Without Usufii by his side, he moved with soft steps in the afternoon heat. Pissed and agitated already by the beating sun and the fact that no tree was around to cast its shadow for him. Not even the rare waterholes were around. Which pissed him off the most was that all the trees that he could find weren't even good enough for a shade to begin with! The only thing he was envious of his brother was the fact that he had a lighter coat. Valse was 'blessed' with the markings of his apparently family member, as his father had once said. The dark features and coloration of his fur was on his father's side but the markings were that of his mother's. The ebony dark mane that was common on his father's side, which oddly whom did not have a dark mane. Great green eyes that were sharp as his teeth and claw. At a glance, he was a threat to anyone if left alone to do whatever he wanted. With Usufii by his side, everyone better watch out.
Beads of sweat was already sliding down his face, a growl emitting loudly to warn off any idiots who was going to bother a pissed off lion like him. He was only an adolescent, but that was perhaps one of the more dangerous moments in a lion's life cycle. They were driven with their hormones, heavy with testosterone, he was ready to take on anyone and he was seeking a way to... "quench his desires". Corny.
Glancing off in the distance, the ex-Outlander saw a lone tree, its shade reaching so far. It was calling him--no, it was made for him. Finally, some effing shade! Not even a stampede of elephants will stop him from getting over there now.

Katiti'manina wasn't in any particular sort of mood this afternoon, which might be the worst possible situation for her to be in. She was bored, plain and simple. The vision she had the previous night had led her to a bunch of nothing. Really, she hadn't been able to properly follow the clues in her vision, and she still had no idea where that treasure could be hidden. Her visions weren't usually this vague, but maybe it was because of fatigue... or some other sort of ailment. Within her visions usually lied some hint to where she could find what she desired. They weren't always accurate, and she had to do a lot of guesswork. At times they would show her of when an item was buried, a scene of a lion hiding away his treasured posession in a cave. If Kat could locate that cave, she was almost certain to take the treasure as her own. Did that make her a thief?
Yeah.
Did it bother her?
Not one bit.
Finders keepers, losers weepers. That whole ordeal.
Katiti'manina had been under the sun for too long, and so a little while earlier she had come upon a suitable tree. Of course, said tree was the one Valse now set his sights on. Kat was curled up on the other side of it, the bulk of the tree hiding her body from view. If not for the tree, she would have been quite visible for her startling red and black pelt, and for the gold jewelry that decorated her body. She had several piercings her ears, and her eyebrow and even her lowerlip were pierced as well. Where ever jewelry could be fit, it went. One could say that she was very into the material aspects of life.
She almost looked like a primma donna. But, she wasn't. No, she was a rough and tumble kind of girl, with a fierce attitude and an even sharper tongue. She didn't back down to anybody, and she wasn't ashamed of what she did. There would be no apologies from her. There would be no pity too. She wasn't mean, she just had one helluva attitude at times, and she liked to make things spark... like anger. She liked to tease and taunt, and see where it got her.

Valse set foot upon the shadow letting out a breath of utter relief. So much cooler than the scorching grasslands of the savanna. Cursed place this was, not even sure it even had a claim to it. Wherever the hell the two were going, it was definitely in contested areas for other prides. Rogue Lands. Not wanting to singe his fur, if it was at all possible, he quickly propped himself up against the tree with another sigh.
So. Effing. Cool.
Lifting his head up to the sky, letting his lanky, ebony mane mask his face, he smirked. This was a good place to relax and wait for his nitwit brother. Which meant he would have to roar for his location and what not. Traveling with his brother was a hassle, but one cannot argue with the current circumstances. With a paw over his belly and a quiet hum in his throat, he could relax with little care in the world. The sun was locked behind the leafy bulwark, the rare breeze was appreciated immensely, and the sweet scent of a female just made it ever so perfect.
A pause.
Valse moved his head forward, glancing through his peripheral vision for any signs of another around. Sarafina? Mother? The whelps? A soft, inaudible growl grew in his body as he jerked his body over to his forepaws. Taking another glance around as paranoid began to start up, emerald eyes fell upon the form of another just around the corner of the tree. With a scent like this, it did not reek of the Outlands and it did not look like an Outlander ... Well, sort of. Either way, he was happy here and this female wasn't going to ruin it.
He was sweaty.
He was hot.
He was tired.
He was not going to tolerate much another, especially the presence of another stealing his breeze, his bulwark, and his cool air.
"What are you doing here?" Valse growled, his voice young, but strong.
