Aranea stood on a shoreline, watching the tiny waves reach the shore, and dancing about in delight to keep the salty water from touching her paws. When the wave receded, she punched after it, only to repeat it again. She loved playing such games with nature and could do it for hours if she wanted. Though if she got too monotonous about it, her mind tended to wander, and that always led to questions. Like what pulled the ocean back in? And how did so much salt get in there? And why all of a sudden did Satish seem to LIKE HER like her?

Satish trotted along the shoreline lazily, Namiah sure did have a big beach...though, it was obvious, the place was an island. He sighed, his tail swishing lazily as he stopped for a minute, looking into the water and peering at his own golden eyes, before continuing with his trot. Soon enough, though, he spotted a familiar, mostly pink fluffy figure, and he smiled slightly, approaching her with a grin, which was strange on the male.

Aranea soon got caught by the water; that is, she didn't move fast enough, and one of her front paws squished into the soggy sand and became enveloped in seawater. Letting out a squeak, she jumped back and shook her paw, then set it down on the sand and giggled as sand clung to her paw. "Like cinnamon on a donut." She looked up suddenly and saw the brownish form making its way toward her. She squinted at it, trying to make it out, then her face lit up and she began to gallop towards it, her paws sinking into the sand and making it seem like she was running in slow motion. "BROWNIE!"

A chuckle flew out of him as he saw the funny way she was running, and he sighed, "Hello Pinky!" He said excitedly, after she yelled, and after she was close enough. His tail flicked, "How are you?"

Aranea skidded to a halt in front of Satish and grinned. "I'm good! Just playin' tag with the sea and making cinnamon donuts out of my paws. See?" She held up a sand-encrusted paw for emphasis. "Are you here to play too? Oh, that's right; you don't play a whole lot, huh?" XD

He flicked an ear, "Tag with the sea? How do you do that?" He muttered, looking at her paws. He looked down to his own and laughed, "Ha, they do look like donuts, don't they..." His tail swished and he thought to himself, "Play? No...not a whole lot," He said, fidgeting a little, "But, if you want me to...I guess I'll play."

Aranea smiled and bounced back like a puppy eager to be chased. "Well, see how the water goes in and out? I just chase it when it goes out, and run from it when it comes in. It probably doesn't know it's playing tag, but I do!" She bounded over to the now receding ocean and pawed at it playfully before dashing back to Satish's side when it started to return.

His tail swished as he watched her, an affectionate smile sitting on his face. He admired her energy and how playful and kind she was, it was something he'd never acheived, "I see." He said, "It looks fun!"

Aranea smiled and nudged Satish playfully with her head. "Well, why don't you try it? Or....." SHe cocked her head and pondered. "Maybe, you're not used to playing and have to ease into it? I've got a few namrah in our group that're like that. Some of 'em don't even play at all." She turned and danced as the ocean lapped on teh sand and withdrew with a hiss. She crinkled her forehead and looked at Satish. "Ever wonder why the ocean hisses when it goes back? I wonder if it's angry about something..."

He shrugged, "I could try..." He muttered, poking at the ocean a little. He watched it withdraw and he smiled, he loved the sound of the ocean. He looked at her, his head tilted slightly, "No...not angry. The ocean is a huge huge thing, so, when it moves back, it can't be silent about it, it's gotta make a noise. It's pretty hard to be silent when your something thousands of miles wide."

Aranea sobered up for an instant, then nodded. "I suppose so. The ocean IS a pretty big thing." She stared out at the fine line where the sky and the ocean met, letting the glint of the water reflect off her eyes.
"Can I ask you somethin' Brownie? Remember when we first met; you were such a sourpuss and I liked to bother you to try and get you to lighten up? For the longest time it seemed like you just let me hang around because I amused you, but then the other day you came in adn acted like I meant the world to you." She turned to him and beamed. "Did something REALLY good happen to you and put you in such a good mood?" ^^

Satish listened to her, starting at the water, before stumbling at all of her questions. His ears flopped back and he looked at her, "Well, if you don't feel the same way I won't act like it again..."

At Satish's lowering of the ears, Aranea grinned a little, at first. "Now there's the old sourp-" Suddenly she stopped and looked concerned. "Hold on; you're not teasin', are you; you........really are upset?" She looked at him worriedly, not even noticing that the sea had tagged her paws and was lapping around her feet.

A shiver was send up his spine as he felt the water hit his feet. He shook his head, smiling a fake smile, though his years of hiding his feelings away made it look real, or at least not half-assed. "No, I'm fine. I'm teasing."

Aranea brightened a bit, then a small shadow passed across her cheery face. "I suppose so.......'cause if you weren't teasing, and you really DID like me that much, since you can't just suddenly like somebody like that out of thin air, that would mean you've liked me.......all along....." Her eyes widened, then she looked at Satish with a puzzled expression. "But if you liked me all along, then why didn't you say somethin' to me? Oh wait, that's right; you're just teasing." She said the last sentence playfully, but her eyes were as serious as they had ever been.
