Pembe
With the sun high in the sky and slow going across it, the pink lion was well on his way across the lands. He had left his homelands not too long ago and the thoughts of his family were still fresh in his mind. His pale eyes gazed ahead, the scenery was just blending together but it didn't matter to Pembe, he knew, as always, that something fun was bound to happen.

Devu
Mavundevunde was gliding low. It wasn't a typical occurance for the cloud god. He much prefered to be up among his domain and far from the view and interaction of mortals. It was easier that way and, in his opinion, more enjoyable. For the distant natured god always found clouds far more exciting than company.

But today he was floating only a few feet above the ground as he drifted. His neck was craned so that this gray eyes were turned upward, ever watchful of his world that flew overhead.

Pembe
Perhaps it had been something about the god's presence nearby that made Pembe begin to feel as if he wasn't alone. Like the sensation that one gets when being stared at. Curious to see where this feeling came from, his pale blue eyes looked around once more before he blinked in surprise. Or rather, awe. He should have known by now that there were things out there that shouldn't surprise him, because there was much to learn. But this, this was something entirely different.

The figure not too far off was moving but its legs weren't. Now there was something he didn't see everyday. But as always, curiousity got the best of him as he took a few steps after the figure and called out, "Hello."

Devu
At first the god offered no response. He simply continued to drift, his wings and tail tip swirling like the misty clouds above. But, belatedly, his ears flicked backwards. Then, seemingly reluctant, he turned his head towards the voice he had heard. Even at this it took a moment for his eyes to pull away from the near magnetic force of his specialty and to look at the lion who had called out to him.

But his only response was a blank, puzzled stare. He didn't even bother to say hello. It just wasn't something that occured to him.

Pembe
When the figure had stopped moving and turned around to look at him, Pembe's eyes widen in surprise...and then amusement. Who would have thought that he, of all lions, would be before the god of clouds? The very clouds of which he likes to stare at and play games with! Althought, he hadn't gotten that far in putting the two together yet. All he knew was that this lion was very different from himself.

With a friendly smile, not at all taken back by the other's silence, he spoke, "I see you like the clouds. I love looking at the clouds, even now that I'm older, I don't tire of them."

Devu
From experience Devu had learned that most mortals were either boring or confusing. But this lion started off on the right foot; something Devu already understood and could willingly talk about. So where his answers were typcially reduced to a few words at best and a distracted sense of patience, he actually seemed ready to converse, if only slightly.

"They are always changing...there is always something new to look at," he agreed, his voice very whimsical and breathless sounding, "No one could grow tire of them...they don't remain the same enough for that."

Pembe
He was rather surprised that the lion had answered him back, as Pembe was beginning to wonder if this was just a figment of his imagination. It was good to know that he wasn't hallucinating!

At the lion's words, he agreed. "There is never a day where they are the same. Always changing and providing a sight to look at every day." And then he paused before he spoke again, "I don't know how any one could tire of them. Not only do they take on a life of their own, they can change colors." Sunrise and sunset were his favorite time of day.

Devu
Devu nodded sagely, as if every word the lion spoke was truth. In his mind it might be. "Yes...they change well on their own. I don't have to make them, except once and a while," he spoke of his powers casually, as if they were already understood. He tended to shape the clouds for his amusement and rarely for specific purproses. After all...what serious task could be done by the shaping or moving of clouds?

"Yes, they are like clusters of sticky rainbows," he admitted in an accidentally poetic sense. He wasn't usually good with words or understandings, but it was the best way to describe it visually. Especially when he was used to flying through them and seeing how light would shine off of each glisting water molecule

Pembe
As the lion spoke once more, Pembe could feel himself drawn into the god's words. There was something about them that made him like there was more to this lion. And it wasn't until he spoke about making the clouds do something where he was finally touching the tip of the iceberg. "It's nice to see that they all have speeds of their own. Some laze on slowly while others come and go within the blink of an eye." Clouds were something he loved, ever since he was a cub. Perhaps that is why he had become a rogue in the first place.

"Ah, rainbows." Rainbows were one of many things that he could associate with the clouds, but always seemed to miss most of the time by doing one thing or another. "During the sunrise or the sunset, the clouds are painted nice shades of color."

Devu
"It depends on the wind, usually," he admitted, "And how close to rain the clouds are." It seemed, from what he knew, was that the heavier the cloud with water the slower it moved. The reason they moved so fast in storms was because the wind in storms was far more powerful.

He nodded absently, obviously feeling the color topic had been exhuasted at his last comment. Idly his eyes flickered upwards. Today the clouds weren't very shapely...they were the kind that tiled the style, leaving only small patches here and there to look at the blue richness beyond. Not good for cloud-watching, but it gave a great feeling of endlessness...and feeling he knew far better from flight.

Pembe
With a nod, Pembe listened to the god intently. This was certainly an experience he'd remember for a while to come. When the god spoke of the wind, it was one thing that he had not taken into account, for the most part. "I'd all by forgotten about the wind." It had never been that important to him.

When the god's gaze shifted from him towards the sky, he let his own gaze follow slowly. The clouds were nice, in his eyes, something he would probably spend a little time looking at later today. "Perhaps I should not keep you for much longer than I already have. It's been a pleasure." He meant it, but could feel that the god had other things on his mind and didn't want to annoy the god any more than he should.

Devu
"It can be easily forgotten," he replied simply, as if the element weren't really as important as its effects. Often he didn't even...think about it. He knew, of course, of the wind's changes, but didn't bother mulling over them.

He blinked at the lion briefly and then nodded his head slowly, like a lion half in sleep, "Hmmm...yess." He rose a little from his floating position, slowly rising into the sky. He didn't offer much of a farewell, but it just wasn't within his nature. So he just continued upward to join the objects of his domain with a peaceful mind. He did, however, give a small last look at the mortal lion before leaving. And that was certainly saying something about his fellow cloud-lover.
