Teigra Altair: *aims a rather pointed grin and eyebrow waggle at Helki, the only other winged Helix in the area...and quite a beauty at that, in his opinion* SnowLeopardCub Helki: -tilts her head curiously at Altair- Teigra Altair: *finishes preening, then stands and folds his wings carefully over his back with a smile* "Greetings, my fair winged one." *strides confidently towards Helki* SnowLeopardCub Helki: -gives him a disapproving look- Are you aware of whom you are addressing? Teigra Altair: *unwavering* "Unfortunately, I don't believe I've had the pleasure before." *grinning, sweeps out a wing in a slight bow* "However, it seems that today proves to be my lucky day." SnowLeopardCub Helki: I would think if you lived in the East you would know that I am it's great leader, Helki the goddess divine. Teigra Altair: *covers his moment of awkwardness by pushing forward, still smiling* "I'm afraid I'm still rather new to the area, however, I had heard your name spoken before with such gravity. I had no idea how beautiful you were in person, though I am quite pleased with the discovery." SnowLeopardCub Olivia: -she suddenly came up by Helki and looked down- My lady, who is it who speaks to you?Helki: I would know he had given me his name sweet Olivia. -she responded in kind to the pale bird like helix next to her- Teigra Altair: *eyes light up momentarily at the appearance of the second lovely female and he had to struggle to keep his composure in light of this good fortune* "Forgive my distraction by such beauty in my sight." *bows low once more, wings spread* "My name is Altair, Alpha of the Vita Decor pack." *smiles winningly, conveniently avoiding the mention that there are no others yet in his pack, at least for the moment* SnowLeopardCub Helki: -she simply smiled at the alpha male now known as Altair- Olivia?Olivia: yes m'lady?Helki: Take note of this alpha and his pack please. We need to make sure we stay on top of things...Altair....its ever so lovely to meet you. This beta female is Olivia, my assistant. Teigra Altair: *pauses, noting with a bit of puzzlement this mention of an 'assistant'...why hadn't he thought of that?* "Goddess Helki. Olivia." *he nodded again, rising from his bow* "The pleasure is all mine for this meeting today." *grinning, he couldn't believe his luck in finding TWO unbelievable beauties in one day...now, if only there was a way to make them his...that could take some work* SnowLeopardCub Helki: Just call me Helki, goddess divine is another name entirely.Olivia: -she eyed the male realizing he was a peacock helix too. she smiled at him- Teigra Altair: *nods* "Of course, Helki." *smiles at Olivia pointedly, already turning over thoughts in his mind about how he might be able to claim these females for himself....or at least find an excuse to join their company more often to enjoy their beauty for himself* SnowLeopardCub Helki: -she seemed to be more watching the surroundings then Altair or Olivia, but she was pretty observant. Occasionally looking at them both discreetly-Olivia: -she tilted her head at Altair- So....you are new to the East? Teigra Altair: *smiles, moving quickly to grab this opportunity* "Yes, yes I am. Though this seems like a lovely area thus far." *aiming a discrete wink at the white female* "Perhaps, if you wouldn't mind, you could show me around a bit? So I can grow more familiar with...the area?" SnowLeopardCub Olivia: -she smiled at him and then looked at Helki-Helki: Go ahead Olivia. It would be best for him to know about this area.Olivia: Lovely!

Altair put on his most winning smile, adjusting his wings against his back as he stepped towards the beta female. "Wonderful! Shall we go then, beautiful lady?" Inside, Altair was practically leaping for joy. One step closer to claiming one of the lovelies for his own!
He wasn't a bad guy...he had no malicious intents. He simply sought out the most beautiful things in life, hoping to possess them as his own. Afterall, it was only fitting for one so handsome and perfect as he, was it not?

Olivia jumped down from the high place where Helki still sat and went over to Altair. She was quite leggy and her wings where smaller and delicate compared to Altair's. "Now, there are several temples throughout this territory. There's a number of them that are no longer used by humans, but there are a more that are used by humans. Though they respect us as their guardians, its best to keep our distance. Sometimes giving them a glimps of us at a distance is a big deal. In fact it lets them be more amazed especially by are wings and mystical attributes," Olivia said in a rather knowledgeable way.
Helki watched as Olivia took Altair up into the forest, babbling away about certain important aspects. Quietly she leap to the ground and took off near them to make sure nothing happened to them, especially Olivia.

Altair nodded slightly as they walked, noting this information, but pretending at the same time that it was greatly more fascinating that he actually found it. He was more concerned with keeping an eye on the white peacock at his side, as well as 'accidentally' letting his wing brush against hers from time to time.
The female sounded like an automated travel guide...but she was certainly easy on the eyes!
"Intriguing," he muttered at last, more likely referring to Olivia than her relayed information. He aimed a fangy grin at the female, tilting his head slightly. "And I don't suppose there's much benefit of letting the humans gaze upon us? Most of them, as least in my experience, haven't shown themselves much worth the honor anyway, he chuckled, letting a bit of his pride shine through.
Of course Helixes were superior in his mind to the odd two-leggers, but more so was he! And, of course, those he dubbed equal. Well, maybe not quite equal to him...but as close as they could possibly get.

Olivia merely smiled at him. "They are just mere beings living upon our land. But as they pay tribute to us out of respect and for some out of fear, it is our duty to give them a glimpse. It keeps their faith in us and helps keep them in line. Even more so when they see Helki. She makes lightning and once punished a village for their horrible acts against the forest."
Olivia looked ahead. They where approaching a well since abandoned temple. But it had been left since it being destroyed by human hands is disgraceful to the helix.

Altair hesitated for a moment, glancing over at Olivia. "Lightning? She commands the very lightning in the sky?" He had heard she was a goddess, yes, but this was...impressive to say the least. Beautiful AND dangerous. He'd have to be careful while trying to charm that one, that was for sure.
"I'm sure the foolish two-leggers deserved it anyway, for whatever they had done." He continued as if nothing had happened, confident stride easily keeping pace with Olivia's.
The nearing structure caused him to pause once more, however, this time frowning. "What is this? This place carries with it...a foul odor. Like one...of decay and despair." It wasn't often that Altair was serious, but this place bothered him on some level. It wasn't the sort of place he would have ever sought out on his own and he could tell, there was little to interest him here.

Olivia gave him a side glance. "Yes? They say her parents are the elementals themselves and that her siblings are the life cycle. She's been here for as long as humans and helixes a like can remember."
Olivia didn't respond to Altair's comment but instead focused on the small building in front of them. "It was an old temple. There use to be a village here but for some reason it's not here anymore and the temple fell into ruin."
Olivia looked at him. "We don't do anything about the temples. Some don't smell bad either. The humans use places like this to leave helixes in the area an offering. Usually there's a human in the village who's the only one to have see the helix that patrols those areas. And with that knowledge, the human creates some sort of artwork depicting what they saw and that's what they use to direct prayers and such to. Then we get whatever food or items they give us."
"High in the mountains is where Helki dwells. And there is a village up there with the largest temple. A lot of people will travel there just to get an idea of what she looks like from the statue there. She gets a lot of gifts. So she doesn't bother the villages that leave her things....."

Altair listened with genuine interest, logging all of this information away for later pondering. "I see. Well, I've never been one to refuse a gift...or praise," he commented with a wink at Olivia. "Sounds like a good deal in general and I'm sure Helki gets a nice share. As she should, of course."
He looked over the temple as he talked, sharp eyes taking in every detail. Maybe he could get himself one of these temples. A nice one. Not this one. A clean, ornately decorated one that was clearly worthy of representing the proud peacock.
He turned and gave Olivia a sideways glance. "What about you? Do you ever receive tribute from the two-leggers?"

Olivia watched him quietly with her pale eyes. "Me?" she blinked a moment and then looked back at the old temple. She turned and walked away from it.
"No....I don't really receive anything. I rather keep myself out of sight to be honest. I've seen humans..they don't see me and I make sure Helki is safe as well. I guess I'm more behind the scenes and even she isn't see really."

Altair turned and followed, keeping pace with the albino female. "You don't?" He sounded surprised, though whether he really was or not was another question. "What a shame. Such a beauty as yourself deserves your own praise." He smiled winningly at her with a chuckle.
"Of course, we can't have you feeling uncomfortable, so if that bothers you, perhaps someone else could provide praise?" He winked, his wing brushing against hers once more.

She gave him a rather light smile. "Mostly the alpha helixes receive the gifts and such. It is there duty to watch over all in their territory. For Helki...she gets such from the whole Eastern area....I'm just a beta....but I don't mind."
They came upon a small clear pond and Olivia sat down. They had been going up a steady incline and she needed a rest. "Why would I need praise? I find joy in serving Helki..."
At that moment Helki appeared across the pond from them perching on a small bolder.

Okay, this...was a completely foreign concept to Altair. She didn't...want praise? Why not? How could she not want the attention and glory?
The peacock was utterly bewildered and struggling to hide it as he joined Olivia by the waterside.
"I'm...not sure I understand your position, exactly, I'm sorry to say," Altair finally admitted, flopping down on his haunches beside her. "I've always been rather fond of being in the spotlight, myself," he said with a soft chuckle.
He noticed a flash of movement across the water and looked up, offering a slow nod of respect upon seeing Helki. He'd had a feeling that someone had been watching them, even if I couldn't pinpoint them. Good to know he wasn't losing his touch.

Helki showed slight indifference to Altair, but it was clear she was merely keeping an eye on her "pack" despite the fact it was just two of them.
Olivia didn't answer him quickly. She merely looked over at Helki across the pond as well with a rather laid back expression. Then looked at Altair.
"It's usually only the alphas that are to collect the praise and gifts. I'm not an alpha. And I'm not much for it.....I guess....." she tilted her head towards Helki.
"Being the leader of such a vast place, she doesn't have much of a choice, but she prefers to remain a mystery most of the time. The only human to have laid eyes on her, took those memories to the grave......"

Still trying to get a handle on this foreign concept, Altair nodded, frowning thoughtfully as he spoke half to himself, "I suppose that's more of an Alpha characteristic then...at least for most. However, even Alphas need their unseen support, even if they end up taking the credit."
He was quiet for a moment, listening to Olivia and pondering this new information about Helki before speaking again. "Personally, I've had little to do with two-leggers myself, even in my travels. Never had much to do with them at all if I could help it. They were certainly not what I was journeying to find. However, I've never received gifts either. That might mean they're worth something after all...but until now, I'd preferred not to allow them to catch sight of me." Of course, this was mostly because he hadn't felt the two-leggers worthy of such a sight...but that was beside the point.

"I'd say it's solely on the preferences of the alpha. But I guess being as high ranked as she...one must of been very blessed..." Olivia glanced over to where Helki had perched only to find she had vanished again. "Well, that's a goddess for you, the come and go like the wind." She stretched out her wings and legs and stood. "So...what area is your territory in? Tell me about yourself...I feel as if I've done most if not all the talking."
