"A prettyish little kind of wilderness" was out a proper person in a book would describe it. "Niceish little place." was really all Riot would say. This was mostly due to not consider the garden area on either side of the small path towards the cafe as "wilderness". He also considered it much more 'nice' than 'pretty'.
The man was on his way to visit a cafe he'd heard tell of since he'd recently located his shop to that area. His previous business was a bit too small and located in an area that was just too full of strange and not quite interested people for business to work. So he had moved to this area barely a fortnight before.
Now he was making a point of making a visit to what was believed to be one of the oldest establishments in the area. He had gotten mixed reports about the cafe. A few of the more 'manly' men in the area had asked him to the bar a few times and recommended he not go anywhere near the cafe as it was seemingly way too 'gay' for a tough guy to be there. Riot had informed them that he was going back to his book store to have a cup of tea and that they should shut the hell up before they pissed someone off. He had also deigned to remove his hat at that time, leaving most of them gaping, but I digress.
Quite soon he was staring at a lovely latticed little cafe that was actually rather pleasant to take in. Calmly removing his hands from the pockets of his light-tan colored slacks and adjusting his white button-up, he entered.

The inside of the cafe was, as promised, incredibly gay. Displays stands and cups and plates and treats all seemed to be somehow pastel-colored. The walls were white and of nondescript material, carved intricately and holding pillars. Anything Riot had heard about this place being old was almost definitely true. ...wait. Was that a tree wrapped around that pillar...?
A few people sat scattered at tables, typing on laptops or sipping pretentious cups of coffee. A man watched from behind the display cabinets, smiling. His eyes were a striking grey, and his hair long and straw-blonde, pulled back into a ponytail. When he saw Riot enter, he waved.
"Welcome. How can I help you?"
The display case below him was lined with pastries and incredibly beautiful cupcakes, not to mention many, many basins of what looked to be fresh gelati.

Smiling warmly, Riot walked over and looked up at the man pleasantly. "Hello. I mostly just came to look this place over, since I'm new in town. Though, now that I'm here, the gelati does look amazing." he commented, voice light and smooth, an irish accent tinting his words.
His fuzzy feline ears twitched amidst his shock of black hair, making their little light colored selves visible. His tail twitched a bit a bit, but it had been somewhat obvious anyway. Honestly, gelati did look sooooooooo appealing.

"Feel free to look around. We have a garden out back. Just call me when you want something," Talhevar said, still smiling. It was strange, to see an obviously ancient creature in a t-shirt, jeans, and apron.
Well, maybe not.
This was Gaia, after all.

Riot took his time to wander about the little shop, taking in the details. The description of being totally gay was accurate but not a deterrent. The neko had never much cared for how effeminate his surroundings were. There was really no point in such a thing, especially when you lived a long time. At one point, things looking flamboyant was considered fashionable, and at least it wasn't New York City.
In the end, he wandered back towards the counter with the fresh gelati and decided he'd try the the rose flavor - he'd not tried that before, surprisingly and it seemed interesting.
"I think I've figured out something that I want." he told the shop's owner sheepishly. He felt rather childish, behaving this way, but he often did in the presence of the few creatures he knew to be older than he was.

Talhevar just grinned broadly.
"Well, then. What can I get for you?"

"I think I'd like to try a rose gelato." He told the other, still feeling somewhat awkward.

Talhevar smiled and nodded, beginning to scoop the gelato into a glass dish (or was that crystal?!). He was used to people coming in ad choosing the flower flavors just for the sake of curiosity.
"Would you like some lavender also? And could I interest you in a beverage?"

"Certainly. Didn't notice there was any of that." the black male said, eyebrows raising a bit in honest surprise. He really hadn't noticed it!
"Uh.....tea, possibly?" he requested softly.

Talhevar once again nodded and scooped some light purple in with the pink.
"Here. You should begin on it soon. It will elt quickly. What kind of tea?" He gestured to a board above his head, menu written in chalk by a fine, swirling hand.

"Of course." the man said, taking his bowl and spoon, making a quick glance over the menu. "Ah...peach tea would be fine. Thank you." he said pleasantly and went to find somewhere to sit down and eat his gelato.
He found a small table for two by one of the windows and took his seat to test out his treat. He took the time to savor his tastes and be amused by them. Had he had less self control, at that point he'd be purring. Luckily, for him, he was able to at least keep that impulse under lock and key and not completely embarrass himself.

In a moment, Talhevar brought this new customer his tea and gave a little bow.
"May I join you? I haven't had a seat in nearly 6 hours."

"Certainly." Riot replied with a nod. For one who looked the way the man did, he was actually rather friendly. And no one should be on their feet for six hours without a seat. "No time for a break?"

The elven man brushed a strand of stray hair behind a pointed ear and smiled. He gave another little bow as he sat.
"No, not at all. The shop was unusually busy today." The way he moved...it was ethereal. Slow.

Mr. McAvery sipped his tea thoughtfully and shrugged. "I guess it would get like that some days. From what I'm guessing, you'd be the only one in this area who sells such delicious gelati."
