It is the year 6832700 in the magical realm of Mitose. All things seem peaceful and undisturbed, as they have been for the last three generations. In a world where magical energies flow freely and people strive for knowledge and peace, what could go wrong?
But, in truth, the one thing that sets this land apart form the world outside is an ancient, unbreakable wall which surrounds the entire realm. It is the tallest wall a man's eyes will see, and not even the guards who watch over it know how thick it is. Only the ancient Masters, long passed into the next world, knew what it's purpose and power really was ment for when it was first built.
But a new age of curious youth has arrived. The adolesence of this world, not content with living out their lives inside the huge city, question the meaning behind this wall. But only the bravest will dare to challenge what they have been told not to question.
So--students from the lands five top schools, each with a distinct and hard-to-master field of study, have banded together in order to form a "discovery group". Each with their own beliefs and abilities, they will be tested with everything they've got as they search for a way to cross over the wall....

The Academy of the "Sea"
In the world of Mitose there is a wall seperating you from the "Outworld".
Even though the city is enormous, there are no lakes or oceans of any kind. So then, how does a school that teaches everything one would ever need or want to know about the ocean exist? Simple--
The cities in Mitose are very techonologically advanced and, with the combination of science and magic, they have created an amazing device. Known to the people simply as Otosas, i is a machine which uses magical energies in order to create a portal of sorts, which transports one to an untouched, planet of ocean called Salasi. By using this device, the people can travel to Salasi and back in matter of moments. Though this is useful to the people, the waters on Salasi have proven to be too much to make any settlements, so ship simply come and go from the "Access Point", picking up and dropping off crew, supplies, and their catches.
Thus, I have explained the reason for the Academy of the Sea.

The Alabastor Magix Academy
Over one thousand years ago, this academy was the first established within the city. It is not only the oldest building still standing, but one of the richest schools, as well. Its library is as vast as its history, and the dorms are the finest in all of Mitose. A result of the pricey tuition, the school has unoffcially become a "nobles and rich kids only" kind of school. As well, due to the extrodinary skills of the teaching staff, and the superb curriculum, not only are the schools students the most powerful and gifted magic users, they also have the biggest egos. Most the kids are snobs and will not even talk to "outsiders". It is rare to meet a kind person....

The Sword Of Consequence Academy
Established at the height of the "New Era", this school is the most useless of the schools. The only things taught have to do with battle and survival. The curriculum is absolute secret, and those attending must swear and oath of silence. While its teaching techniques are questionable and its students the most dangerous and tempermental of any school in Mitose, the people find that, in knowing they are preparing some of the children to protect, they are ensuring a safe future for the weak and strong alike. Because you never know what the future holds, right? It was given a lower rank simply because most of the students either become guards for the Wall or enter in the "underground" battle competitions known simply as "Wine"(these competitions were made just for students of this schools, but, as times changed, non-attendies of SOCS could enter).

Arthur Amilia's "School Of Angels--Angelic Gakuen"
One of the lower rank schools, Angelic Gakuen(name given by the students) if the poorest of the poor. Because the government refuses to fund its classes and research, the students depend entirly on second-hand books and bad teaching in order to learn anything. The schools was established 14 years ago by Arthur Amilia, who wanted to know more about the strange children who seemed able to fly--whether with wings or on a broom, he wanted to know more about these forgotten "angels", which the city seemed not to care about. Arthur is a very kind headmaster, and his kindness is reflected in those he teaches. Due to the severe lack of staff, he teaches twelve different classes over the course of a week, and never has a day off(since it takes longer to learn everything they need to in a year, the students attend school every day of the week, only having a few holidays off). The humble atmosphere emitted by the students is very comforting to those who attend this school simply to avoid being thrown into the Hopeless Gakuen, assuming they had no money to attend other academies. You don't have to be able to fly to attend.

Alice Mark's "Hopeless Gakuen"
This is the bottom of the bottom--a last chance school. This school was created by the suggestion of Alice Mark, an active member of the city's council, and a very strick woman. She decided that too many of today's youth wandered the streets aimlessly, causing trouble in or out of school, and broke the law one to many times. This school, which is well funded by the government, is the most strick place you will ever be. Though its student body is made up of delinquits, rules are almost never broken and everyone walks through the halls in pure silence, for fear of punishment by their headmaster, Alice Mark. Though this place can control its students for the time they remain inside, once they step into the outside world, whether permenantly, or just for a day off, their true nature shows. A lot of them are involved in underground gambling, but that's about it. As well, tension is made between students because you are divided and place depending on when you arrive--not your age. If it's your first year here, your a first year, regardless of age or education. You must be careful of what you do in your free time, as well. Fear of getting caught is felt by all. Hopeless cases arn't the only attendees--kids who come from poor family's who have to money often find themselves students here alongside of those ordered by the government to attend. The atmosphere is cold and uncaring--in order to survive, one must always watch their back.

While some medieval themes are great for it, please remember--this isn't a place where you'd find laptops, i don't suppose, but you will hear the occasional pumped-up stereo or see some one watching the news on tv. It's like a fantasy sci-fi, then....Keep your minds open and come up with something great!
