Spreading out over the horizon there stretched a long never ending strip of grass or meadow if you will. The sky was an ending September variety whispering wintry wings from the East. Seemed they were making their way downward once again signaling the white blanketed canvas that would soon envelope the land.
Flying high in that cool crisp air there soared a rather large bird with fiery plumage and keen eyes. He flapped his wings dipping downward now and then before flying past the stallion that was his companion.
"Interesting day Suzaku? Think there will be snow coming by the looks of those clouds?" he hinted to the hawk that now held himself in place.
"Eh? beats me really Sou... I'm not looking forward to freezing my tail feathers off. Weren't you looking for something to do? I don't really feel like freezing if there is snow coming."
"Heh well if there is you'll have to deal with it." he answered with a toss of his head, "Why do you have to be such an uppity bird anyway?"
"Uppity? excuse me Mr. I need to find something more then here type of male... eh don't piss me off this early in the day. I'm going looking for mice so don't stray far."
"Whatever make sure the mice don't call you fire-chicken. I know how you love that name and all.." the stallion laughed then tossed his head running in the opposite direction before he could be dive bombed for such a comment.

Galloping full throttle through the meadow Bai was in high spirits, her mother was well on the way to recovery. She could enjoy a day on her own, away from her brother, every day she was thankful she took after her mother, everyday was a great blessing. But now she would have to be careful, Cynder might set her gaze on her now, but Cynder was in as bad of shape as her mother was. Sliding to a stop the young mare narrowed her eyes, who was this male, she was wary about trusting him.
"Who is he?"

The great flame hawk soared in agitation over the mare's head, but not near enough to harm her. The bird looked downward noting the female but kept on flying as he grumbled, "You had to go there Sou... Damn you for that name I can't stand with a passion. Do I look like a chicken? Fire yes... but a chicken?!" Breathing deeply he spotted a mouse then dived in the higher grass as his tail feathers trailed behind him.
Tamahome smirked with a laugh as he slowed to a halt noticing he had company. He couldn't see her clearly but he knew it was a mare. She wasn't too small and then she wasn't too large either. Focusing more he noted her little hat and a satin yellow sash. Oh course he couldn't see her eyes but he knew she was observing him.
Trotting over a bit not intervening with her he waited to see if she'd get his attention. He was feeling a bit on the silly side with a hint of mischievous demeanor today. Prancing past her he noted the stream in the distance and wondered if she'd follow him. Sou noted she was built with royal blood- most likely she was.

Lowering her head the mare raised her hoof being wary of the male, she didn't trust him yet.
"Stop right there!"
She raised her head stepping back, she didn't want to be caught off guard, and she was going to make sure he knew to mind himself or she would turn around and kick him.

Tamahome skidded to a halt hearing such a demanding tone in that little female's voice. Oh so she was one of those types he pondered. Fine he'd just have to get her name and number before he left. That thought was seriously amusing. Tossing his head he turned to face her noting the (fu) hanging from the hat. A warrior huh?
"Yes Princess?" he asked in a semi-sarcastic tone since she happened to sound as if he should drop to his knees and beg her forgiveness. No he wasn't about to do that.
Walking now toward her his eyes finally laid upon hers. An interesting pink color as his own shimmered with amethyst hues.
"You asked me to stop so sudden I wasn't sure what you wanted. So tell me so I can be on my way then." he mused with a chuckle. Most likely she'd scold him for being so forward and then maybe she wouldn't. Honestly he was checking her temperament and attitude towards him.
Even so he desired a drink right now which he was heading toward before.

"Look here. I am not so quick to trust. So state your name..."
She slowly trotted around the male, sizing him up, her mother was a fierce warrior, and as such she was too. She was going to make sure she knew this male before she trusted him, if he so much as twinged in an unfriendly manner, she would turn and kick him with both hooves.
"Me and my family have been attacked by a disgusting Kalona named Cynder so I am a bit on edge. So do forgive me if I am cautious."

Tamahome looked at her with a smirk then stood rather tall. She seemed edgy that was for sure as she was hostile and demanding. But really if she had been in that situation she had a right to be edgy. Not that Tamahome knew any kalonas or skinwalkers personally of course.
"I suppose since your so persistent..." he sighed with a shake of his head, "My name is Sou Kishuku but you can just call me Tamahome or Tama, whichever you prefer using. Tamahome is the one most know me by." He stood there waiting for her reaction wondering just what sort of hell this kalona had caused. True this girl looked to be a fighter but she also seemed distracted if she had to intercept something clear out of the blue.
"Now Princess if that is what you are, will you allow me to hear your name so I may address you properly? he requested bowing his head to her, "I'm not going to press the subject but I would at least like to know who I'm conversing with. Fair enough?" he watched her closely right now for temperamental females were like rattlesnakes. They always gave a warning before they struck their target. He had to give her one thing so far, she wasn't careless when dealing with strangers. She had the makings of a true warrior in her bloodline.

"Gong Zhu Bai. Daughter of Hisen-ko and Qin Wang."
The machurian clad female lowered her guard finally, this male didn't seem so dangerous. A bit sarcastic, but at least he wasn't an utter moron like her brother. She would trust him for the time being unless he got fresh with her, men were always after one thing or so she had heard.

Daughter of Hsien-ko and Qin-Wang, she had said so proudly in her name. And what a lovely name too seeing that she was named Princess in a sense with a snow white coat. In his mind it was very fitting for a lady of her stature.
"Well Princess you seem decent so if you don't mind I think I'll head for a drink as I was intending to do so before you stopped me. Feel free to follow if you wish." he motioned to the stream over the taller hill. By now he began to get really thirsty so that was becoming his first real priority other then talking with Bai.
Taking his lead he began his decent to the stream wondering if she'd follow soon after.

Bai turned and followed the male, she didn't quite get him, she got the impression that he was coming right at her. But it was just for water, she would keep her eye on him, hoping to gain an idea of how he ticked. She would figure out what the deal with this warrior was, she slowly walked to the stream and lowered her head to take a drink, instinctively pushing her muzzle against the water first.

The water was a welcome gesture as he plunged his muzzle deeply in the coolness letting it savor and satisfy him fully. The icy bite in the wetness was perfect and quite refreshing to a stallion whom always preferred dealing with things head on. He was tactical at times and tried thinking thoroughly whenever there was confusion or a situation needing much delicate response.
When finished he raised his head back up as the water droplets dripped from his muzzle. Looking at Bai he pondered a few things then spoke, "So Princess..." he addressed her similar to her name and yet in a whole different origin, "Tell me about this "Cynder" that attacked your family. I know nothing about Kalona or dragons, but I have heard tales about them since coming to this land." he nodded starting a somewhat intelligent conversation with her. In truth Sou was highly shy but talking wasn't a big deal unless things went out of hand making him place that guard up. He was merely curious as to how a creature could do so much damage when really they were the same species as himself, right?
The fiery hawk had caught many mice as he curved his flight back to where he left his companion. But to Suzaku's surprise the stallion was missing.
"Damnit I thought I told you not to stray from here... fire-chicken indeed." he cursed soaring higher in the air searching for the grounded male. Why Suzaku put up with the stallion's quirks was beyond him, but they did make for good companions past everything.
Finally he spotted Sou and the mare he passed. Pulling his wings out more he floated to a nearby tree where the two conversed and preened his feathers acting like he wasn't paying attention. When in truth he was curious to what Sou was actually talking about.

Raising her head up delicately, letting droplets of water roll off her muzzle, she was amazed that this Tamahome never saw a Kalona. She simply blinked at this, since Kalona were such demonic creature everyone heard of them.
"She is simply put a horrible creature with sulfur for breath, capable of spewing flames from her maw. She is an old nemesis of my mother, she nearly killed my mother, if it wasn't for Uchiha Sasuke helping she would have been."
She swung her head to the side and stared at the hawk that was nearby, now that wasn't something she saw everyday, a bird made of flames. It was interesting.

"Kalona aye? Yeah those are the ruthless types. They're more hot headed then I am most days. I can see your worry there Miss. Nice choice in a companion there Sou " the hawk responded still preening his feathers.
Tamahome looked up unamused for a moment before returning his attention to the mare. This creature sounded rather vile and the fact she attacked twice proved she was nothing to mess around with. Killing was a harsh word in any case which he detested more then anything. It wasn't known who or what killed his family, but he'd forever hunt them down till his dying days if he knew. Perhaps Kalona did it or worse skinwalkers, whatever it was they angered him.
"Uchiha Sasuke?" he paused with an interested brow raise, "Who is that?" She certainly was knowledgeable with names at least. Just hearing another's name in that format perked his attention. Like Sou this Sasuke was a foreigner to this land for most only carried one name rather then two.
"Excuse me for butting in again but this Sasuke sounds powerful. Our Sou here he's a kickass fighter when he wants to be. That's no lie either. "Little orgre" can sprawl with the best of them." He flared his wings showing off and made a typical hawk noise.
"Oh yes Princess this is Suzaku. Suzaku meet Gong zu Bai." he said still trying to ignore the hawk's comments while introducing his annoying familiar.
The hawk yawned then looked at the little mare nodding his head, "Pleasure. Now if I may be so bold you two companions now or something? I am Sou's companion of course but if you Miss Bai are joining us I won't mind. I want to hear more of the flame thrower kalona."

"Uchiha Sasuke is this, arrogant Angeni who aided us when we needed it. Well you would have to ask my mother more about Cynder. And I do not know about joining you just yet. What kind of mare do you think I am?"
She also wasn't sure about moving away from her mother just yet, and also she would rather learn more about these two before she made such a bold decision. She wanted to make sure she knew more before she made a bold leap it wasn't how she was.
