After having met the younger male a little while back, Ka had taken to wandering again. He'd gotten fairly close to the lands of the demon pride, though he hadn't been stupid enough to actually go into the lands. He knew that alone, he wouldn't stand much of a chance.

But now... there were rumors floating around about a pride forming up specifically to hunt down and eradicate the demons. Ka fully supported that idea, so now... he was looking to find that pride, or someone who knew about it.

Not that he was having any luck, so far. Sighing softly, he topped a rise and stood there for a moment with tail-tip flicking, gazing out over the plains before him. He wondered if he would ever find another friend as true as Farlest had been.

Xinavane had yet to hear of the demon pride, or those who hunted it... her quest was more broad. To find others who hated the wicked as much as she did... or to find the cruel lions who had hurt her family and stop them.

That hadn't been going well so far, for though she had found both on occasion, on the whole, she wouldn't have called her 'grand mission' much of a success.

No... not really. She was honestly pretty much wandering around hoping to come across something... and she had a feeling the day would be soon. Just a feeling. She hoped it was true.

Still standing on that rise, Ka'hmesh looked down after a minute or two, blinking as he spotted a younger, darkly colored lioness below. Frowning slightly, he noticed that she was straying near the border of the demon-lands.

So, bounding down off that rise, he padded over toward her - intending to warn her. Unless she was some sort of scout for the pride. Then things would likely be different. But he would give her the benefit of the doubt and assume she simply didn't know of the danger.

Xinavane saw the other lion coming towards her about the same time that he saw her. She had been trained by her father, and liked to think she wasn't completely clueless...

He didn't seem to be intent on hurting her, so she made no move to run for it. Instead she nodded towards him, smiling -though still cautious of course, "Hello there."

Friendly, but alert. One could never be too careful... even if she had known she was close to demon lands. Which she did not.

Aah... well, that was a relief. She seemed friendly enough, for the moment. Then again, would a scout try to talk first, or simply attack? Ka decided he'd better be careful too, just in case.

So when he nodded to her greeting, it was reserved - and he watched her warily. "Hello," he replied. "What are you doing out here?" he asked then, carefully.

Still alert, but Xinavane certainly wasn't about to put this lion in the 'red' for dangerous just yet. He seemed friendly enough... and he hadn't called her any pet names yet. That made her respect him more.

"I'm... looking for something." She didn't lie, she saw no need to, but she didn't tell the whole truth either. "What about you?"

Ka eyed her at that, head tilting just a little bit. "The same... though it would be quite a coincidence if we happen to be searching for the same thing." Somehow, though, he got the feeling that he could trust this lioness - at least so far as to tell her what his intentions had been.

"Just over there," he went on, nodding toward the demon pride lands. "There is a pride full of lions who are convinced that they are demons. I came down here originally ... to warn you away from them. If you were not one of them."

Xinavane blinked in suprise and then she hissed, "Demons? Demons here?" Fury would quite explain how she felt at that particular moment in time. Who would be that stupid? To invite chaos and act evilly just so they could claim to be demons!?

Just like the pride she had come from originally... being evil just for the sake of being evil. How could she not hate the very idea of that? "Thank you for telling me... but now that I know where they are, I won't be just leaving them there." Not a chance in hell. Anyone who acted as a demon had forfitted their lives, as far as she was concerned.

Harming innocent creatures was something she detested.

Ka blinked slightly at that - noting the anger in her expression right off the bat. He knew, somehow, that it wasn't directed at him, though, so he held his ground.

He blinked at her second statement, though, glancing toward where the pride lands began. "What do you mean...?" he asked slowly.

"No creature has the right to harm another, except for food." Xinavane told him, managing to pull her anger into check, replacing it with her more calm self.

"If a lion, or other creature wandered into demon lands... they could be killed or enslaved. I can't let that happen."

Somehow, Ka seemed a bit relieved at that... so she was just talking about warning others away from the borders. Which was more or less what he had been doing himself.

"Ah... I apologize. For a moment, I thought you meant to storm in there alone and try to kill them off. That .... could be a bad idea. The pride is fairly large, from what I've seen." He frowned. "There are a lot of young ones, but even they are fierce."
PostPosted: Mon Oct 13, 2008 8:17 pm

Xinavane sighed, glancing over her shoulder towards the demon pridelands, "Perhaps I was thinking about storming it on my own..." Though of course, she wouldn't. But that didn't stop her from thinking it.

"Bringing children into such matters..." Something she was used to. Evil creatures... they had no shame, "Isn't there anyone trying to stop them?" There had to be... somewhere.

"I think that the little ones were born there," he said quietly, tail tip flicking in distaste. "And they are likely taught from the start to be ... like the rest." It made him faintly sick, and he shoved thoughts of what probably went on there away, focusing on the lioness's other question.

Ah ... but there, he could, perhaps, help. "I don't know for sure... but ... I have heard rumors of a group, a pride, forming. Their intent is supposedly to hunt down the demons and kill them all."
PostPosted: Sun Oct 19, 2008 11:59 am

Xinavane shook her head, her own mind wandering at that, "How cruel... to make children like that. Not even giving them a choice." What choice had she had but to flee when she was a cub with her parents? If they hadn't run... she probably wouldn't have been much better than the demons themselves.

"Really?" Now her interest was peaked, "Someone's standing up against them?" Only a rumor... not much to go on. But if there was a chance... even if it was only a small one, she had to take it. The demons had to be stopped. Even if it meant killing them all.

Ka shrugged one shoulder slightly. "So I've heard... I've been looking for them, sort of. I ... would like to join it, if there is such a group."

He glanced back in the direction of the demon lands and his ears flattened a bit. "There aren't that many of them now. Adults, I mean. If there is a group forming to take them on .... now would be a good time to ... thin their ranks."

Not that he meant to kill the children, no... the young ones could be taught differently, away from the bad influence of the parents.
