Yes.
All of us Eragon fans have been waiting on it for ages, on the edge of our chairs just waiting for the announcement on Alagaesia saying that the third book was out. Or maybe you were waiting in your living room, or right at the door, eager to see that postman coming with a package labeled 'Amazon'. Either way, we were all waiting for the same thing;
Brisingr.
Personally, I just got it today, this afternoon, after two days of being sick to my stomach(quite literally), so it was a huge surprise and a very uplifting one. I'm not quite deep into it yet because I was forced into bed by my mother, but I already know that this is going to be exellent. I immediately noticed how Paolini's writing has evolved; I've got a feeling this book is going to be finished in a day or two.
I don't know if anyone else has gotten it yet. If not, I hope you get it soon. Especially if you're waiting on a translated version.
Also, black cover = originality? Eragon's cover was blue to match Saphira, Eldest's was red for Thorn, but what about THIS one? Shouldn't it be yellow/gold to match who I suppose it Glaedr?
Oh well.
Have fun!

Personally, I think that was to go against what everyone was speculating about. Breaking the convention, in a way. Because everyone had it pinned down to a green cover, the title being a six letter long word beginning with E. Then again, that was when it was a trilogy.. But you know what I find ironic/funny? My cover is actually purple. From the difference in printing, it's not full black. Just a dark purple. And it looks quite nice.. If the cover was yellow/gold, they'd end up losing a bit of freedom with it. Twice can be coincidence, three can't.
Moving on...I suppose there are people that need to be congratulated for correct theories. I liked the little twist with the weapon under the Menoa tree. And the heart of hearts, although there are people who weren't far off when they thought Galbatorix's power came from souls (and if nobody else here thought that then it must have been me and someone else...) King Orik I knew would happen (considering I dreamed it sometime between readin Eragon and Eldest and then waking to think 'hold on, but it's Hrothgar, not Orik'.
But by far the most interesting thing for me was a little reference... 'Adrift upon the sea of time, the lonely god wanders from shore to distant share, upholding the laws of the stars above.' He's a Doctor Who fan! There were other references along the way - intentional or otherwise - but that was the one that made me smile the most. And his admitting to it in the acknowledgements.
Hmm..I fail to mention things..such as, I got mine yesterday..for about half price actually. Wow. That's weird. And I actually quite enjoyed it, once I got into the EPIC rhythm of things. I wonder if other people will know what I mean? The way it's written just screams 'Epic'. And elaborate. Or flamboyant. But mainly epic. I'm grateful that taking Literature has enabled me to identify certain things..and then look past them. I'm not that sure if I would have enjoyed Brisingr as much last year, when Literature was more analysis than appreciating art.
And here I am rambling again. I am SURE that is Alianae's influence. Ooh...I loved the interweaving interest in fate too. To risk sounding insane...we both did.

Sorry for disappearing for a length of time again. That being said, I got the book on Saturday, the day it came out, only an hour after Borders opened. I finished it on Monday night, mainly because my parents kept giving me work to do mad . Anyway, I digress...
The book was phenominal. I waited for about three years for it to come out, and now I know that it was well worth the wait. Risking sounding like a dork, I went into hysterics when I found out I was right about Brom being Eragon's dad. I started the theory after reading "Eragon" the first time, and built up facts as I re-read it, and "Eldest" as well. Like some of you, my one regret is that I finished the book. Also, I don't know about the rest of you, but the end really pulled on my heart-strings, which is pretty difficult to do.
And, if any of you would be interested, I just this morning finished updating my guide to the Ancient Language with the words from this book. I don't have a chance to get on all that often thanks to my father, but I will log in when I can, so just contact me, and I'll get back A.S.A.P.
Du vindr mehd ono waise.

Wow. I can't believe I fininshed it...I've been counting down since day 144. When's the next one coming out?! Anyway, even though I loved the book, I didn't think the end had a big enough climax; it was really sad and everything but...still, it's easily recognizable that the original was split into two books. I also thought the book was mostly predictable (except for Eldunaris and the weapon under the Menoa Tree) but that just means the next book will be full of really good material (I hope).

I loved this book, and I was so pround with myself for guessing Brom was his dad without anyone telling me. After book two, I absolutly refused to believe Morzan was his dad because it seemed way too cliche and star-wars-y. Plus, I just didn't like it. XD So i decide Brom WAS his dad and always would be, even if he really wasn't. Then I wrote a four page rant about how it couldn't be morzan and every inkling of evidence i could find that would back up my brom theory. I even guessed that Saphira had known! I NEVER guess these things right! So proud... 4laugh
Anyway, I also loved the reason for Galbatorix's power. THAT, i never saw comming. It was a very cool way to do it and I am greatly anticipating the next book.
I also loved Eragon's sword, and its special ability. Though i must admit that would scare the crap out of me every time it happened. XD
And finally, I was so sad when Oromis died crying but at least we still have Glaedr...sort of.

I loved this one. I had taken a guess about Eragon's lineage, and I was RIGHT! Once I read Glaedr's sentance where he spoke the truth, I nearly danced all around my english class!
The sword was nifty, but it was a bit cliche. I mean, of course he would have named it Brisingr. It makes me wonder what the other swords (Brom's, the green one in Ellesmera who's name I don't recall) names mean in the acient language.
Oromis and Glaedr--I half-expected this. As soon as Oromis declared that he was going into battle, I knew Paolini was going to kill him off.
The heart of hearts thing...kind of confusing, but I think I'll get the hang of it after awhile.

My reaction after reading th last chapter: NUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU times, maybe 12.
I was really happy that Brom was Eragon's father, but then KA-BOOM! There goes Paolini killing off the Mourning Sage. AND Glaedr.
ARGH!
The Eldunari thing was extremely awesome. Along with the sword/torch. I wish that Orik would of overcome his fear of flying and became the next Rider. I thought he was gonna kill off Roran with that last battle with Yarbog.

I couldn't believe Brom was actually Eragon's father. In the first two books, I actually thought Morzan was his father.

I was quite happy with Brisingr, especially since it featured some of the best moments to date with Angela. I loled pretty much every time she said something, especially since her reaction to Eragon's sword was similar to mine. Well, except I conceded coolness once it started whoomphing itself on fire. And now I want to know about those two women, the older and younger. I suppose they figure prominently in the last book? Either that or I've just been totally sold on a whole new series.
I noticed with pleasure the evolution of Paolini's writing style. I truly consider him one of the foremost fantasy writers of this generation, which is quite a comfort as my old favorites (Pratchett and Jordan) keep falling ill and/or dying. Okay, truth, Neil Gaiman's still just fine, but still. If I had to resign myself to reading squelchy vampire romance novels I think I'd develop a nervous tic. No, I didn't say I *hate* them. I haven't even read most of them. The whole genre just reminds me forcibly of those goofy "historical" romance novels where the girl always has to choose between someone nice but a bit boring and someone ghastly but with flair. My patience for dithering typically ended about halfway through.
