I'd like to preface by saying I didn't see a thread about this so I think it would be interesting.

How did you get addicted to Xena?

My story: I was very young when I got my first dose. I was about six or seven when I was mentally scarred by Xena. Now don't get me wrong, Xena's a great show, but is construed completely differently when you're small. I'll get to the point. So I'm guessing everyone remembers the episode called "The Quill Is Mightier"? With the three naked dancing Gabrielles? Yeah. That was just a bit shocking when I was just a young'n. I always watched it with this girl named Tabitha, she was about eighteen at the time I believe. Anyway, whenever my mother went over to see her boyfriend Rob, me and Tabitha chilled and watched Xena. Granted I barely knew what was happening, I just thought the cheezy sword fights were the best! So Rob and my mom broke up and for years I never gave the show a second thought. Years later, I was bored on YouTube, looking for something to watch and this image just pops into my head and I'm like "Man! I have to find that episode and watch it!!". It took me about two weeks to figure out what the episode was called and what season it was from. When I discovered that I checked to see if it was on YouTube, it wasn't so I figured I'd order the season. I looked at the price and was floored. I had some spare cash and I figured "Hell, why not!" and so I bought all six seasons. Little did I know the next six months of my life owuld be consumed with sub-text and battle cries. My mother was so annoyed with me when I would stay up all night, feigning insanity watching the show. "Xena, again?" She would always say. What can I say. I've got a problem and I like it.

i waz a poor kid crying my parents died in a car accident in space and i had teh live alone in a box crying for money i had teh sell my eye lashes so people culd make wishes off of them. as i waz passin deh tv store ther waz a tv in deh window 3nodding after YEARS of not watchin tv i decided teh sit down and watch. and WHO waz on!? surprised no one but teh one and only.............. CAPTAIN PLANET! eek but deh tv dude changed it teh xena 3nodding so i watched that and shortly after i invented fire and got realleh rich and moved teh california wher i made deh xena movie and happily ever after 3nodding

whut waz deh first episode yuu saw? blaugh

My dad used to watch Xena and Hercules. I caught maybe... 2 episodes of it from season 3 (The Debt and The Bitter Suite) and for the next six or so years, all I had to remember Xena by was the memory of Xena in that stockade thing in The Debt and her killing Gabrielle in The Bitter Suite (granted, I thought she stabbed her with a pitchfork, not a sword). Well, I had those two memories, plus the animated Hercules and Xena movie.

So for six years, I lived with those three things keeping my interest in Xena alive. About a year after my dad died, My mom and I found season 6 at a Wal-Mart and bought it (friggin' 60 bucks. >.<). I WAS SO CONFUSED!!! I was angry at the show because everything had changed. Xena had a grown woman as a kid and Gabrielle did not have her pretty, long hair. So, I stopped watching it.

About a year later (summer of 10th grade), I had the random urge to watch it again. So, I started from the beginning and could not stop. I wore out my season 6 box and I think I watched To Helicon and Back around 8 times and The Abyss 9 times that summer.

After that, I was hooked. My mom started buying me the seasons (out of order) and I could not stop watching the episodes. When that wasn't enough, I read fanfiction. Then I got my friends hooked on it. I guess my Xena addiction started because it was a way for me to reconnect with my dad, who I never really talked to, even though he isn't here anymore. Now I use it as a way to connect with my best friends. smile Xena is just the solution to everything.

deh first or second time i saw doctor in deh house i thought it waz a dumb season finale then i watched it again and i waz like whut deh crotch waz i thinkin!? this ish CANDEH! gonk

(and they sorta took off connor too! crying freds still my favorit...and illyria did kick much deh butt.... ninja my favorit part waz in deh last episode when she shapeshifted from fred teh illyria and bashed a dudes face in rofl )

Hehe. Long hair Gabby will always be my favorite. She was so cute! And what can I say? I'm kind of a sweet person, I guess.
