You can't have a Jrock guild without X Japan, you just can't. They are one of the most influential bands in Japanese Rock History, no matter how you look at it or if you like them or not. Plus, I've never seen a song even half as long as Art of Life.. Ever.
Members- Yoshiki- Leader, Drums. hide- Guitar. Toshi- Vocals. Taiji (~1992) Heath (1992~) Pata- Guitar.

Yeah... I think Say Anything might be my favorite... it sends me into visual shock every time. It's hard to say though, I love Tears, for the song, and for the meaning behind it. The first song I ever heard was Silent Jealousy.
Yo-sama yo eien ni!

My Gods, I can't believe we didn't have an X Japan thread before now... I'm so ashamed. They were so great, one of my favorites. Unfortunately, I have known people who didn't like them... and I don't see how anyone could not like them. They've got a great style and their ballads are so beautiful. I'm also impressed with how good Toshi's english is.
I look at them as the Gods of Visual Kei, because I believe it was them who really got the VK movement going. <3

Logic says Toshi, but I was listening to some of Yoshiki's solo stuff (Virginity/ Unnamed Song) and the voice is starting to sound more like his.

I sadly don't have all that many songs, I should get some more once my laptop works again. On here I have maybe 4. The first song I heard was Last Song by the way.. Kind of odd. XD

From what I've seen of people that don't like them, it's mainly because they say X Japan didn't start Jrock when everybody seems to think they did. I think that's a crappy reason not to like them, for something that isn't their fault.

After all, EVERY SINGLE J-rock band (that I've researched) can be traced back to Yoshiki, and all of the big names specifically list X-Japan as their inspiration.

Exactly, so even after the band itself was done X still has had a lot of influence on the Jrock world. hide as well, since he became probably the most well known and now legendary Jrockers during and after his time with X Japan.
