The chalkboard read 'levitation', 'highly magical', and 'prefer to outsmart opponent'. Peri stood in the classroom, waiting for his student to show up.

It had taken a while, but Liang had finally found a name for her dragon. It had been a dilemma, and she then took to calling him simply by 'Dragon'. She wanted something fitting, something that would suit him and her tastes. Maybe she was being picky, but a name was for life. You couldn't change it.
And finally, with the help of her new family, she settled on Huang Di, the emperor.
After all, coming to a dragon informational class and calling him Dragon would be terribly inappropriate.
She was dropped off by Yourie who said she would be back after, and whisked off. Her new mothe...guardian seemed sulky these days, though she did manage a smile when she was around. She and her younger sister had taken to discussing how she was blackmailed; Yourie refused to tell.
She stood outside the door with her dragon and shook away the thoughts. Now was not the time to be thinking of these. "Ready, Huang?" She asked him with a smile, and was replied with a curious stare. Giggling slightly, she patted his head and opened the door, walking into the classroom.
"Hello." She greeted the teacher. It was the same one who had taken her and Tea on the egg tour, when she had it firmly in her mind that the spots on Huang's egg were rubies even when told it was not. And well, she had been proven wrong; at this, she chanced a glance at the spots on her dragon. Maybe they would become rubies after all! You'd never know.

Peri smiled at child and dragon as they entered. "Hello. So, to start off our class, do you have any questions?" He gestured for them both to sit. "I find its often easier to get questions out of the way right off instead of making you wait until the end."

Liang seated and motioned for the dragon to do so as well. Huang Di rested his head on her lap, looking up at her curiously before his eyes darted to stare at the teacher. "Well, I've noticed he takes a great interest in reading. Does this mean he can read different languages as well? Or even talk in them?" It was something she had wondered every time she watched him float about in the library, peering with great interest at the rows of books.

Peri thought for a moment. "Well, the Asian Lung has been said to have taught humans how to write. Right now, he probably can't read much in different languages, but will probably be able to as he gets older. Or I would guess so. As for speaking them, I'm not sure. He'll learn English from you and others around him, but as for languages he doesn't actually hear, I don't know. It may just be that he could read them only." The man gave a bit of a shrug. Some of the things asked, he could only guess at from what he knew. Most books were just on general aspects and didn't go into much detail.

It was strange, Liang thought, that he could somehow learn how to read. Perhaps it was just some sort of inner instinct. "I see." She nodded. The books she read weren't as specific either.
The feng huang glanced at the board again thoughtfully. Yes, she knew about the levitation thing, but it was because she was curious that he could fly without wings, something her new brother had also asked. "So, can he use just magic in his specific element or magic in general?" Huang Di's element was air, she knew, and rather easy to guess, really.

"Just his element. But he'll get very good at air spells." Peri grinned and glanced at the board. "Asian lungs prefer to use spells in combat than actual melee fighting. Though they'd rather not fight to begin with, but sometimes a fight just cannot be avoided."

Liang nodded to this again. It was no wonder that Huang Di easily got on well with her new sister; the two disliking fights and all.
"Is there anything else I should know?" She asked, quirking an eyebrow.

"Like all Asian lungs, he can levitate. Since they have no wings, they don't actually fly, but instead hover in the air and such. I'm sure you've probably seen that." He glanced back at the board and then shrugged. "That's pretty much it, unless you have any more questions."

Yes, she had. Mereneth had seemed to be terribly disappointed with that; asking her why her dragon didn't have wings yet could fly. She had a suspicion that it was some kind of air magic spell, and this was confirmed.
"Nope." She shook her head, then got up, Huang Di circling around her lazily. "Thank you."
