It was their first true outing since Litural's outburst. Due to said episode, Santana kept a watch on the young boy with keen eyes as they strolled along a path through a park. The weather was warm, but a cool breeze that held the promise of fall stirred the leaves on the trees.
Lit walked slowly beside his guardian, his wings stretching some in the gentle wind. He supposed the man had been right...he needed to get out more. Being stuck inside a house all day was getting boring, and did nothing for his social skills. Like Lit really cared about his social skills.
"See what a pretty day is it out here, Lit?" Santana said, taking a moment to admire the scenery.
Lit looked around also, and shrugged. "Sure," he muttered.

Amanae was less-than pleased bringing her daughter out of the house. The girl looked like she'd been repeatedly abused, with multiple band-aids covering her freckled pink legs, her fingers wrapped in bandages, and a square-shaped heavy-duty band-aid on her forehead. The truth was she'd done it all to herself, in fits of frustration. The park seemed like a safe enough place at the time, so Amanae has dragged her away from the table she was beating her head against, thrown her in the car, and forced her outside into the park.
"Hate this. Hate this more than hate you." Nudeln informed Amanae monotonously. "Hate leaves and birds and sun and you,"
"Nudeln, please. It's not so bad out here. You keep acting like that and people will think you're Wrath's daughter." Amanae told Nudeln, pulling on her wrist to keep her walking alongside.

Litural's third eye was searching, seeming a little frustrated itself. Santana hadn't left Lit alone for very long since his temper tantrum, so the bit of demon in him was definitely looking for something to get into trouble with.
And when he saw the disgruntled looking kid down a ways from them, it made him grin rather wickedly. That top eye widened with glee. Yes. Perfect.
"This way," Litural said, taking Santana's hand and looking up at him...quickly realizing that may be a bad idea considering what he was planning. His third eye always gave him away. He looked down, tugging Santana along the way.
"Something you wanna see, Lit?" Santana asked, not so surprised that Lit had found something that interested him, but definitely shocked to see him wanting to share. He looked down along the hill they were descending, noticing the little girl and the woman with her.
"Hmm," Santana mused. He wasn't sure about this...

Crinkling her nose with disgust as she spotted the boy, Nudeln attempted to pull out of Amanae's grasp. The color of the boy made her eyes angry, and his big fluffy pretty wings made her writhe with jealousy.
Amanae spotted the boy too, noting that he was clearly from the same facility as Nudeln. She had been allowed to survey each of the demons and angels in photographs as she was told how Nudeln had come about, and what it meant to care for her. The three eyes red one had caught her eye, she remembered, noting that it's alignment was "Wrath" and constantly comparing Nudeln's gruff and putrid temper to it. Now this boy, red and three eyes...Amanae tried to remember what golden wings were from, but couldn't recall.

Lit rushed down the hill, Santana stumbling behind him. They were nearly on top of the mother/daughter pair before Lit stopped, looking at the girl intently with all three eyes. It was like he was sizing her up...his wings fluffed as he tried to look impressive and intimidating, but doing so as discretely as he could manage. He didn't want Santana to know he was going to try and start something.
"Um, hi," Santana said with a polite nod. "Beautiful day out, isn't it?" Small talk. He hated small talk. But really, this was for the kids...hopefully, Lit would find something in this funky looking tentacle girl that he could make a friend out of.

Nudeln wrapped her bite-mark ridden tentacles around her arms, as somewhat of a defense, or comfort. She took a deep breath and snorted hard, nostrils flaring. She sensed a certain threatening nature about the boy, and decided not to talk first, instead scuffing her feet on the ground and tightening the tentacles around her arms slightly.
Amanae squeezed Nudeln's wrist warningly. She didn't want any trouble from someone they'd just met. "Hi. Uh, yeah it is, I guess..." No aliens, no talking animals, just a red kid with an extra eye. today was a good day.

"My name's Santana...this is Litural," he said with a motion to the kid. "Lit, you gonna say hello?"
Lit's main eyes glanced up at his guardian, and he looked to the woman. His third eye never left the girl. "Hello," he said shortly, before directing back to his target.
"What's your name?" he said, his voice charged. It was a question, but one that demanded an answer.
Santana's eyes narrowed, and he stepped against the boy, his leg pressing into Lit's shoulder until he quite literally set the boy off balance. Lit stumbled a bit, his head snapping up with a three eyed glare at the adult as he regained his footing
"Don't." Santana's voice was just as commanding, the ears that poked from his white hair laid back.
Litural's eyes dropped, looking at the girl again. It was obvious his had lost that power struggle, but he wasn't going to let that happen with her when he got the chance.

Nudeln snorted heavily once more, and unwound the tentacles from her arms, allowing them to hover comfortably in small, forward-facing "S" shapes. "'Del." She informed him blandly. "Nudeln."
Amanae frowned slightly, hearing Nudeln use the odd nickname only her brother, Akira, had used. "I'm Amanae...Jiijin."

Lit's middle eye blinked away, first looking at one tentacle and then the other. When it focused back on the girl, it narrowed...and the other two eyes did the same.
"Freak," he spat under his breath.
Did he really understand what it meant? Barely. It'd been a word he'd heard often at the facility, usually directed at him during semi-lucid states before and after many a drug induced coma. What he understood about it was that the word made him felt lower than dirk.
He wanted Del to feel smaller than him.
Santana was distracted when the word was uttered. He was trying to explain his actions with Lit to Amanae...after all, she'd frowned when the wolf man had pushed the young boy off balance. Or at least that's how it had appeared.
"He gets a bit pushy sometimes," he rationalized. "It's just a technique of my people to establish dominance with rowdy pups."

Nudeln eyed the boy silently, appearing to be less-than-offended by the insult. "'least I only have two eyes." She growled back at him.
Amanae nodded slightly, unsure of where the explanation had come from. "Oh, does it work?" She asked, wondering if this man had a few pointers on dealing with Nudeln.

Santana shrugged at Amanae's question, "It takes time. Lit tends to think and act a lot like a pup, so I'm hoping it's a good way for me to communicate authority with him on that level."
One white ear perked suddenly at the growl, for a moment assuming it was Lit. The man glanced down sharply...and the guilt hit him hard. No, it'd been the other one. But still, there was something in Litural's general posture that reeked of aggression. He wasn't totally innocent.
"Lit." Santana's voice was even and firm, the man taking another step into the boy, his leg pressing into Lit's side. He didn't push him off balance again...the contact alone was enough to make Litural back down again.
While he never took his eyes off the girl, the child wouldn't speak. He was being watched, he was being (begrudgingly) controlled...and he wasn't going to challenge Santana here.
And he hated it. He hated not being able to just out right attack this girl. It made an old familiar burn start inside his chest...and all he wanted to do was give into it.
