I made that thread about genre's specific vocal styles and now how about a different approach?? An entires vocal style versus another.
Which style do we like the most and which do we hate?

Good one.
I love melodic vocals, especially those involved in folk metal, but I also love gruff vocals and screaming.
The only vocals I can think of that I hate are some power metal vocals. Some of them can be pretty annoying, but then again I love some power metal

Yeah it's pretty DARN hard to find power metal vocals that are standable.
Well I enjoy gruff singing and death grunts- the ubar deep ones the most.
Yggdrasil, Evuleitie, Cemetary(Evil Shade of Grey), Goat The Head.... all ahve excellent vocals.

I generally prefer clean singing, but I do enjoy plenty of bands that have harsh vocals.

about 96% of the time I prefer harsh.

In etal I generally prefer death vox.
I actually like power metal vocals, but usually I listen to metal for the extreme heaviness, and that makes me lean toward Cannibal Corpse or (heavy style) Opeth vocals.

Gravechylde I generally prefer clean singing, but I do enjoy plenty of bands that have harsh vocals. this. I'd just add the 'high pitched' before the 'clean singing' Grave said.

Okay, looks like I failed to make the point clear yet again. Genre vocal styles.
Example: I like Death metal grunts and Folk whatever vocals better than anything else.
Not clean or harsh in and of itself. We already had a thread for that.

Uhh, I suppose Death Metal vocals would be my favorite. I think Thrash would be my least favorite.

I gotta say, Power Metal is my favorite because I respect a great vocalist with some secular talent. Also, I gotta love thrash, particularly crossover or heavier thrash, because I can actually do them! Along with Death and Black, but most anyone can do those with some practice.
