Today I had a sort of 'mock' competition. It was going good. Everything was going good. But... then the unthinkable happened.
You see I have these terrible bruises on my feet from my shoes (;o wink and so I decided, 'Well hey, I'll just step on the back of them, the pants cover them, no one will see,' little did I know that I would step right out of my shoe while backwards marching. No one really noticed, thank god, but it was hella embarrassing. sweatdrop

Haha fun! We had a huge competition in Souix Falls SD last year and one of our trumpet players forgot to put his sleeves down before we got on the field >< it was bad haha.

Oh no!
Yesterday we were watching other bands after we performed and one poor clarinet lost their hat... A judge faced down certain death to run in the midst of woodwinds to retrieve it. biggrin

Let's see.... freshman year, a senior dropped her clarinet while flipping it. xD She picked it up as the whole band spun in a circle.
It wasn't at a competition, but at my last hime game my pant snaps cames apart. x3 Luckily I alway wear black pants underneath so it wasn't that noticable.

I always worry I'll lose my mouthpiece.
Usually, the band people (drum majors, parents, instructors) make sure to grab whatever it was that fell as the band marches off the field, because you often don't have time to pick it up (and you don't want to, because you'd get out of the form).

At least once a year, my friend (who is a pretty big guy) never fails to rip the seat of his bibbers open for all to see. Hasn't happened this year, but we'll see.
Last Saturday at competition my Shako wasn't adjusted right, so it kept flipping up onto the top of my forehead. I had some really bad zits that day, so you could see them up close. x[
