Lanette walked along side Rex, her lips pursed as she soaked in the moonlight. Her tail twitched when Rex or her rustled or made any slightest sound. She was used to the quiet and loneliness. Now that she didn't have the excuse for being lonely, things were slinking into awkwardness. She cleared her throat and looked over to Rex. "So..you know about me.. what about you?"

 The helix looked at his female companion as he walked alongside her and answering his question he said "my father is the alpha male of the pack, and my older brother is the one second in line after him, they are both quite skilled trackers and considered the best anyone has ever seen, so I grew tired of living under their shadow and decided to leave the pack and find my own destiny, that's why I am travelling all around the world to meet new creatures and see what is out there,"
feeling that he had answered her question the best he could he stopped talking, his emerald eyes shifted towards hers and he asked her "and what about you Lannette? why are you wandering the world? you could have settled in a territory of your own or joined a pack couldn't you?"

Lanette shrugged, not really knowing how to answer his question. "..I just never found anyone that I would stay with.. they'd want to break away or I would.. nothing really lasted.." Her shoulder slumped and she looked ahead of them, Rex and her now engrossed in bamboo and tree's. The moon light barely filtered through the tree tops, spots and blotches all over the ground Rex and her walked on.

Rex nodded to her as he lept on walking they entered a new forest he hadn't been to before, and thus he kept his guard up sniffing the air every few miutes to check around them for anything, he then turned to look at Lannette, the way her fur glows at night was quite attractive actually, he smiled as he continued walking besides her before he asked her "Lannette, are you hungry?"

Lanette was again drug from her silence as Rex broke through. "Oh.. not really." She ate few days ago but her usual time between meals was about five. She didn't enjoy hunting, taking a life not hers to take. She smiled a little at him, the light that came down onto his eyes made them shine brightly into a lime like green. "Your eyes..are really pretty." She mumbled quietly, and them looked forward, her expression blank again.

Rex smiled as he heared her compliment, he walked closer to her and said "thank you for those sweet words Lannette, you are quite beautifull," he said those words in a softer tone than his usual one, ofcourse the fact that he was abit awkward around females didn't help him, he wanted to tell her more but he's just not good with words so he settled for that line as his eyes kept examining her features,

She nodded her head, "Thank you.." she whispered, still looking forward. It was abnormally quiet, the sound of the night creatures was silent, the only noise autoble was the wind, blowing the leaves and air around them. Her eyes scanned around them and she froze. A tiger lurked not 20 yards from them. "Rex.." she whispered in urgency, her eyes piercing the deadly creature not far.

Rex didn't even turn to where she pointed and said "I know, I cought her scent a few seconds ago, she's got her young with her so she won't do anything to us, I cought their scent along with hers as well, so just walk on ahead, as long as we don't bother her she won't bother us, the one I'm worried about is the male around these parts, they are the aggressive ones," he said as he raised his snout again as high as he could sniffing the air around them to make sure that it's safe,

Lanette moved as close as possible to Rex, her body pressing against his side. Many helix's in her pack had been injured by tigers, especially tigress' with young. They were the more dangerous than any territorial males. But she didn't speak up against him. She was to afraid of the tigress' attention to draw away from her cubs.

Rex felt her concern as she pressed against him, he could even feel her heart beat and t was increasing, he pressed his head against hers as he said "trust me with this one, if we do not threaten her cubs she won't harm us," he then smiled and moved infront of her looking straight into her eyes and blocking her view of the tigress as he said "why don't we do this together and slowly, one step at a time, okay"

Lanette took a step back in surprise as Rex blocked her path. "..okay.." she whisper as quietly as she could. "Lead the way..." she kept her volume at her lowest, waiting for him to get her out of this dangerous place. She missed the rock she usually slept on until he came her way. Shaking with nervousness, she remained froze until Rex gave the okay.

Rex smiled and said "why don't you stick close to my side and move with me?" he said to her calmly as he moved back to his position at her right and pressed against her, that way when they passed by the tigress he'd be the one infront of her should anything happen,

Lanette nodded as her body moved with his exactly. His left leg went forward and so did hers. His right, her right. She mad sure to keep with his pace, curling her tail to the side so that it was hidden completely. Then it occurred to her, the tigress would think he was alone. Would she take him for easy prey? It dawned on her so suddenly that she didn't care anymore. Letting her body relax, she picked up her place, making sure that the tigress would see her if she spotted Rex.

Rex looked back at Lannette who fell a few inches behind him, if it seemed that he was alone the tigress would just ignore him never giving him a second thought, but now that they are two and with Lannette appearing out of nowhere the female will be paying more attention to the two, tigers don't attack other carnivores unless it's for defence, he then said to her in a hushed voice "Lannette, stick close to me, she's paying more attention to us now that you appeared in her sights as well, just follow me casually and everything will be okay,"
her youth might cause her to misunderstand some things about the nature and creatures around them, but it seems like such an appealing quality in her, he smiled as he looked into her glowing eyes and said "c'mon Lannette let's move forward,"
