Nina thought for a minute while staring up at the red words on the screen then she smiled. "No... not yet. I have a plan. Steve! Send them a message!" Quickly she pulled out a small piece of paper and scribbled down some words. Then she handed it to Steve who read it and sighed heavily.
"...You can't be serious...?" He asked, with obvious depression in his voice.
"Of course!" The captain smiled widely. "It's a great idea!" And like a slave, Steve replied to the enemy ships message with thier own, muttering Why me... why me... under his breath. This time, another response came only seconds after they sent the message. It read:
Considering your request of a trade...
...
...
Granted.
We will take the three Delegates you have onboard
In exchange for food and fuel
Afterwhich your vessal has 1:00 hour to
Vacate the area or be destroyed.
Steve looked up at the screen like he was about to cry. He knew that he was one of these "delegates" and who knows what else the Captain had in mind. "What an ingenius plan." Nina complimented herself. "I offered to trade them ourselves..." She pointed to the three of them in the room. "...for supplies to move our ship. We spend a small amount of time in prison while our faithful crew moves to a safe zone, gets the ship fixed and then we escape. It's perfect! But, oh. If anybody asks... We are very important people. I said that this ship was transporting some world leaders to a convention or something blah blah... Got it?"
[Oh, and in case you're wondering. It's just me, you and Steve in this room right now. And the rest of the crew doesn't like Nina because she's a bad captain.]
