Within the shade of a large tree Derby, a black and white english bull terrier, was sleeping the afternoon away. Being a bit of an older dog, Derby really didn't have the energy anymore to keep up with his once wandering ways. He yawned, slowly opening his blue eyes to the blurry world, but then closing them again. The old dog just didn't feel like getting up as he rolled over on his back, tongue lulling out of his mouth lazily.

(I'll post Dai's cert when I'm not feeling so lazy)
It had been a rough few days. After his run-in with the bear and mad scramble down the rock edge of a waterfall his torn ligament in his left hind leg was really starting to hurt. That night after he had slept he felt so stiff he thought he may never walk again.
He had gone fishing earlier today and managed to catch two size-able fish. He limped through the countryside, fish in his mouth. He was out looking for more dogs to be in his pack of two. The extra fish would be for anyone he happened to meet along the way.

Being in a half asleep state, Derby was still able to keep decent track of what was going on around him. For being a wild dog, one can never let themselves become truly vulnerable, for at any moment another dog or even a bear can show up at any warning.
But what filled his nostrils was the smell of wet dog and fish, which roused him from his slumber. Getting on his feet the ol Derby gave a stretch and a yawn he consented himself to go have a look on where the scent was coming from. So he limped off into the brush.

Daisuke paused, ears perking as he heard the sound of an irregular gate, far more sturdy sounding than his own. He listened intently trying to pinpoint the direction the sound was coming from. He drew himself up to his full height.
"Konban-wa."
He said to seemingly open air. Whomever it was would present his or herself if they so desired, and if not, and they attacked, why he was ready as ever for a scuffle.

Derby's ears perked when he heard a voice coming off to his left, a very familiar voice. He could swear he had heard it before, but he couldn't put his paw on it. It could be that he wasn't yet fully awake and was just having an ol brain fart.
So peaking his head through a bush, Derby found himself looking up at a dark colored retriever. "Ahhh, so it was you boy that I smelled."
He remembered the retriever as Daisuke. He had meet him on two other occasions, but they had never really had to much conversation with each other.
"What brings you to these parts?"

Daisuke set the fish down so he could speak properly. He bowed his head. "Derby-san." He said quickly in greeting. "I'm looking for a group of dogs to join me on a little...quest of sorts." He paused in thought. "My sensei, Kirby-sama, had gone off to find his father and bring him down. His dream was to have a group of dogs under him who would fight along side the Soliders of Ohu and uphold their ideals." He explained. "Survival of all through cooperation...instead of survival of the fittest and such." He elaborated.
He nudged a fish closer to the terrier. "Would you care for a fish?" He asked.
