I broke up with my GF on sat/sun. It was a little selfish of me cause i want to be a little more free, but i didn't want to hurt her. some of the things i want to do would have ment i would have had to change who she is, and i couldn't do that to her. We ended on good terms and eventually we should be able to talk and hang out again but now i feel empty.
I feel i did something wrong. I know i hurt her but is it wrong to want to look after your own wants and needs as well?

If you feel like you did the right thing, and do not regret it, then it's all good..:3

Sorry about the break-up man. They're always tough, and occasionally you can feel regretful, believe me.
/But/, always do what you feel is right for yourself. If the relationship wasn't giving you what you needed and/or wanted? It was better to end things and find someone else that is better for you.

Well I keep switching between regret and no regret. I do care for her very much but now wasn't the time.(If that makes any sense) I have a high sex drive and she had almost none and that was the biggest strain for me. I got some advice from some older co-workers of mine that said this drive of mine will eventually wear out, so i should just use it while i can. and when that happens and if i haven't met someone else who makes me feel this way then go see her. College is no time for relationships, i should just have fun before the real world come crashing down.
I look at what i have sadi with mixed feelings, is it wrong to try to satisify your own needs?

If you had stayed with her you only would have prolonged the break up, especially if it's because you're not happy with something.
And I understand your reasoning, if you have a relationship in college that you're not happy with, it's better to go solo. Once we get out of here we really are in the real world, and the time we had to ******** around before will just disappear and be replaced with... oh, life.
Personally though, I would feel horrible if my boyfriend broke up with me because we weren't having enough sex.

paintxitorange Personally though, I would feel horrible if my boyfriend broke up with me because we weren't having enough sex. It wasn't the only reason, it was part of it but NOT the main reason. I hope i never do that to someone cause i know what it feels like to be used.

If you feel empty, maybe it was time for you to get out there again. Try to find someone new, you need to do whats best for you.

Burgman I broke up with my GF on sat/sun. It was a little selfish of me cause i want to be a little more free, but i didn't want to hurt her. some of the things i want to do would have ment i would have had to change who she is, and i couldn't do that to her. Now take that perspective in the eyes of my girlfriend (now ex)... she broke up with me on Sunday September 7. She said something along the lines of me being distracting... however, I bothered her on Thursday and Friday after the break-up for a study session kinda deal... and on Friday she took her French test and got the highest grade! Yea, some distraction I am...
