Who'da thunk we'd get to 8 seasons.

I'm surprised they renewed it especially after the last season, but hey, they have a chance to redeem themselves now. Can't wait to see it.

Well, Smallville is still one of the most watched shows on the cw..The network is in a sorry state right now coming up with the most ridiculous crap imaginable like farmers wife and getting rid of quality shows like Gilmore Girls and Veronica Mars..It's too bad..And here comes my very smallvile bashing comment and view about Smallville. Feel free to disagree. Also, I do think that Lex needed to have a break this season. I think 7 seasons should of been enough to explore his character..So ya, here..Very different from my tone when I first joined the guild.

They have turned it into a boring not so exciting soap opera all about Clana and Romance..I feel like smallville has gone in circles and has done the same repetitive things over and over again...I feel it's time for a new villain, new producers, and a new direction. Al Gough and Miller had no idea what direction they were going in last season..They just made it for entertainment. I hoping they make smallville different and better this year with more in depth meaningful themes..I don't really have much confidence but I will see..My hint is, Take a hint from Joss! He is a genius. HE actually made his main character interesting and dynamic! As well as the rest of his characters..

I'm enjoying the way the episode played out. It looks like this season may have a lot of promise to it, as Clark is FINALLY ditching the farm and everything else, and is now concentrating on what he has to become.

Although I'm not holding my breath, because Smallville has done this before.

I thought this was a great way to start off a brand new season.. and direction for Smallville. Overall a good quality episode. At some points it was kinda "bleh" but still, good.

The Clois scenes were amazing. We finally get to see hints of what this show was supposed to be.

Ya, I agree with you both. This premiere was much better then I expected it to be. There were none of those special effects that usually dominate the first episode with all its pointlessness and no big bad being beat in one episode like usual(Bizarro and Zod..) It actually accomplished a lot of problems that Smallville was frozen in..Clark with his farm and his life that was impossible..He is finally letting go. Also, doesn't look like we will see the clana drama for hopefully a while..I loved the scene where the Green arrow beats up Clark smile . It wasn't a great episode, but it was decent and meaningful. Smallville may never match the greatness of other shows, but it does seem like a "change I can believe in." Very promising..

I'm sorry for anyone who still likes her, but Chloe was completely ******** obnoxious this episode (shock, shock). All of that stuff about her being an idiot savant who's better at crunching numbers than a super-computer was just -- ugh.

Also, PRIORITIES. Lois is unconscious on the floor and Chloe couldn't care less. It's like she didn't even notice Lois was there, she was so busy chatting it up with Clark about whatever. Plus? You're not the most important person in the world, Chloe: what's with the entitled "omg I've been waiting!" as if Clark couldn't possibly have had anything more important to do than bust her out of jail (which is where he thought she was)?

I have so many issues with Chloe.

Lois was awesome. Clark was a world of amazing. Clark & Lois was win. heart

I though the episode was a great start. I didn't really like Chloe's new power though. Too bad she couldn't a techopath!!

I didn't think she was obnoxious. She told lois to look out and she hasn't seen clark in a month. She couldn't do anything about lois but she could say something to clark whom she considers family as well.

Question: If Chloe is so smart and super IQ and stuff... why couldn't she think of an escape plan?

Couldn't she like steal that lab guy's pen and stab him, use her amazing computer skills to turn off the alarm system and then get out or something. Yeah that sounds stupid, but I don't have a super IQ. You'd think if someone could crack a code they could get out of a building.

And let me guess, she is some new Braniac right?

And what happened to "keep an eye on Lois"? Totally left her cousin there and for what, it isn't like she could heal Clark or nothing. Ooo let's look on as the red guy flies away and not care that Lois is still unconscouis on the floor upstairs.

Chloe's not super-smart; she's just REALLY GOOD at sudoku.

It's not the same thing.

Yeah but shouldn't it be? blaugh

Question... why is the Talon always empty now a days? Or are they just out really late... wait... how come Lex still lets Chloe/Lois live there anyways??

watched it, thanks to youtube :]
am i the only one who thought things were a bit rushed? i mean it took clark 7 seasons to move on, and then in one episode he's over it all? confused I like the new direction though, it looks good.

i'm really happy to see y'all not losing your faith in smallville. It makes me feel all glow-y inside xd I miss how this guild used to be, its kinda slow these days. [I'm partially to blame for that...] heart

I actually thought it about time things sped up to where he is over things. I couldn't stand him moping around whining about how Lana is gone or how he wont be human or anything again.
