Micarreth Barrith felt...bloody well SORE! In a foolish attempt to speed up his training he had thrown his weight around a bit with the Weapons Master of his house and demanded daily weapons training from the older male. While the Weapons Master had eagerly embraced the challenge of turning the scrawny youngest Barrith into a powerhouse and perhaps gaining the young mans favor...Micarreth was seriously reconsidering how badly he wanted to master all of the weapons he had picked. Long sword, dagger, whip, scyth, staff, spear, axe, short bow, hand crossbow, damn normal cross bow.... his hands felt like the skin had been practiced right off from them! Even a long soak in a hot bath had not completely eased the ache of his muscles. And he had lessons tomorrow as well!!

It was only the beloved phantom taste of ale on his tongue that had convinced him to redress and head on out to a tavern. A different one then the one he had met Tal in. he did not want to risk running into the mage in the condition he was in. He wasn't nearly prepared to start their little bartering of information. Ugh, he didn't even want to think about that failed set up! Mages mages mages! They were all vithin pains in his black rear! His brother was acting oddly now and that made Micar nervouse himself. What he needed was a good weak ale, and a good target that could not handle strong ale. Mmm. Yes. A little fun really would be what he needed right now...

Stepping into the tavern he'd choosen, Micarreth took a moment to smooth down his black and crimson outfit. His fingers slid over the area's where his hidden items were kept, feeling out the bumps so as to ensure they were not loose. Yes, everything seemed in place...now...to find a target....the bar tended to be the place where loner drow gathered. They normally were the ones whom had no strong allies in the general area, and as such were the best choices. After all, that was how he got Rak'neer!

Triel'aun was of no interest to anyone else in the tavern. He was sitting in a corner booth, cloaked and hooded. He was merely the suspicious figure of the night; it was clear to everyone else just through his dress and location that he was certainly up to something shady. And of course he was! The Necromancer-in-training was passing information on his house away quite efficiently tonight.

A new tavern and a new crowd had followed after his last failed leaking. The last thing he needed was to be found out by his house; as far as they knew he was extremely loyal, though the matron had already expressed some suspicion. Luckily for himself his sister was a power in the house of Kil'rahel and she was foolish enough to believe him completely merely because she favored him. Vas'ryna surely wouldn't let anything ill befall him concerning this. Being loyal to one woman had paid off at least.

Triel'aun's eyes flicked up briefly as someone new entered the musty tavern but he was quick to decide the other Drow was of no interest. Probably just another person here looking to amuse himself; that was the main crowd at this place. Triel'aun sighed in boredom and slumped in his chair, staring at the door with a blank and slightly frustrated expression. Wasn't there anyone who wanted classified information on the prestigious house of Kil'rahel today?

Yet boredom would be something the young Drow would have to face. He couldn't exactly speak up about what he was doing. The last thing he wanted was his head on his matron's platter.

Well... damn...

There was no one at the bar when Micar approched it. That made tis rather difficult for him then. He simply couldn't wander up to a random table and strike up a conversation! That would be suspicious and he'd never be able to achive what he wished in this way. Folks sitting at tables generally choose such in order to distance themselves from others. They were like small islands of solitude in Micarreths mind.

This did crimp things. Perhaps he should try another tavern? Wander about the room maybe as if he were looking for someone and then leave? Bah! his feet ached enough as it was and he didn't want to keep standing on his sore legs. Micar wanted to sit down already and drink up something fuzzy.

Passing by the tables and such on his way to the bar, Micar cast his gaze about in a searching manner. There were not even many individuals to choose from either. Just a few drow caught up in their own thoughts, a pair whispering together, some sulky guy in a corner booth. There just was no one who looked like he could mess with at all. He stopped at the bar, and took up a seat with his back to it. Someone would end up making eye contact with him eventually...then he'd figure out what to do from there...

Triel'aun frowned softly to himself as he scanned the bar yet again, quite apparently annoyed at this point. Was anyone even coming? Should he save himself from accusations and just return to his house now? A sour expression took up the young Drow's facial features and he threw the hood of his cloak off, slumping further into the booth. There. He was Triel'aun Kil'rahel. Nothing suspicious here. Perhaps the agent he'd seen following him earlier would come in and find him here. There was only one problem with this.

He was doing absolutely nothing. The Drow growled in annoyance, pushing himself roughly out of the seat he'd been in before to stalk up to the bar, throwing a piercing gaze to the bartender. "Ale." He spoke, not looking to elaborate yet frowning when he saw he was being poured one of the stronger spirits. Not that it mattered; he hadn't been planning on drinking any, anyway. It was merely a prop.

He waited impatiently to be handed the drink, throwing a few coins at the bartender after he'd gotten and smirking at the man's inability to catch them. Now he merely had to make the choice of whether to go back and sit in the dark corner or if he should stay here; not really a hard decision to make when he knew his mother's agents were hot on his trail. Triel'aun seated himself next to Micarreth with an exaggerated sigh, ignoring the fact that this behavior was completely out of place in the tavern.

So maybe it really hadn't been the best move as far as lack of suspicion.

"Shadowdark Ale" Micarreth ordered his drink when he heard the barkeeper behind him. He did not turn around when he heard the pop of the cork, or the chugging sound of the cheap ale being poured into a clean mug (Or so he hoped). Micarreth did not even turn around when he heard the thunk of the mug on the counter. He merely laid the coppers he had in his pocket onto the table top and continued his examination of the room.

It was about then that the 'sulky' drow in his booth seemed to fling himself back. Well...if there wasn't a pissy drow if he ever saw one! Micarreth picked up his mug and took a small sip from it. Something had him rather agitated. Wonder what that was?

He watched as the drow walked to the bar and rather angerly placed his order. Yup. He was uptight and upset. Something was not going right perhaps? Micarretch let his eyes rake over the male when he sat down beside him and gave such a sigh. He was inviting trouble wasn't he? Or at least attention by Micarreths observation. Micar took another sip of his drink and leaned back against the bar. What to say...what to say...

"So... I'd have to be blind if I didn't recognise a agitated male. Is it female troubles?"

Triel'aun's ruby eyes flicked up to assess the stranger suddenly speaking to him. He frowned, trying to decide whether to answer or not. Once he'd made his decision he snorted softly. "They only think they have all the power." He spat out a bit spitefully, immediately clamping his mouth shut and scanning the area around himself a bit surreptitiously.

He'd been stupid in a moment of impulse. He shook his head, looking away completely from the other male. "Never mind." Came his grim mutter as he took his mug of ale and took a decidedly long drink of it. He hadn't intended to drink, but he was indeed stressed; the power of speech would surely put him in danger if he kept it in use. Not that this hadn't already put him in danger.

He could never quite find it in himself to shut up; to have words pent up felt dangerous. He had to burst at times. Still, this probably was not the time nor the place; treasonous talk was just as bad as being traitorous. Having both accusations stacked against him could be a grave offense.

Micarreths brow perked at the other drows blashphemous words. Either he was overly bold...granted brazen courage via alcoholic means...or a real dim wit. Micar assumed that he could work equally well with either of the three guesses. He took a sip from his drink to buy himself some thinking time.

"Well, for only thinking they have it, they certainly are putting on a grand show with all us males lending in to that illusion." Micarreth replied softly into his mug. The other male may not think or care about others over hearing him, but Micarreth certainly wanted him to be the only one that heard his words!

Triel'aun's eyes fixed on his mug as he listened to the other Drow speak. "That is because our whole society is made of weaklings with no real power." He glared dully ahead. "Luckily it is entertaining." A wicked smirk played on the Necromancer's lips. He knew he was probably saying much too much, but he couldn't resist. He believed all of his words.

"Women always appear stronger, but it is entirely possible to manipulate them." His talk was treasonous, he knew, but he already had a small buzz due to the alcohol. He took another gulp, not looking at all bothered and merely more relaxed. No one else in the bar appeared to be paying any attention anyway. They didn't care and they shouldn't have. Ah, well. Perhaps if he kept talking like this the person he'd seated himself next to would leave, anyway.

"Oh I don't know..." Micarreth slowly and cautiously replied. Yes. He had decided the other drow had been drinking a bit too much. That was the only reason he'd be so vocal as this. The power of the females was very tight fisted after all, he couldn't imagin a drow speaking like this out of habit. "I think there is plenty of power in our society. It is just a matter of obtaining it. Now you may not have much power but I certainly can say I do."

It wasn't only women that could be manipulated. Micarreth knew this for a fact. Though a sour lesson lately had instilled far more caution in him then he normally felt. By now normally he'd be planning something unpleasent for the male next to him,but fun for himself.... In this case though he decided to be far more cautious. "You should be a bit quieter with your words friend. You wouldn't want the wrong ears to hear. But I admire your boldness in speaking them. Perhaps I could buy you anoyher drink when your done with that one?"

Triel'aun frowned. "Power is a lie." He murmured, narrowing his eyes. Feh, no one else would really get his philosophies. They were aided by ale, but they existed nonetheless. He was still experimenting to see if all of this was true, in any case, but so far it was turning out to be. In his house, at least. The house of Kil'rahel would soon fall because of him, he hoped. It would be fun to watch, too.

The Drow rested his arms on the bar, lying his head down momentarily in them to stare around. "..Okay." He mumbled in agreement, nodding absently as he stared curiously at all of the other Drow, so wrapped up in themselves. Everything was all so intriguing when you actually chose to look, though Triel'aun didn't know if the alcohol now warming him had anything to do with this new interest. Caution deserved to be thrown to the wind, really.

"A lie?" Micarreth could not help but sound a little surprised and amused. This other drow was....damaged. He had to be mentally unstable to believe that. Or else he was talking about something deep and philosopical. Micarreth wrinkled his nose lightly. He didn't care much for anything that complex. He really was more of a cut and dry sort of male.

Still, the other drow accepted his offer of a drink, and he gestured to get the bartenders attention. What should he get him? A variety of choices flickered through his mind, before he settled for a favorite of his. "A glass of Azure Wine." Micarreth knew the glowing blue drink had quite a strong kick to it, but it was also a favorite of most drow that could afford it. Of course, it's highly addictive nature drained many pockets. Micarreth was rather interested to see if this other drow was familar with the drink or not.

Triel'aun nodded, finally deciding to sit up correctly as he assessed Micarreth boredly. "But then it all depends on your definition of power." He added, finishing his ale. One often had much time to think when one's mother was concentrated on locking him up. His beliefs were true from his standpoint, though when sober he could see how someone else might not understand at all. It was typical; other Drow often didn't think much at all. They just obeyed the rules of society like puppets. Triel'aun merely wanted to be the puppeteer.

The young Necromancer blinked as the Drow next to him ordered something, not quite sure what it was. He let out a dark huff of a sigh as he eyed the door to the bar, finally giving up completely on hoping that someone would come tonight; he had been hoping there would be an assassin, ready to kill the matron of his house, too. His eyes finally found his new drinking companion again. "Who are you?" He questioned pensively, out of only minor curiosity.

Micarreth choose not to disagree with the other drow. He seemed to be slowly leaking out his opinion without much prodding. Well...perhaps a bit more lubing of the lips would be useful, in the form of the glowing blue wine that was brought and set upon the bartop. Micarreth glanced over the glass before gently pushing it before the other drow.

Definition of power. Micarreth had many different definitions, all of them fondly accompanied by images of him twitching little strings here and there while lazing back amid a pile of wealth and pretty slave girls. Well... he'd have to abandon the slave girls once Burryna declared him her male. But...nothing wrong with scantily clad serving girls that had to obay his every command right? Some nice girl with girl entertainment should be acceptable for the Patron of the second house eh?

The question as to whoom he was brought a slight smile to micarreths lips. he wasn't well known enough yet to expect others to know him. This worked well for now. Once he was known he was certain he'd not be able t have fun like this anymore... "My name is Micarreth. And what would yours be?"
PostPosted: Wed Oct 08, 2008 3:04 am

The crimson eyes assessed the glowing beverage pushed before him, and he allowed a small shrug to roll over his shoulders before bringing the wine to his lips and drinking, gasping softly as the wine burnt a trail down his non-alcoholic throat. He looked to the Drow he was speaking to now as he introduced himself, taking in the unfamiliar name with a curt little nod.

"Triel'aun." Came his calm response as he brushed a hand through his shock of white hair. It would be ill indeed if this stranger recognized him, though he doubted it. All he was to anyone was the suspected traitor of the Kil'rahels. He smirked absentmindedly and sipped the potent wine again, feeling it loosen his joints and relax him. It was much too comfortable and much too dangerous, but he felt the need to ignore this. He'd either die or he wouldn't; either way. The careless thought made the necromancer's lips twitch up in amusement as he observed the still-stranger beside him yet again, deciding he honestly couldn't place the other male.

Their conversation may not have seemed like much, but from a drows standpoint it seemed pretty normal to Micarreth. This wasn't some surface tavern where you could walk in and find a best friend within five minutes. Or someone who shared the same woes as you and would understand your terrible pain. or something like that.

Here the conversations were always simple and guarded. You were careful what you said to another, because odds were they knew someone who wanted to track you. or worse yet, you were careful what you overheard, because the person sitting next to you could have some information or knowledge that would get you killed later for the sake of secrecy...or they were a heretic looking for converts. Just once Micarreth wanted to meet one of those drow. He'd elecit such delight in proving just how much a son of the Spider Queen he really was! After all, who better to prove that males could be just as useful as females to the great Goddess then someone like him?

icarreth watched as the other drow tasted the drink he had ordered. The surprise was a pleasent response. Micarreth did nothing to hide his smile in response before taking a drink of his own mug. He did not recognize the name given to him by the other drow, which was good. So long as he wasn't from one of the ruleing houses then Mica felt it was completely within reason for him to have what fun he wished with the other. "Do you come here much Triel'uan? The way you keep looking about I'd think you were waiting for someone."
