Crescenthallow was in a good mood today as she trekked on a new adventure through the marshes. As she padded along she would shift her paws through the dirt and create a beat or rhythm, like when a two-leg would hum or whistle. Yes, she's had plenty of practice at this, most of her life time worth of practice. Though, despite her spirits being high and her eyes twinkling, her tail gave her away. It was rigid and from time to time gave a nervous twitch. She was nearing where the accident had happened. But CrescentHallow had put it behind her long ago, for she was not going to allow it to get the best of her. After all, when she had neared apprentice age she had remembered just about everything, so it was okay, right? Who needed a voice? She had her "happy paws". That, her family, and her clan. What more could a simple cat like her want?

The tap of the light paws was audible to a fellow feline some feet away. It was coiled in isolation beneath a collection of brush that consisted of fallen leaves, actual shrubbery, marshy grasses, twigs and various other little things. It wasn't a home, quite the contrary, but it served as a neatly hidden resting place for the otherwise noticeable cat whose starting white pelt made camouflage difficult in the warm months. The only attribute of him that matched his scenery was his emerald eyes and the delicate feather markings painted onto his fur.
His ears twitched at the sound of the paws, kindling a curiosity in him that fired him up, forcing him onto his paws silently. Ever ready for a prospective attack, his body was ready to spring, but still composed enough to appear almost aloof. Putting his pink nose to the air, Harbingersight lightly tested the scent of the feline as he moved forward quietly, slinking forward.
Like a guard he approached, looking upon the she-cat with easy eyes as he came into view, taking note of her tapping once more. "What is your name?" he murmured, expecting a quick answer. His youth made him impatient while his ambition fueled his urgency.

Crescenthallow blinked in surprise as a cat came almost out of nowhere. She squinted her purple eyes, hasn't she seen him around before...? Gah, there were too many cats in the clan to keep track of, she sure wondered how the leaders did it... Twitching an ear as he asked for her name she thought quickly before responding automatically. With one of her hind paws she delicately shifted the surface of a ground in a certain way with long strokes, the grains almost making a whisper, or more like a murmur, of a general sounding of her name. Ah, well, it worked better in the grass but he probably got the gist of it.
Once finished she looked back up, expecting for him to introduce himself back. He's as white as snow... kinda make me want to... cuddle him! Wheee~!!! Crescenthallow sure missed the snow. Ohohoh! Maybe he wasn't even a cat at all!!! Perhaps he was a-a- a snow angel! Yus! A snow angel! As her imagination got the best of her her black tail had calmed down quite a bit, flicking to and fro happily. Perhaps she wasn't so nervous now knowing there was another cat around that could back her up if danger was ever at sight...

The lean male watched her silently, waiting for a response from the seemingly friendly she-cat, who emitted a somewhat joyous atmosphere. The only answer Harbinger got was a few taps and scraps against the ground with a delicate paw, not nearly efficient enough for him to be able to tell what she was saying. At least he managed to understand she was mute, and gathered a basic rhythm to her name that he was certain he would discover later on. In fact he made point to find it out one way or another.
Blinking he gave a nod. "I understand," he answered. What point was there going into a conversation with someone who couldn't answer him back? Flicking his ears, he glanced away. They swiveled back to the interesting featured female almost instantly, though, and there he focused his attention silently. The female was blessed with a beautiful coat of swirling silvers accented by a light blue moon shape accompanied with a star. Her purple eyes were also interesting.
It was a second later that he said something more. "That's unfortunate...Harbingersight, that's my name," he told her. He wondered what she was doing here or why all alone? Of course she was an adult, he didn't doubt that she had been trained properly enough to take care of herself. Still, there were many dangers out here in the swamps.

Eh, he'd find out eventually. It wasn't like Shadowclan was barren of its own warriors. Glad he caught on quickly she nodded. Yep, that was Crescenthallow for you, Silenthallow. She listened carefully to what he said next. Since she didn't have much of a choice, she was always a listener, but she made it sorta like a game. Once she recognized his voice well enough, she liked to identify it to another sound in nature, so she'd remember it. It was hard though to pick a natural sound that matched his voice though, but she guessed that must mean he was just a very interesting cat that couldn't be classified so easily.
She shrugged in response, it was quite unfortunate, but we all live and learn. Besides, it was kinda fun, like playing charades~! Smiling when hearing his name she started to flick her ears in the general direction she was going with her head tilted slightly, asking if he'd like to patrol with her. Okay, perhaps she wasn't really patrolling but no one had to know that.

The shrug almost surprised him. It was obvious this feline had been mute for some time and thus was able to accommodate for her loss, and it also was apparent how young she was, not just physically, but mentally too. Her acceptance was a display of her youthful hopefulness. At least she wasn't the gloomy type who would brood over this sort of misfortune not seeking any way to better themselves after such a loss. For this he was grateful.
Noting her behavior, Harbingersight observed her motions, understanding almost instantly. She wanted him to follow, perhaps patrol and to this he had no reason to object. He previously wasn't doing anything productive and it was against his philosophy to be stagnant for too long. Giving a short nod he agreed.
"Alright," he murmured before slinking forward, shifting as he padded in the direction she pointed out.

Crescenthallow beamed before padding along side him. Yeah, she was pretty sure she knew this cat... Hadn't her brothers spoken with him once or twice? Either way, she had a new friend, whee~! Not able to contain or hide her excitement, as she hasn't really hung out with a cat for a long time, she began to skip. Though... he was quite the quiet one, wasn't he~? So I was right! He seems to be of the mysterious complicated type~! Well, even if she was wrong she liked to believe she was right.
Every once in a while she sniffed the air. Not only because they were patrolling, but also because a little paranoia lurked inside of her as always. Though, of course she tried not to show her constant fear, cause she was a happy cat and happy cats wern't suppose to be afraid all the time, especially not to cause friends and family worry or bad impressions for new cats.

The snow white cat padded slowly, watching the female through the periphery of his eyes, noting her ecstatic behavior. Of course he didn't understand; was she excited that he had agreed to come along? Her skipping was amusing to say the least. Her long body moved fluidly, hardly making a sound in contrast to the tapping of her paws earlier when she had tried to communicate to Harbingersight. Still, his full attention seemed to be occupied with their surroundings, never hinting that he had been observing the female.
His hackles rose every so often when Crescenthallow would pause. There was something about her that seemed off, as though she was thinking about something, but what it was, the young white feline didn't understand. Of course she masked her anxiety, but the small traces left behind were readable. Harbingersidht didn't mind this...whether or not this was a weakness of hers, he was certain there was some sort of reasonable explanation, after all, he wouldn't have mercy for someone who was a coward at heart, and he felt that this female was no such coward.

Crescenthallow had been too happy-go-lucky to realize where they were even going. It wasn't that she didn't know the territory, as she was out of camp all the time, it's just that she was always too joyous to really pay attention. Tapping him once with the tip of her tail she tilted her head to the side a bit questioningly, though hoping she didn't seem too stupid. Usually she didn't care what others thought but... this time it was different. He had earned her utmost respect, though it's only been a few minutes. Probably because he seemed wise.
Wise cats... am I wise? Some cats were very fooling with their personalities, was she that kinda. Hmmmm... She was almost an open book, though, after a moment of thinking about it she gave up.

Feeling her gentle tap and looking to her quizzical expression he understood her sudden inquiry, or at least he believed he did. She may have been an open book, but it was one that was a little difficult to understand initially, but altogether graceful and a lovely read. "If you could, I imagine you'd be rather talkative," he commented suddenly, the statement cryptic. It, however, was not meant to be rude. "You're good company."
For a moment the cat paused, observing their current surroundings by sampling the air while his pure white ears swiveled about listening to the area. The fluttering of birds wings atop the tree canopy was almost always present except when the traveled directly beneath. Then the swift flap of distress was bugled in the air. Looking back to Crescenthollow, Harbingersight nudged forward, padding slowly ahead.

Crescenthallow blinked, then nodded. If she could recall she was quite the noisy kit.~ She grinned at the complement, most thought she was clingy company. Watching him observe their surroundings she couldn't help but think about her days as an apprentice, learning how to patrol. Would she ever have an apprentice...? Er, maybe a deaf one...
Nodding when he started forward again she followed beside him, a bit more alert now. Her paw steps light and dainty Crescenthallow kept her ears perked... mostly just for the suspense of the adventure.~
