looked in her mind. Her smiled widened as she continued to watch her mental picture, laughing silently at herself for thinking such silly things. She had just met this stallion, yet, she was already melting because of his charm.
Her body relaxed a bit more, sinking her almost into his coat. She could feel the pulse of his heart and could hear his breath as he drew each one in to his lungs. She could get lost in the song, but it was his song she was listening to, not nature's.

He allowed his mind to indulge in her gentle touch, her embrace was warming and although her flesh had a cooling affect on his own it was comforting. His lips turned up to form a soft smile as he felt her heart beat softly next to his neck. It was steady, like clockwork. Continuing to hum his gently song he moved his body softly, he had the intention to turn a complete circle and wondered if she would follow him or not. He allowed he hooves to move softly with each beat of the tune, he head gently guiding her, encouraging her to follow his actions.
Allowing himself to close his eyes he saw a scene fly through his mind of butterflies bumping into each other gracefully, their playful nature was always a sign of grace, beauty and love. He wondered if one day he would find the butterfly he was destined to flutter with, his stomach gave a small jolt at this thought. Perhaps the butterflies inside of him had considered the possibility that he already had. His smile increased, he felt almost as if he was a Cheshire cat and he prayed that she could not see his dopey looking smile.
Longing for this moment to last he continued dancing with her.

As he had hoped, Sengdroma could not see his face as they dance, a shame. She smiled as well, knowing he looked radiant as they moved along to the tune he hummed for them to dance to. Slowly her hooves rose and fell along with his, her body slowly turning as he guided her to move in a cirlce. She knew the stars shone brightly above them, she imagined the moonlight beaming down, almost as a soft spotlight that lit the pair up and nothing else.
Uncounciously her body pressed into his a bit more, she felt his muscles ripple and move beneath his coat, the moment seemed perfect. Her mind was racing with thoughts. She wondered what intentions this stallion had, she hoped it wouldn't be a one time meeting ending with him flying away and she never seeing him again. Was it possible to fall for someone in a first meeting? Possible, perhaps, but certainly not rational. Sengdroma had always tried to keep her wits about her in every situation, she found it increasingly hard to do with Maion at her side.
She shook her head ever so slightly, hardly enough to notice, trying to shake away the thoughts so that she could just enjoy the time she spent with him, even if it possibly was just a one off encounter. Her breathing slowed and deepened as they moved, after a few more steps, she was lost in his magic.

Step after step, note after note he loved every moment. He allowed himself to peek at the world around, her hair waved softly towards his nose tickling it softly as the wind caught it, it floated just like leaves upon the water, elegance and grace had nothing to do with it. Although the words of his mother rang through his mind with a great flurry of distaste he couldn’t help but feel that she would have disapproved of this situation yet as he embraced the moment that thought seemed somehow meaningless. Suppressing it he continued to sway softly with her by his side, he nuzzled his nose gently into her neck and with each movement he hoped that it would never end. Closing his eyes once more he continued to embrace the moment.
He danced with her for what seemed like a small eternity yet it past in such a flash and flurry of time that he wondered if they would ever meet again. As his tune ended he stood still, his head nestled softly in her neck, the locks of her hair caressing his face gently. The breeze blew with a gentle kindness that licked his fur in a soft warmness that complimented that of the mare before him. After a moment he pulled his head away, he didn’t want his actions to be considered as inappropriate and he had no intention of taking advantage of her. He lowered his head softly as well as one leg so that he was in a low bow of respect for her, slowly he brought his shoulders back up towards the sky, his fur blending perfectly with the night sky that shimmed magnificently above him. Standing tall once more he smiled at her, his wings fluttered gently behind him as the breeze made them wave softly with its caressing movements.
"Thank you," his smile was unwavering as he looked at her. He did not know her name, or much about her yet he felt like he needed to call her something, a nickname of sorts. His mind wandered to images that equalled her unchanging beauty. His love for the Ocean, the stars and the Moon flickered in his mind like a moving storybook. Perhaps she could be compared to one of those, after all each held a special place in his heart even if they could not compete with the impact she had had upon him from a simple encounter. He felt that he was now like the waves in the Ocean, moving to the will of the mighty Moon as it shone in its full glory high in the sky above, untouchable and unobtainable, yet despite that it was rumoured that the Ocean never stopped trying. He had decided, she was his Moon, so he spoke once more, his words attempted to appear strong yet there was a touch of nervousness laced in his expression, "my Moon lady."
