This is my little section to review, comment, and just plain bash the hell out of movies coming out/or have been out.
Topic #1: Tim Burton's Corpse Bride I personally loved this movie. I think I liked it more than Nightmare Before Christmas. I thought the music was a little off key, and just didn't make the movie flow very well, but overall the movie was very well done.
There are several other movies I wanted to see this fall: The Brother's Grimm, Serenity, Exorcism of Emily Rose, Wedding Crashers, Flightplan, The Waiting, and Lord of War (not to be mistaken with the game God of War...which would be really cool, but bloody as hell!) xp
Discuss: Favorite movies Upcoming movies
Movie prices (which is why I don't go to the movies as often) crying

Actually, I think it's just titled "Waiting" and not "The Waiting".
Also, I believe I saw somewhere that a movie deal was in the works for "God of War" (yes, based on the game).

I'm going to see The Corpse Bride tonight with mah buddy Libby and my mom tonight. 3nodding And Libby and I are hoping to go and see The Brothers Grimm... I dunno if/where it's playing on the island, though. It's usually like.. five or six bucks to get into a movie here. In Japan it's more like $15! Unless it's opening night, ladies night, or you are a student (and have your I.D. to show them)... then it's like $10.

Not sure on matinee showing prices (will know for certain tomorrow when we go see Serenity), but "peak" showtime rates here are around $8 now. stare

After 6PM, I think it is, prices at Brendan are $9.
Just saw "Just Like Heaven" which wasn't that bad. A lot of the girls I went with cried in some scenes and it was your average chick-flick (with a twist, obviously). Plot was kind of predictable and starts off slow, but you can feel the tension growing in some parts and get really hooked. If you like mushy movies (or just want to go for Napoleon Dynamite), then here's one for you.
And Juno: You mean "Lord of War"? The name sounds pretty cool, atleast. 3nodding

celestialdreamer Psiko FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, DON'T GO SEE BROTHERS GRIMM!!! Watching that movie dropped my IQ by ten points. But the previews looked pretty neat...why is it so bad??!?! eek Lack of storyline, the characters were shallow, the acting wasn't exactly top-notch and the graphics looked like the entire movie was made in Microsoft Excell.

Was it another Van Helsing? Man, that movie sucked.
The Corpse Bride was really cute... the singing didn't throw me, but I think that's because I'm really used to it after all of those Disney movies I've seen fifty-million times.
I'm afraid. They have a second Underworld coming out. confused

I personally like Underworld. confused yeah, I know...I should be scorned, but I thought the thought behind the movie and the storyline was pretty good. Helsing was decent I thought too.... sweatdrop
MMJuno and I just saw Serenity! LOVED IT! heart domokun heart
We have the TV series we've already watched, and this was just icing on the cake. I may have dogged it once, but I really enjoyed the movie!

I think it was the vampire transformations that made me dislike the movie. Overkill. Same with Underworld. The werewolves were really bad. And Underworld.. I dunno.. seemed rushed. The vampire and werewolf cross thing seemed kinda dumb, too. sweatdrop

Phantom-Q And Juno: You mean "Lord of War"? The name sounds pretty cool, atleast. 3nodding No, Lord of War is a totally different movie. I'm specifically speaking of a movie based off of the God of War PS2 game. I'm pretty sure I recall reading something a month or two ago that there was some initial work being done on a possible movie deal for it... I'll see if I can locate it again.

OK, from what little I've dug up so far on the God of War movie, the rumor mill states the following:
1) Production is to start either this year or next. 2) Geared for a 2007 release. 3) Being handled by the producer of Batman Begins.

But here's the thing- Pirates of the Carribean 2...and according to IMDB, there will be a three. THREE. What the hell piratey goodness can be running for three movies, I ask you? Is the third one going to be Capn' Jack goes to Tiajuana?
And the next Harry Potter? SO COOL.
