Outside seemed to be a good day. And when it seemed good outside, that meant one should do something good or fun, whichever usually was more important. To Rhapsody, fun usually outweighed doing something good, but she had a kind heart. So when Lasuk mentioned he wasn't feeling well that morning, Rhapsody had to help him out somehow! Never mind the fact that it was due to the Kyuria staying out late with Sylvera and their two rocks. All he needed was sleep, but Rhapsody was too silly to notice such.
Trotting along the large field close to the Incense shop, the lacewing began to think. What could she find for Lasuk that would make him feel better?
And then her blue eyes spotted them. A bush with beautiful red berries on it. Berries were tasty, and they definitely had to make Lasuk feel better. Feeling very good now, she pranced over to the bush to investigate further.

Outside was all he knew, all he really needed, all he could want in a home. A humble life was a good one, a full one, and a rich one. Or so the Kyunru had convinced himself. A life of solitary rambling was something he treasured nearly as much as his devotion to his faith and song.
Herbs, roots, berries- whatever he could find he took as his daily bread. That morning it just happened to be a certain bush of berries. Ripe, most of them anyway, and plump enough to make a decent meal.
The dusty-pelted kyunru stepped lightly towards the bush, hesitating only when a flicker of blue stirred the green shrub ahead of him.
"Oh...?", He slowly tipped his head a bit, leaning to one side to catch a better look at who- or what- stood on the other side of the bush.

Only once she was immediately in front of a bush that had many red orbs adorned within its leaves did Rhapsody stop. She lowered her head and lifted a paw. In a childish fashion, she counted them out loud and seemed to make a sort of song out of the numbers.
"One bewwy, two bewwy, thwee bewwy, foh bewwy!" She kept on going in this fashion until she got all the way up to thirty two, before realizing that yes, there were plenty of berries here. Her thin wings twittered lightly in glee and her tail wagged in an almost canine fashion. And for the first time did she notice something on the other side of the bush. It was a pale dust color, whatever it was.
Not being even remotely shy, the lacewing called out in a cheerful voice "Hewwo thehw!"

A child? Silence blinked and slowly inspected the winged Kyunru before him. Truth be told...he'd never encountered one of his own kind. He shifted his gaze slightly to his own back. Was he supposed to have wings? Perhaps, perhaps not. He tipped his head back to the female.
...Where were his manners?
"Oh...hello." He offered a short dip of his head, "I'm sorry was...I intruding?"

Despite the childish manner of speaking and her general attitude towards things, the pale blue kyunru definitely did not seem much like a child physically anymore. She seemed to be grinning ear to ear and didn't mind the short inspection she received.
When asked if he was intruding, Rhapsody exclaimed "Oh no! Of couwse not! Aw you heew foh some bewwies too?" Her eyes went back to the bush, then to this new horned kyunru. She had been around a while, so horns and a lack of wings weren't anything new.
Lifting up a paw and attempting to point it at herself, she gave a small introduction: "My name is Wapsody, and this..." she attempted to maneuver her paw towards the butterfly pendant on her necklace: "...is my fwend. Fwend hasn't told me fwend's name yet!" That silly necklace of hers had an awful tendency to wake up when new kyunrus were around, so she figured it would be better to get the introductions out of the way.

Silence fought hard to keep a pleasant smile adorned on his face rather than a look of dismay and confusion. Not a child...she was far too large to be a child. Or...was he small? He didn't think so, he'd grown considerably. Then again, there was nothing to compare his own growth spurt to.
Wapsody? He opened his mouth to repeat it but thought better of it and snapped his jaw shut. She spoke like a child...perhaps she couldn't pronounce things as well as most...or maybe -that- was normal too?
Flustered, he sighed. Well- easy part first. "My name is Silence." He said simply, "Silence Shepherd formally I suppose... it's good to meet you-" He hesitated. "...Rhapsody?" Was that right? Please let her be that name...how embarrassing it would be if he'd gotten it wrong already.

Tilting her head, she couldn't help but wonder if that really was a name or not? Silence was that thing that Lasuk always asked for when she was having fun.
"Siwence...?" she repeated. In her head, she decided that the word "Silence" worked better as a name than "Quiet," she returned the sentiment of "It is nice to meet you!" And that was that! She didn't even dwindle on the mention of her name, seeing as he pronounced it correctly from what she could hear.
Turning back to the bush, she explained what she was doing: "I am gathehwing bewwies foh Lasuk. He's not feewing wehw today!" With that out of the way, she then leaned in and plucked a berry off the bush, holding it as carefully as she could with her teeth. She smiled carefully, then looked for a place to set the single berry down.

Silence nodded slowly, fully aware of the oddity of his name. She hadn't commented on it though- to which he was grateful. He didn't look forward to having to explain why he'd been given such a name.
"Gathering?" He stepped around the bush, which allowed for a closer inspection of his fellow Kyunru. It was still bizzare... something he was sure in time he'd get over.
But gathering? He glanced between the bush and the berry in the female's mouth. She hadn't thought this one out, had she? He cleared his throat against a comment to that regard- she didn't seem the type to take criticism well. "Perhaps...we should find something to hold them in. I don't imagine your...friend-" He assumed she was gathering for a friend anyway, "Won't want to eat berries you carry in your cheeks. Heh...."
A joke... and a weak one. He'd have to work on that.

Though she had a kind heart, none could accuse the lacewing of being the smartest of her kind. In fact, she was quite naive still. She looked down to the ground, blinked her eyes, and seemed to think about what he had said.
Rhapsody could carry all the berries back, but then she remembered that berries were small and she couldn't carry but one at a time this way. She closed her mouth, not even remembering the berry between her teeth until it had smooshed, leaving berry juice flavor in her mouth.
Glancing to what she considered her new friend, she asked "What should I use to gathew the bewwies then?" Any input seemed appreciated, or at least that was what her large bright blue eyes were saying.

 The poor girl...
He cleared his throat to mask a small burst of what might have been laughter had he forgotten his manners. Obviously the problem of getting berries back hadn't crossed her mind till just then- and now she was down one. Not that it was a horrible loss- the boughs were sagging from the weight of the ripened fruits.
But how to carry them all?
"Good question..." He answered, both to himself and her. The horned kyunru tipped his head one way then another, glancing about for something- anything -that might announce itself to his attention.
After perhaps five minutes, something caught his eye. A bird's nest! Long abandoned by the looks of it. It was late in the year, the fledgelings would have long left the nest by then, the parents with them.
"Well...", he glanced back to the female and nodded up to the branch where the small nest sat. "How about that? Can you fly?" One would assume so. It didn't hurt to ask though.

Finding she had a rather sweet flavor in her mouth now, the pastel blue Kyunru licked her maw a bit, as if she was searching for more of that flavor. It was a good enough distraction for her as Silence located a key piece to solving the puzzle. When her attention was requested, Rhapsody looked up and at the object. It looked like a messy basket made of sticks. And baskets were made to hold things.
Enthusiastically, she nodded her head and twittered her wings proudly. "Yes! My fwend taught me when I was wittew!"Upon the mention of its accomplishments, the butterfly pendant that hung from the lacewing's neck so lifelessly suddenly moved. In fact, its wings started to flutter, and it lifted up into the air, hoovering near Rhapsody's nose.

At first, he'd fully expected that her 'friend' had been a simple trinket. Idle...pretty but idle. When it came to life, he sprang back to his hind legs. "GEUH!"
Eyes wide, he watched the now obviously harmless butterfly drift up around the female's face. Though still panting, he slowly lowered his front paws back to the ground. Eying the butterfly suspiciously he took a few steps back.
"W...well that's...that's nice!" He took a deep breath. Only a butterfly... only a butterfly. "Can...well if you can get it down..." He tore his attention away, perhaps for the best, and nodded back up to the nest, "You can ...use it to carry more...back to your...friend?"

The pendant did not seem like it wanted to go back to sleep so soon, so it lingered there, like a silent observer.Once more, her eyes followed along back to the nest. "Ok!" she chirped before backing up a bit. Not exactly gifted with the sturdiest of all wing types, she had to get a running start usually. Once she was about 5 feet further back (which was a lot to her), she trotted and began to flap her wings as quickly as they'd allow. Slowly, with all that effort being put into it, the lacewing's body lifted up into the air. Once there, she seemed to move along much better than before, seeming to swim through the air as if she had been doing it all her life.
For a while, she just giggled and flew this way and that, seeming to forget the whole reason she was in the air to begin with. However, she soon enough made her way to the tree and hoovered around the twig-basket. Not exactly thinking it through, she prodded at the nest with her right forepaw. It moved a bit, but didn't get out of the tree.
She tried once more, which caused the nest to fall out of the tree and land rather softly on the ground next to the tree. Proudly, she added a simple "Thehw!"

Silence stepped back to give the little female all the room she needed to launch herself into flight. An amused smile slowly worked its way onto his otherwise distant face. He absently found himself wondering what it must be like to fly. It looked so easy, so effortless, so...free.
His quiet musings were slowly disrupted once more by confusion. Had she forgotten about the nest entirely? Silence found his mouth falling open with the occasional, "Ah-", "Oh uh-", "Ack!" Always stopping himself from the potentially rude reminder of just why she was flying around in the first place. Swallowing up what might have eventually brewed into frustration, Silence chuckled softly.
Let her have her fun.
Eventually, she found her way to the nest, and after a few moments it fell to the ground with a soft, 'plumpf'.
"Careful!" He moved over to the nest and rolled it right way up with a gentle prod. It wasn't too badly damaged. Just a little flattened on one side. Not bad... "They're delicate... easy to break."
