A light breeze ruffled the grass lightly, but even more so as a 'bloody' looking dog walked though the blades. It was a nice day, if not a little hot. Koin liked days like this. They were the perfect time to laze about all day and get nothing accomplished. But today, Koin didn't feel like being lazy. His pups were grown, so he didn't really need to be around terribly often and he could go back to his wandering ways. The breeze pushed Koin forward, and he didn't look back. That was how Koin lived his life, free as the wind.
Koin padded onto a worn path before making his way down it. He wasn't worried about what could jump out at him just yet. He sented the air.

The calm, lazy day had evoked a similar mood in the dark brown hyena known as Dubu'mwana. He was normally talking with the newcomers to his watering hole...but today, he was content under a tree a few yards away. The sun was bright, the sky was clear, and the breeze was sweet and carried the promise of newcomers and the changing of seasons.
His head perked up, curious as to what newcomer was coming down one of the well-used paths to the watering hole.

A hyena? Koin scented again. He was positive it was, it smelt like one at least. Some smells could be deceiving sometimes. He also smelt the wondrous smell of moisture in the air. Due to rain or a waterhole around.
Koin turned his head to the general direction of the 'hyena'. Maybe the hyena would be good company after walking on a lazy day like this.

The hyena stood, shaking bits of grass from his shaggy fur and trotting closer to the path, closer to the new scent. And he saw who was coming down the path. A wild dog, mostly white with some splotches of color.
He sat, intrigued. Not many wild dogs came this way. So it was always nice to see such a creature...as long as he didn't try to cause trouble.

The red and white colored dog turned his head towards the hyena, who was brown in color. This would only be the second hyena he's encountered, but he'd seen so many. A soft gleams shone in Koin's expressive eyes. He made a lightly causious move towards the Hyena. He seemed friendly enough.
"Hello," Koin called out with a happy bounce in his voice. A smile graced his maw warmly, as not to look threatening or troublesome.

Ah....good. The wild dog didn't seem to want any trouble. If he did...well, Dubu was big, and he knew how to use his bulk. The other inhabitants of the watering hole might not have liked him so much...but Dubu did his best to keep his home safe...whether he got praise or not. A calm smile crossed Dubu's muzzle and he nodded in acknowledgment.
"Hello there. What brings a lone dog to these parts?" It was a bit strange seeing a wild dog alone...didn't they usually travel in packs? Like many of his brethren?

"A bit of traveling," Koin stated. He always traveled. Pack life wasn't his thing. He'd never be able to stay on path with his pack. It just wasn't.... plausible to him. Koin ventured a tiny bit closer to the Hyena with a small smile. Koin hesitated for a second. "Am I intruding on your territory?" He asked lightly almost casually.
