[[ Quiet chords from my guitar... ]]
The rocks were worn smooth by years and years of predictable tides washing over them.
Perfect.
Malagueño had been outside for some time now, watching the first pricks of stars appear in that blanket of a sky, the fire flying from the sun as it set over the seaward horizon. He didn't like being outside by himself, but Caden and Cavalier had long since lost interest in just enjoying the scenery and had gone back to the house for dinner. He, however, was much too content at the moment to even think about eating. With this fantastic view in front of his eyes? No way he was just going to... to... get up and leave.
Splaying himself out across the sun-warmed boulder, his tail hung over the side, twitching back and forth every now and then as his ice blue eyes took in the sight of the moon rising from seemingly nowhere.
This was the life.

Ruyaa quietly walked along the beach, her familiar flew over head snapping at insects silently. She picked up a scatter rock here and there. She already had a few gathered and placed in a small leather bag that hung at shoulder. Ruyaa liked how pretty the beach rocks were; smooth...soft...beautiful.
Lightly trotting she dazed at the rising moon with her dark violet eyes. The shimmering image in the nearly still water was placid. She loved being here especially on what looked to be another beautiful night.
She sighed and sat down in the cool sand; rolling her rocks in her right paw she thought about her uneventful day.

He had been just about to take his leave when Malagueño spotted the paler one sauntering down the beach, stopping every now and then. He froze, strands of his mane falling past his shoulders as he shifted. Stretched out like a lion, his tail curled in anticipation behind him. Unfamiliar, yes; but at the same time his inner urge to to be friendly and open beat fiercely against his hesitation.
Bounding to his feet, he slid from the rock with ease and padded down the shore, a soft bounce in his step. His tail twitched again, claws catching in the soft, cool sand left from the higher tides. The wind picked up a bit and blew his mane past his face, ruffling it in all sorts of places.
"Hello," he called once he had reached a suitable speaking distance, "I'd ask if you came here often, but I'm sure the answer is no and you'll tell me that line is too cliched." He grinned a manic grin, chuckling softly before his eyes caught a glimpse of the smooth stones she was holding.
"Oh?" He inquired, quirking a brow and deciding to edge just a little bit closer to look at them, "Did you find those here? They're beautiful..."

Ruyaa'a ears twitched as she heard someone approach. Turning her head she wondered who else would be around at this time. She watched the dark figure, still rolling the rocks in her paw.
Deciding that it would be proper she stood up to greet him. Loose sand fell off her and blew away in the light breeze.
"Hello there." She smiled back at him.
"Actually I was going to ask you the same thing..." she laughed slightly. She looked down at the rocks in her paw.
"Yeah...I find most of my rocks here for my collection..." Smooth...I'm such a dork. She blushed. "They are very pretty..." She trailed off while looking down at them.
"So what's up? I don't think you are out here collecting rocks!" She laughed. "I'm Ruyaa by the way." She stuck out her paw to shake his. She seen her human do it one time on meeting someone and assumed it was appropriate.

Malagueño's grin only widened as the other demon didn't turn and flee, but rather returned his greeting. "I come here once a week," he laughed, nodding his head towards way down the shore several pinpricks of light sat on the horizon. "I live that way, but the view is much better over here."
He barely noticed the blush on her face, still fascinated with the rocks she had collected. "I think they're fantastic," he said, lifting his eyes to meet with hers, "No one at home collects anything at all. Pretty boring guys, I guess." He laughed, head tilting sideways just a little bit.
"I was sun-gazing." he replied simply, grinning at how ridiculous it sounded, "I came out here to watch the sun set. I'm Malagueño." He lifted his paw as well, following her gesture and (a bit clumsily), shook her paw in return. He chuckled softly. "It's a pleasure."
His eyes wandered from hers down to the rocks, out to the sea, and finally back to her face again. "Do you live near here, then?" he inquired, tail curling behind him, "Or are you just traveling all over the place? Though traveling would be cool, now that I think of it..."

Ruyaa flicked the hair out of her face."Collecting stuff is so much fun though....it's like a mini mission!" she laughed.
"Sunsets are very lovely....especially when there are purdy fluffy clouds around. "She smiled warmly and looked out towards where the sun use to be. Small stars started to show their face.
"I live up the coast in the nearest town with my human in her apartment." She nodded. "So you said you live around here too correct? Do you have any brothers or sisters?" She placed the the rocks into her bag and looked back up at him.

"I never looked at it that way~" Malagueño crooned in response, wriggling where he stood, "I always thought that everything was just nice to look at later and remember what a time you had finding it." He flashed a broad, toothy grin, a giggle rising from the back of his throat.
"They're the best," he started, eyes looking out for a moment at where the sun had rested just a little while ago, "But I this especially when you have a friend or two along with you." His tail curled in contentment behind him, brushing against the damp sand and leaving swooping, gentle marks.
"Yeah, 'bout a mile up shore," he said, grinning broadly, "I don't have any brothers or sisters, but I have family... of sorts. I call them my family at least, and they all act like one." He wriggled a bit again as he listened to the rocks clack pleasantly together in her bag. "What about you? Friends, siblings, family? Or is just your human and you?"

Ruyaa thought about her 'family' "Well...I don't have any blood related brothers or sisters but I treat most of the younger demons the same as if they were my brothers and sisters." She smiled. "Though there is one that troubles me..." She thought of Nori on how rude she could be at times and a sad look formed on her face. She didn't want to be hated by anyone in her family. "One of my sisters...just isn't as nice as the rest of us....that's all." She laughed to try and seem less troubled by her.
" My human Pandora takes care of us and her first demon Radek." She brushed sand off her foot. "I guess he would be considered the closest father figure I ever had..." She nodded.
"SoooOoooo..." she laughed and looked around up at the sky. A shooting star trailed across and she began to lightly hum.

"Close enough, right?" Malagueño smiled over at her, eyes gleaming softly in the gentle moonlight that was steadily rising. "We have our pair of trouble makers in the house, too." His eyes rolled playfully at the thought of Lieutenant and River, both headstrong in their own right. In the same house, well... it was absolutely terrifying. He shuddered at bit at the thought, hoping that Lieutenant would have gone to be from her nightly prowling by the time he got back to the house.
"Sounds like Captain," he mused aloud, "Except nicer." He offered a smile to her. "He's been around for much longer than me, but he's not exactly the nicest guy... not mean, but he's just not warm and fuzzy, that's all."
Malagueño's eyes moved towards the sky and the horizon again, catching sight of the shooting star just as it disappeared from view. "I wonder where they go to," he said suddenly, "The stars, that is. The shooting ones. Y'know?"

"Yeaaaah..." She dipped her head down and smiled up at him. "Oh Nori is beyond 'warm and fuzzy." She chuckled. "I like that saying...warm and fuzzy. It makes be think of cute cuddly things...yeah now I'm rambling!" She giggled and blushed.
She peered back up at the sky. "The shooting stars..." She paused and thought. "Khami once told me they are pieces of space rock that burn up as they enter our atmosphere..." She laughed and nodded "yep! so they pretty much burn up...kaput!" She grinned from her smug answer and began to sing Twinkle Twinkle Little Star softly.

A soft giggle came from Malagueño's throat, shaking his head. "It's okay to ramble," he stated, watching her face for a moment, "The stuff that comes out... among other things it's usually a good conversation starter." He couldn't help the big, goofy grin that spread on his face, tail curling contentedly behind him.
"You're... serious, right?" he asked, questioning her explanation with a look of utter disbelief, "They're big rocks that fly through the sky? Well, then..." he trailed off, eyes watching another shoot by while his ears swiveled to listen to her soft audiation. He remainined quiet for a moment, content to hear the song rather than comment.
After a minute or so, he began to quietly hum along, having caught on to the tune; it was something he had never heard before.

She paused for a second when he joined in then continued the well know childrens' song to the end. Her face was warm when she finished. The waves lightly rolled onto the shore; making their own music as they moved over the smooth pebbles.
“I tend to ramble a lot…”She hung her head for a moment then shifted her footing. “Sure I’m serious, silly!” she held her paw over her mouth as she giggled. “I’d love to be up there…flying around too like them.” She popped up on her back legs and jumped onto the lower beach imitating she could fly. “Well maybe not burning up like them!” She gasped. “But it must be lovely…and scary to be up so high!” She peered up in awe. “Wouldn’t it be nice to fly, Malagueño?”
