I first got into reading romance when I picked up one of Lori's books becuase I thought the cover looked awesome. Little did I know it would spark my love (obsession) with romance books. For that, she will always be one of my favorite authors.

Not only is she an awesome author, who writes interesting, down-to-earth, believable characters you just can't help but love, she's a wonderful person who's always willing to talk to her fans at get-togethers or on her message board and donates to a number of worthwhile causes fighting domestic violence and animal abuse.

She's recently started writing under the name L.L. Foster delving into her "dark side" with her Servant books.

She's written a looot of books, so here's an abbreviated list (A lot of her older books have also been reissued, some under new titles). XD

Funny story about Servant: The Awakening.

I will be going to a conference in Louisville, Kentucky, in October, with three other girls and a few teachers/faculty. Our English teacher called us all in for a meeting to talk about some of the details of the trip. Being me, I brought along S:Awake, which I'd just picked up and was only ten or so pages into, so I could read a little beforehand, when no one's doing anything.

I've read Lori Foster's stuff before. Compared to some of the stuff I read, she's doesn't have many sex scenes--only one or two, to my memory; not to mention, she's deviating a little (not a lot) from her usual romances, rather like KMM is doing. So I felt pretty comfortable taking it along to the meeting.

Well, imagine my surprise when my teacher picked up my book, flipped to the middle, and began reading to illustrate about how fast we should be reading our papers.

Then he stopped...his eyes went wide...his mouth dropped open a little...and I about died on the spot. We were all laughing, of course, but I'll bet apples to acorns that I was roughly the same color as a beet.

Then I finished the book a few days later, and it was even less racy than I was expecting. In fact, there were only about two paragraphs that I think would've invoked that reaction.

Just my luck.

Haha.

Continuation series tend to be like that: Low on the sex 'til later in the series. And she did deviate, that's why she published it under a different name. LF's a huge scary movie fan and I guess she got inspired. XD
