Orpheus looked over the tree in front of himself, at the rainbow of various ribbons and then gave a smile, "Alright, everything is set." He was doing another climbing class like the one he had set up for Lian. This time it was for Canti, a refresher course on climbing. They had worked together in a class before but Orpheus wanted to make sure that the boy got the skill down so he asked him to come in again, just to make sure.

He picked up his clipboard, took a couple notes down real quick and then smiled. All there was to do now was wait for his student to arrive.

Lucas wasn't nearly so worried when he brought Canti back into the lab this time. As far as he knew, Canti had done alright the last time they were here to be taught one of his skills. So he simply stood at the door and let the boy go when they reached the site they had been directed to.

The ant child bounded over to Orpheus, perhaps a little nervous but also eager to begin. Personally he wasn't very sure of his last performance, and the surreality of being to crawl right up a tree had stunned him a bit. But this time he was ready! He hoped. "Hello Mr. Orpheus..." He greeted the teacher, perhaps a bit shyly.

Orpheus looked up as the ant boy reappeared and gave him a smile, "Welcome back Canti." He said, happy to see the ant child back in the his classroom.

"How are you doing today?" He asked as he tucked his clipboard under his arm and tucked his pen behind his ear.

"Okay," He replied, but had to smile just because Orpheus was. His antennae twitched, unconsciously displaying his restlessness by the way they seemed to twiddle one another. "And you?"

"Doing pretty well myself." He said as he turned to look at the tree with the many, colored ribbons in it, "You don't need to be worried or anything, today is just a refresher course on the climbing."

He pointed to the ribbons, "The task is points collecting, each color is worth a different amount of points and you need a total of ten." He told him. The more the ribbons were worth, the higher up they were thus taking more skill to get to, "Are you ready?"

"Good," The ant seemed to sigh silently, allowing his smile to become a little wider. He moved his head to look at the ribbons, slithers of color tied to the trunk. He wondered how Orpheus had gone about tying them to it and got the image of the redhead trying to dangle from the trunk. Did he have sticky hands too? "Ready!"

He would wait for the signal to go from Orpheus, not knowing if he was being timed or not. Then he began his task, the nervousness melting right out of him as he laid hands on the tree and began to pull himself up. He barely had to grip the bark, but he did so anyway. He had a job to do, so the height he would be gaining soon would mean nothing to him.

Laying hands on one of the first ribbons with his forehands, gripping the trunk with his second set of arms, he tossed the prize to the ground. He was unsure if he was supposed to be collecting them in his shirt, but he was sure he'd find out soon.

Orpheus nodded, "Go right ahead." He said, motioning for Canti to start when he was ready. It was an amazing thing to behold, watching the boy scale the tree with such ease. He gave a smile as he captured his first ribbon, it was one of the red ones which were in the lowest branches and only worth a point a piece.

"Good job on getting your first ribbon." He called to the ant boy as he walked over, picking it up off the ground so he could keep track.

He didn't understand the forces that held him to the tree, and questioning them before had been his main mistake. Perhaps Orpheus would give him some insight when he finished with the task. But each hold seemed to dig him sharp into the bark, even with the merest touch. The next ribbon stuck to his hand a moment, before he gingerly pried it off with his teeth and sent it to the ground below.

Orpheus' encouragement enthused him, certainly, and the ant smiled to himself lightly even though he knew he was not nearly done. Up to the lower branches, Canti shimmied out to one of the ribbons, thighs gripping the underside of the branch though he speculated he could hang if he really wanted to. Maybe later.

Orpheus caught the next ribbon, taking note of the color and the point value. So far he had two of the eight points that he needed but the branch he was on had one ribbon that was worth two points by itself and he was crawling out toward it. The teacher was pretty impressed by Canti's climbing skill, he didn't hide it either in the way that he cheered the boy on and clapped.

If an ant could blush... After snatching the ribbon tied to the end of the branch, he dropped it down to the teacher below and swung himself on top of the branch itself. The next branch was a pretty good jump up, but he managed it with his upper arms. Like on the trunk, he stuck, and his lower set of arms joined in, allowing him to swing his legs up and over too.

Another ribbon dropped down- he wasn't really paying attention to what colors he got, just trying to pick up the ones he came across. He walked along his branch precariously toward the trunk, planning to circle around back to see if there were any ribbons there.

Orpheus looked over the ribbons he had so far and called up to Canti, "That's three points so far, the higher up branches have colors that are worth more points." In case the ant was feeling brave enough to head up higher into the tree.

If not there were plenty of the one point ribbons toward the bottom, it might take longer but it was left open as a possibility.
