North Arbor Greenhouse and Grounds Rarely seen in the rest of the arboretum, the North Arbor is covered by a beautiful old pine stand. Many different pines have been planted here alongside the natural pines to create a look of varied splendor. A carpet of needles softens footsteps, and many bushes and tiny herbs can be seen beneath the lush green canopy. The NAG rises above the Hill, facing the south. The scattered trees do little to block the sun, and the temperaure insid ehte greenhouse is always warm and humid. Mostly a nursery, young plants are brought here after breeding to grow. Who may post:Any parent with a plant anchored in North Arbor Staff members Other parents may play outside the actual building but may not enter the greenhouse without a staff member.

Songjewel unlocked the greenhouse door and switched on the huge fans that kept the air circulating. A power outage the night before had reset everything, so it all needed to be turned back on. As she walked the isles, spraying every tray carefully with a little mister, she stopped in front of Phili's pot.
The little sprite was curled around the base of her plant, seemingly asleep. Song smiled and dripped a few drops of water down the leaf's stem. When she still didn't rouse, Song plopped one of the fat water droplets right onto Phili's green mop of hair. Spluttering, the sprite jumped up and glared fondly at Songjewel.
"Oh you are SO getting that one back. Just wait," the little creature quipped.
Song grinned. "Rise and shine little beauty, I've brought you a treat." She took a small plastic bag out of her coat pocket. "Nitrogen pellets. They'll help you grow up big and strong." With a wink, she pulled one out and handed it to Phili.
The sprite's eyes grew wide and she grinned as she grabbed for the pellet. "You know, this still doesn't get you off the hook. You'd better watch your back." As Song watched, she dug a small hole near the stalk of her plant and buried the pellet. "But ah...thanks," she grinned, "and would you mind watering me again?"
Song's eyes twinkled as she squirted another couple of drops at Phili's hair, then soaked the plant's dry soil. Patting the sprite affectionately, she continued her rounds for the morning.

((I'm gonna use the base of the first post anyway xd )) Taneko was slightly out of breath. She prided herself in having a good health, but the slope had been so steep at places. She was so glad that she had had the oppertunity to meet Lulu and Bine, she wsa sure she would appreciate it alot more in the future.
Pink had been sitting on her shoulder throughout the whole walk. It had warmed her heart. Pink was just so cute! But it DID hurt her hair roots a bit, since Pink was quite afraid of movements, and therefor had kept a violent grab on her hair, as if she would fall off every single time Taneko had taken a step.
Right now Taneko and Song were standing in front of the greenhouse. Taneko waiting for Song to open the greenhouse. She really liked this place. It was nice, warm, and this sort of forest reminded her so much of a previous life. She took a deep breath, trying to smell as much of it as possible. She would really enjoy coming here...

Song unlocked the greenhouse door and led Taneko in through the back. They passed rows and rows of tiny potted plants, accompanied by the roar of the fans and the occasional spritz from a mister. Song stopped beside a plant and ran her fingers over a leaf or two before continuing. Eventually, the humid greenhouse rooms fell behind and the aisle they walked down became a hallway. Song picked a plain door in the wall, twisted her key, and opened it.
"Here we are!"
A warm light shone from the closed blinds behind her cherry desk. She crossed to the chair behind the desk and beckoned toward the two seats she was facing.

Taneko had been facinated by the greenhouse. Sure, she had been in greenhouses before, but never this... big and... stunning. She didn't have the words to describe it. But she did know one thing; she loved this place, and was extremely happy that this would be were Pink was staying. Walking among the rows of plants, trying to avoid the occasional spritz from the misters - with some succses - she had been deep in thought about what was going to happen.
Pink, still situated on her shoulder seemed so familiar with everything, and Taneko could swear that she had felt Pink move, like when you move when stearing a video-game, controlling Taneko's steps.
She had been slightly surprised when Song had opened a door to an office-looking room. This was not really what she had expected, but when thinking about it, she couldn't remember what she had actually expected. As Song beckoned her to sit in one of the chairs, she smiled at her, and sat down willingly. It had been a long walk, and she was tired. But she had no doubt that she hadn't been taken here to rest.

"Alright, we'll make this short. You are Pale Grasspink's new caretaker. This is going to involve a little more special care than a lot of the other parents, because she's a greenhouse plant, and orchids are notoriously difficult. However, you have an advantage: Pink should let you know if there is anything wrong with her plant."
Song opened a drawer of her desk, thumbed through the files, and pulled one out. She handed the file folder to Taneko: it was labeled "Pale Grasspink (Calopogon Pallidus)" A photo of pink's plant was paper clipped to the inside front. Opposite it, an information fact and care sheet laid out the plant's needs.
"This is for you, for as long as you are taking care of her. Feel free to add things, especially photos. We like to be able to see your progress. I have another copy of my own, so don't worry abut marking it up. Also..."
Behind her there was a bookshelf beside the window. She turned in her swiveling chair, floating with its movement, and pulled a small book from the shelf. It was pocket-sized, bound in leather, and completely blank. She handed it to Taneko.
"This is a journal for you. It goes with the file. You don't have to use it, of course, but just in case you find you have something to write down, here it is."
Song grinned at Taneko. She was sure this was all coming very fast. "Now, do you have any questions, or should I tell you about the adoption program?"

Taneko blinked a few times "uhm... right... yes.. of course". Pink giggled silently on her shoulder, brining Taneko back to her usual self. "Questions...? No, I can't think of any right now, and not to worry about the extra care taking! I should absolutely be able to do that, I have a knack for orchids!" smiling at Song she took the journal, placing it in her lap, and said "now, what was this with adoption program?" absentmindly fideling with the book in her lap, only noticing in the last second that Pink was about to fall off her shoulder as she tried to climb down to inspect the book herself, she helped the little sprite, and turned her attention back to Song.

Song nodded. "That's good, then you should be used to what they need. The adoption program is relatively simple. Basically, we let people come in and apply to be a 'parent' to a plant. The plant stays here, but they have to come in and visit it every so often, make sure it gets what it needs to grow, etcetera. We started it when we discovered the sprites...Pink is the second one we found. Phili...that's the one I found...was the first. So they're pretty special to us."

Taneko nodded, and looked down at Pink, who was currently busy trashing about in her lap, with some affection in her eyes "I can see why" she smiled at Song and continued "I'd love to be a part of the program, if that's what you're asking... I've always loved plants, and actually talking to one of them... the idea is just so... wow! And then it's even one of my favourite plants... an orchid!" she had a far-away look in her eyes, as she smiled at some unknown memory

Song smiled affectionately. "Good, I'm glad. Pink will need someone nice to take care of her, and I think you'll do a wonderful job." She paused, looking thoughtful.
"Alrighty, I've got some things to attend to. I'm sure Pink can show you where in the greenhouse her plant is."
Song stood and waited patiently for Taneko to preceed her out the door.

Taneko smiled at Song and nodded "You should get on with your work, I've already kept you for far too long" she stood up, placing Pink on her shoulder "I'm sure she can show me too... you can show me, right?" she asked the little sprite. Pink nodded enthusiastic and Taneko continued out the door after saying thank you to Song.

Taneko and Pink was alone in the greenhouse. Song had hurried out the door with a smile and it was now up to Taneko - and Pink - to find her plant. This place was just so... big! Taneko was amazed.
"So... you know where your plant is, right?" Taneko asked the sprite
"Of course I do!"
"Good... lead the way!"
After walking back and forth they had finally found a little plant with a sign saying "Pale Grasspink". After this trip, Taneko actually wasn't comnpletely sure if the sprite ACTUALLY knew where it's plant was.
"So... this is your plant, huh?" Taneko asked, trying to break the silence, while placing Pink beside her plant
"Obviously! Can't you read?!" the little sprite shot back
Taneko couldn't help but laugh at this a little. Her first impression of the sprite had been that she was pretty shy, but now she seemed comfortable enough to break out of her shell a bit. Taneko rather liked this change
"Yes... I can read... I was just... uhm... oh, never mind!" she sighted, maybe this was going to be a little bit harder than she had hoped... Trying to start a conversation once again, Taneko said
"So... we never actually got formally introduced. I'm Taneko Takahoshi, but you can call me Neko if you want to. Nice to meet you" she stuck out her hand to Pink
"uhm... I'm... uhm... hi... I'm... Pale Grasspink or... or... Calopogon pallidus or... you can call me Pink! That's what Kitten used to call me..." Pink said, putting her tiny hand on Neko's pinky. Neko certainly noticed Pink's nervousness, but chose to pretend that she didn't
"Well, it's nice to meet you... Pink" she gave a big smile, returned in a much smaller manner.
"So... Pink... It's a bit... un-original, isn't it?" she asked the sprite. She knew she had to be carefull with what she said, if she wanted to gain the sprite's trust. Pink scrunched up her nose for a while until she answered
"I suppose...?"
"Well then, let's find you a new name then!" Neko said with much enthusiasm. She had many options in her head, but when she mouthed them to Pink, Pink seemed unsatisfied.
"Fine, we won't use that either then... Oh, I know... how about... Ari?" Neko finally said. Expecting to once again see a scrunched up nose, and the disbelieving look Pink had given her each time she had suggested one of the other names, she was quite suprised to see the sprite actually think this one over.
"Ari... Ari... I like that name... Ari..." she said, and then her face broke into a huge smile. Taneko smiled back at her.
"Ari it is then! So tell me a bit about yourself... Ari" she said, hoping finally manage to pull Ari a bit out of her shell.

The bonding period had gone really well... well in Taneko's opinon anyway.
At the moment, she was sitting and filling in various information in the first few pages of the journal Song had given them, asking the occasional question to Ari, who by now, seemed pretty bored. She had been exited about filling in the journal in the begining, but they had been at it for almost 45 minutes now. And that was too long in Ari's opinion!
"I'm bored!" she said for the umpteenth time that day "Mhmm... hold on just a sec... I just need a few more things" Taneko answered absentmindedly "But I don't want to WAIT a few more 'seconds'!! You've been saying that for the last 30 minutes!" "Sure... Whats your favourit color?" "Pink, but that's besides the point! I..." she was cut of by Taneko "Pink... allllriiight.. almost there..." she said, while dotting down a few more things "ARG! You're insufferable... you... you... you..." Taneko looked up to see the little sprite look at her in slight confusion
"Exactely WHAT are you?" "heh, I'm an elf" She had been expecting this "And elf? Like... santa's helpers?" this made Taneko burst out laughing "Ha ha... no, Not like that... I used to live in the woods, you see!" Taneko tried to explain "Used to? You don't live there anymore?" Ari asked "No... well.. yes... I suppose I will always SOMEHOW have a home in the woods, but.. oh... it's hard to explain!" she sighted. She still had some unsolved issues in her past "Why?" "I... had a... a... row... with some important people where I used to live" Taneko answered, only bending the truth slightly. Trying to change the subject she continued "Now I live in a quite nice house with a VERY big garden. You would like it there! I hope I can bring you there one day. I have JUST the perfect spot for your plant!" she returned to writing in the journal
Sensing that this was as far as Taneko would go for today, Ari let the subject slip. For a few minutes they sat there in silence, the only sound was Taneko writing something in the journal now and then.
"I'm bored...!"
