Traveling by night was never one of his strong suits, but it certainly beat the sweltering heat of the day. The moon made the best comfort to an insomniac nomad as
Uumizi felt tonight. Surely he could not sleep, but this did not stop him from the endless walking it felt like he did out in the open.

It was not common to run into a tree and it had been sometime since he would come across one. Yet, another night would be on him to soon pass. Here in this spot, he took a moment to gaze at the illustrious aura of the celestial object that far away from him.

"A full moon....that could be a good omen or bad..." He said to himself, noticing a tree was close and he could rest under its branches just a moment if that was all he required for his paws.

Jumoke walked along in the dark, letting out a soft hum from her throat. She was in a good mood, as she pretty much always was. Blond fur swayed to and fro and she danced around, her head bobbing to some unknown beat. Perhaps it was the full moon... But tonight she felt even more energetic! She hadn't even paused to sleep yet, or even rest. For some reason she just had to keep going...

The lioness was quickly distracted from her rhythmic walking by a passing moth. She gasped and smiled, quickly moving to chase it. While so distracted, she had no idea where she was going, and no idea who she might run into.

Uumizi stopped in his tracks as he heard the sound of more footsteps. Could he have been followed? That would be extremely careless to him as he already had much to deal with from before. Whatever. If it was something of a threat it could be dealt with under the moon as his only witness.

Whatever it was he would surely surprise it. It had been awhile since he ate, what if it was something he could? That would do too, but his nose could not pick up the scent of anything marked as prey. How strange, whatever it was still was not close enough to be caught.

"Alright...where ever you are, you won't get far!" He shouted and ran away from the tree, following the noise of footsteps until he could hear them louder. He had enough trouble before and was not going to be blind sighted again. Other males could be so troublesome at times for him. His mind swirled with what it could be. His speed picking up, hopes it would be one of them that crossed his path, that would make the day so much better.

That is until the image shook his eyes free to look ahead not that it was a male but as much as it was a....lioness? It was too late for him to stop as the startled expression says it all. He is unable to halt completely on all fours as tries his best not to run into her, not as though he could avoid it.

"Watch out!" Uumizi felt the words slur off his tongue, not like it mattered at this point. He closed his eyes and braced for whatever was coming.

Unfortunately for the both of them, Jumoke was so oblivious that she didn't even think to stop when he called out to her. She heard him of course, but it only excited her more. Her head snapped in his direction, eyed widening... And then BAM.

Ju tumbled on top of the new lion pile, still blinking and smiling innocently. "Oh!" She blinked at him, laying upside down. "Hello!" She chirped happily, ears twitching. "Fancy running into you." She giggled more at her own silly joke, but was soon distracted when the moth flew over head again.

"Ah! Come back!" She flopped onto her side and pushed herself up, jumping up into the air to swat at the fluttering insect.

The lion laid on his stomach as his ears held a ringing sound as he kept his eyes shut, slightly dizzy from the collision. At first he wondered exactly what happened until the sounds went away and then he heard her voice. With his brain rattling, he stumbled to try and get up, soon noticing he had someone on top of him, his tail swishing behind.

Uumizi groaned when he became a launchpad to the other, soon rolling over and opening his eyes to see exactly what it was that laid him out. "Hello?" He asked quite puzzled at the incident. His tension slipped away rapidly as his eyes focused in on the yellow blur that became the image of a lioness and one very playful at that.

"What are you doing?" He tries to comprehend what she was up to, trying to piece together things all at once, finding it only made his head swell and not in a good way.

The lioness was much too busy chasing the fluttering insect to really pay attention to the male behind her. She continued to leap and bat at it, squealing softly with joy. The poor bug seemed to grow a bit smarter, and flew upwards instead of forward. She jumped up and down in place to try to grab at it, but eventually it was just out of her reach.

"Heeey..." She frowned and sat finally, staring up sadly, her ears tilted back. "It left..." It was at that moment that she finally noticed the other lion behind her. She blinked and looked over her shoulder, large brown eyes blinking slowly.

"OH!" She jumped up and rushed over to him, looking over him. "Hello there! Who are you? I'm Jumoke, you can call my Ju if you want, or you don't have to, but either way I don't care! What's your name? I'll call you whatever you like." She rambled on, her voice cheerful and fast.

Uumizi was stunned, speechless as he tried to take in every word she spouted but all he had was a headache now. "What? Ju?" Well I never heard of you, but you can call me Uumizi." He said, that image of the lioness spinned vastly when he tried to focus on her.

There seemed to be three of them now or his eyes were just that bad. "Ugh..." He groans and shakes his head and shuts his eyes tightly. The dark male sighs and tries to open them again, it seemed to work.

"You can call me that if you want to." He winced, she had a powerful leap if she didn't realize it. Not everyday a lioness could take him down like that, but the worst part of it was that this one had no idea she had done it. All she did was ramble on and he wasn't sure to be annoyed or just take in the fact he had company now.

"Oooh, hi!" She continued to beam at him, her tail twitching spasticly behind her. "Uuuuumizi! That's a cool name!"

She was finally quiet, but only for a handful of seconds. Then she was bounding through the air, hopping up and down in circles around him, as if she was pouncing on something. She was really just... moving, her energy flowing out of her. She stopped abruptly and looked to him, eyes wide and excited.

"Do you like to play games? I love games! We could play one, if you like games!"

"I could think of a few games, but there's no sand nearby so we can't play that..." He thought to himself, almost mumbling the words as she bounced around him and a grin plastered on his face from what he was thinking. Gods, he never expected to ever find a lioness that was...like this. Was this one defective?

"I'm glad you like it, Ju was it?" He says, this time it was what he wanted her to hear, brandishing a smile of his teeth politely while she continued to move. It almost looked like she was dancing around him. She must be that carefree for her life and that was something he could never be with his constant moving.

"What type of games do you like to play, Ju? Do you know about hide and seek?"

Jumoke continued to hop around him gleefully again. His game choice seemed to please her. "Hide and seek! I love hide and seek!" She giggled, then stopped again long enough to poke his side with her paw. "You're it! Count to 10 and find me!"

She turned and ran off, though paused to glance over her shoulder at him. "No peeking!" She seemed to trust him after the warning, and continued to run off towards a large bush.

The male continued to brandish his smile for her as Ju went off to hide. Snickering to himself, it was rather easy to brush her off. It was strange. He felt more toward a lioness to want to converse and things always drifted much more serious. It was bizarre that one could be so carefree.

Still, he had to observe this. He was curious at this discovery even with how he was feeling. It was best to play along for now. If he didn't like her, there was always a way to be rid of her after she got what she wanted, it seemed harmless enough.

Uumizi turned around as she was no longer in sight, lowering his upper half of his body, he placed his paws over his face, covering his eyes and began to count.

"1...2...3...4...5...6...7...8...9..." He'd pause, adding a little tension before he was finished. It did feel rather entertaining for him like this, it was fun."Nine and a half....nine and three quarters..."
