"Do not touch anything," Santana said strongly, a little bit of a sigh shifting his shoulders.

They needed food. Usually Santana made a trip once every week or so...but there was an extra mouth to feed now, yes? And he couldn't leave Lit at home, not even with a baby sitter. The boy had proven himself much too sneaky and unreliable. So Santana was forced to bring Lit along. Though the guardian did have a list, which would make things much quicker.

He just had to hope Lit wouldn't start trouble in the hour that Santana planned on them being in the store.


Lit didn't outwardly respond as his guardian spoke to him. Oh sure, he wanted to just run off down Random Isle A, toppling displays and causing general havoc. But the wolf man had proven himself a force to be reckoned with. He refrained from such destructive behavior and just got the small enjoyment out of scowling fear into every little old lady or otherwise spineless wimp who happened to make eye contact with him.

It was the third eye that snapped around first, neutral and inspecting until the other child spoke towards him. Then the bright blue eye narrowed distastefully as his normal eyes drifted to look at the girl. She was older than he was. Lit didn't know if he liked that. But then again, he had control over a full grown woman in their apartment complex...why not an older child?

Santana looked over suddenly, wary of the young girl approaching them. He looked down at Lit, ears laying back sternly against his white white hair as his tail hung low and stiff. A dominant stance...he was trying to tell Lit to behave without actually having to tell him.

Lit could feel the intent stare from his guardian and didn't have to turn around to know what he was being told. His wings shifted uncomfortably as he thought about how to respond to the girl. He couldn't be out right nasty, even though he wanted to.

"Yes," he finally picked the simple answer. It wouldn't give her a lot to go off of...but Lit had to wait until Santana wasn't paying attention to really start in on her.

The boy didn't seem terribly impressed with the girl's display. Honestly, Litural felt a little threatened. Her wings were bigger than his, and two of them appeared to be clawed to a degree. His body posture stiffened as she spread them out, not retreating from her but definitely seeming to lean back a bit. His own wings fluffed in agitation, a uncontrolled response, and started to open up as well. He could be threatening too, he thought. He could make his wings look just as big as hers. Bigger, even...it seemed he had more feathers working for him.

Santana stepped up next to the boy, not touching him but close. His manner seemed friendly towards her, if a little concerned for the boy's attitude.

"Those are some impressive wings you've got there," he said with a smile. "We've never seen anyone with as many wings as Lit, either."

The furry-eared man subtly pressed the side of his leg into Lit as he spoke, making the boy take a step back. It seemed to calm Lit down a bit; his wings lowered, but remained in a puffed state of annoyance. Why did his guardian have to spoil all his fun?

Lit suddenly stopped short. Chasity? He knew that name. That was who they said parts of his DNA were from.

Santana apparently had the same thought. He seemed honestly impressed with the girl's information, glancing down at Lit with an encouraging smile, "Seems she comes from the same Virtue you do, Lit. That's kind of cool, huh? That would make her your half-sister."

Lit had never thought about having siblings before. This warranted further inspection. Not so much threatened now as he was curious, he shifted forward next to his guardian to get a much better look at Allete. He even stepped beyond the wolf man, all three eyes inspecting the girl. And indeed, her feathered wings did appear extremely similar to his own.

Santana held his breath as Lit moved closer, praying that he wouldn't out right attack the girl. When Lit appeared more quizzical than homicidal, he chanced a comment.

"Four wings are special...and if you two are related somewhat, that makes you even more unique."

Lit's third eye saw the hand reach out and the reaction was pretty much instant, before Santana even had the chance to stop either of them. His head whipped around and his fanged teeth clicked together in a crisp snap, not touching her with much more than wisps of his hair that brushed against her wrist as his head had whipped around.

"Lit!" Santana shouted as he watched it happen, suddenly grabbing the boy's shoulder and wrenching him back from the girl, out of reach of claw or fang.

Litural was growling, his wings so low against him they were almost hidden behind his shoulders. It had been a warning - Don't Touch Me. Despite his slight panic about the situation in general, Santana was impressed the boy hadn't just chomped down on her. It was obvious he could have if he'd wanted to; he was starting to show restraint.

"I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" the man apologized quickly, his hand tight on Litural's shoulder as he came back to the moment. He was preparing himself...this could get ugly. "He doesn't like being touched, I'm sorry. Are you okay?"

Why was he apologizing? Because he knew his child's behavior, and he'd made the mistake of letting his guard down.

Litural's growl rose again as the finger was waved across his vision. It was then that Santana pushed the boy back, a leg and a very bushy tail obscuring his view of the girl. Damn that man! She was challenging him, couldn't he understand that? Out of everyone in this world, Santana should have been able to see a threat!

Sadly, Santana did see...and he was determined to keep this from turning into another brawl. His ears laying back into his hair again, he shook his head and tried to explain to Allete as best as he could, "He's just...scared. He doesn't like being touched. Lit, calm down," he directed the comment behind him, his voice stern as he tried to keep as much distance between the girl and the boy.

(( Short PD? I don't know how much more you want to have Allete test Lit, haha. ))

"I'll eat you," Litural growled menacingly under his breath. Santana sighed, not really wanting to discourage the girl. She was such a innocent little thing...he'd hate to burst her happy-go-lucky bubble.

"Well, Lit and I still have a lot of shopping to do...maybe you two can play together another day?" Yes, this would be good. Give Litural a little more time to grow up, to settle down, and some day he'd be a normal child who would be able to have friends.

"Why don't you introduce me to your mom or dad and I can give one of them our phone number, okay?"

When Allete came back around the corner with Niki, they'd see Santana kneeling down next to the boy, looking very stern. They might even catch the tail end of the conversation. Something about remaining calm, not biting others...and he was to behave in front of this child's mother.

"Santana," the man introduced himself as he stood, reaching out to shake the offered hand from Niki...the other laying on Lit's far shoulder. Not really holding him in place, but definitely asserting a presence on the boy.

"This is Litural," he said with a motion to the younger boy.

Lit wasn't happy. He hated being scolded, hated Santana's power over him. He was looking off to the side until his name was stated, glancing up at the woman with narrowed eyes.

"Hi." It was a short greeting...barely that. His wings shifted, half fluffed and obviously irritated by the situation.

Santana sighed a little, looking to Niki apologetically. He really didn't want her to distrust his charge this early in the game. He wanted Lit to have friends some day...Allete could be a good one.
