Kuyoja strode along the beach his hands behind his back as he listened to the waves. The smell of the salt air was soothing as well the ruffle of hair in his hair. Taking a deep breath he paused as he looked behind himself to see how Saedah was making out.
The girl at first had been overwhelmed at the sheer size of the ocean as well the strange noises and animals living in and around the ocean shoreline. But now she was slithering along behind slowly trying to take in everything around her.
Saedah looked around curious and yet intimidated by everything. The ocean...she giggeled softly when she had slithered off towards the edge where the water met the shore. When papa didn't chaste her for letting the water touch her scales she gave another giggle letting the wave tickle her again.
Kuyoja was still watching her a soft smile on his face. Perhaps this had been a good idea after all.

Henri loved to see newcomers on his beach (although it wasn't really his beach, so to speak), and so approached this new man with a smile on his face. He gave a wave and sat down nearby, obviously open for chat, but leaving the man the option of actually speaking to him or not.
Isabella, however, seemed to have not a care when it came to new people. She just rushed to the water's edge, grinning, and waved to the new girl.
"Hi! I Idda-bewwa!"

Kuyoja greeted the man with a curt nod of his head. He wasn' exactly the socialble type in fact his attention was soon focused on Saedah and the little girl that had come at a rush to the waters edge. He watched curious to Saedah's reaction. He was far away and there wasn't really anywhere for the snake girl to hide.
Saedah's moment of peace was broken by a loud voice, she turned her eyes fearfully looking at the girl who was waving at her. Like a deer caught in the headlights she was frozen in fear. There...was no where to hide. She was out in the open. Even papa was too far away to reach safely...she would have to bolt past the new girl, and so instead she merly shrank down on her coils trying to make herself as small as possible and stared at her trembling.

Henri decided that it was his turn to make the first move.
"She yours?"
Isabella's eyes went wide, and she slowly sank down to her knees.
"I sowwy. Aa'yoo okay?" She didn't mean to scare anyone! She hadn't ever met anybody who'd been afraid of her!

The little girls hands were shaking her bottom lip trembling as she was addressed. There was no reason to be afriad....no reason to be afraid...she kept trying to tell herself over and over but she couldn't help it. The girl had starteled her out of her quiet zone and now she wasn't sure what to do!
Watching as she sank down to her knees she gave a small gulp. She didn't seem so scary now, now that she was smaller anyway. When asked a question she shook her head then nodded it. She was better...but not okay just yet. Sniffling she twined her fingers around the hem of her shirt nervously.
Kuyoja watched and was worried and a bit relieved to see that Saedah didn't instantly bolt from the girl as he had expected. Maybe the fear of trying to get around her was too much. . .
Glancing behind himself to look at the man who had addressed him he nodded his head.
"Yes, timid thing she is." He replied.

Izzy slowly put out her hand, offering it for the girl to take if she so wanted. She decided to speak softly now, like Daddy did for her when she was scared.
"I live up on d'hill in d'li'house." Kind of a lie, but she wasn't sure what to call her real house, "I'm Idda-bewwa. Whassyoor name?"

Saedah looked at the offered hand like it was something posionous....thena rather loud crashing wave hit a rock close by and she like lightning she latched onto Izzy. For Izzy at the moment had been less scary than the loud sound.
Trembling she sniffeled, she didn't like the beach anymore. There was too many new thigns! Everything was scary here! of course that was what she had thought when they had gone to the mall for clothes ...and to Orpheus's apartment.... she thought everything was scary.
Holding onto the other girl she sniffeled again. "Sweadah.." She murmured in response...having jsut registered that the girl had given her, her name.

Izzy smiled and stood slowly, beginning to walk backward. Clearly, the rocks were not the safest place for a little girl who was apparently afraid of everything. Maybe they could go sit in her Driftwood Fort daddy had helped her build. Yeah, that was nice and safe, and never loud!

Looking up she wondered where Izzy was going, they were moving backwards....sniffeling again as she realized that by clinging to the girl this made it more awkward to move she instead clutched onto the girls hand with both her own small fingers as she slithered with her. Having no idea where they were headed she was just happy to be moving away from the loud waves.

Further back in the sand, past high tide's line of shells and stones, were 4 stacked walls made of driftwood. Two were crossed to create a tepee-like entrance, and a few crossed the top in case of rain. It was certainly big enough for two toddlers, and perhaps an adult or two also.
It was a nice way to keep the beach clean!
"Is ma' fort," Izzy smiled, ducking down and leading Saedah in.
"Daddy help'd make it."

Her eyes widened as they came upon the fort. She clung a bit to Izzy's side as they approached . But seeing that the girl was't afriad she swallowed and tried ot build her courage up. Looking around she thought it looked kinda dangerous....but...
"Fowrt?" She inquried not quite sure what that was. "Wike home?" She inquired wondering if this was the place Izzy had mentioned before a home on a hill...this was..kinda a hill. She looked kinda sad. Izzy lived in a place like this??? Wouldn't she get cold at night?

Izzy shook her head, plopping down in the sand within the fort.
"Nuh-uh," she said, holding her arms out, "Pway in he'w."
Inside, the fort looked much safer. The logs seemed to be held together with twine and cement.

Saedah reluctantly followed Izzy into the fort she looked around fearfully though noticed it seemed very secure inside. Watching as Izzy plopped herself down onto the sand she followed in suit...even if she just ended up sitting on her coils instead.
"Pway?" She inquired feeling not nearly as nervous as she had started out. Sure...she..wasn't sure where her papa was...sure it looked like this place could crash down on her any moment....sure she was with a girl she had only just met... thinking on it she felt her fear trying to creep back up on her.
Shaking her head she instead grabbed a fistful of sand and let it trickle out of her fingers.
"What pway?" she inquired after the last grain left her little hand.

"Ummmm..." Izzy thought. She was used to being allowed to play alone, and she knew that Daddy was always watching.
"I danno. Pway sandcast'w? Kin gedda ball." Again, the magical disappearing accent.

Saedah looked at the girl curiously trying to figure out what she had mention to play. Shifting she looked back down at the little pile of sand she had created.
"Kin gwedda ball?" She asked not sure what kind of game that was suppose to be. But it sounded interesting.
