Siti made her way though the jungle. She was a bit lost and she decide maybe she should back track. She was certain she had not she had followed the direction given to her very well. She should not have made it to the jungle yet, of that she was certain.
She walked along ears up and fully alert in case she ran into someone unfriendly. Siti stepped lightly and continued on trying to make her way out of the jungle the way she had come. She figured it best to stay on the ground for now, but it was making her a bit nervous. She thought to what Iniko had said about running through the tree branches, but now was not the time.
It walked past yet another tree, but it looked rather familiar. "I know I walked past this tree before."
Siti looked around and sure enough she found her tracks in the ground. Giving up Siti sighed and headed up the tree to see if she could see the way she came into this forest. Being lost was not fun, but Siti had been lost quite a bit in her travels.

It had been a good time since the cubs, all seven of them, had been born, long enough for her eldest pair to cause trouble and the others to develop their own personality quirks. It seemed that most of them had a stronger attachment to their father, which under the circumstances wasn't a difficult thing to understand why. The birth had been difficult and as a result, she had been left very weak. Even in the time since, Chikalawingu had only now been able to climb again, and at this point she was only just strong enough to climb up to the very lowest branch of the tree she was in.
Her red eyes, once sparkling and bright, had dulled since then and would only regain their glow once she was fully recovered. Which only a seer would be able to tell. "Jivu, please come down to here. I would like to keep an eye on you," she whispered softly, unaware of the lioness heading towards mother and daughter. Dark green eyes peered out of dark green leaves before the dark cub slithered, much like the snake upon her paw, down the branches to perch on a branch near her mother's. "I sssssaw something, Mother," she hissed softly, grinning. Her father was nowhere in sight, so she could act a little more... kind. She understood something was wrong with her mother, knew there had to be a reason she was such a weak creature, but she wasn't sure why. But the least she could do was try and keep from stressing her mother out.
That still didn't change the fact that little Jivutatia had seen moving brown and white through the green of the jungle.

Siti pulled herself up onto one of the lower branches and looked around, but it was still hard to see. She decided she would have to go up higher to be able to see a pathway out of the jungle. Siti was about to make her way up higher when she thought she spotted something and it was moving.
Siti stopped for a moment searched the branches, but she did not see anymore movement, so she headed up a few more branches before she stopped again. This time she knew she had heard something and she figured better safe than sorry and decided to make her presence know.
"Hello, is there anybody up here. If there is I could use a little direction please."

Chikala froze on her branch at the sound of the questioning voice, though she hadn't been moving much to begin with. She had half a mind to just ignore the creature. If it wasn't for the almost distressed tone in her voice. And Jivu, of course. The small lioness listened as her daughter whispered in her ear and sighed heavily. There wasn't anything that could really stop her little ashwinder (Her name chosen by her father. If it had been Chikala, she would have chosen something more like her daughter's bright eyes.). Especially not in her weakened condition. "Very well. But stay close," she whispered and smiled tiredly as her second-borne crawled away. She was very proud of little Jivu's skills. She'd be an expert climber when she grew older.
Jivu heard the female's voice as well and looked to her mother, smiling. "May I go, Mother? Introduce myself?" she asked, her whisper soft and crafty. She watched the emotions play across her mother's eyes. Uncertainty, worry, exasperation, acceptance. She figured her mother would always have difficulty hiding her feelings. When she got the okay, the little cub slunk away through the branches, missing her mother's smile of pleasure. When she could see the female through the branches and shadows, she tilted her head. She smelled like a lion, like her mother and father, but she didn't look much like her mother. Her mother was small, with a cascade of mane that fell into her eyes. This female was larger and had no mane at all. She wondered whether she was a lion or not. "We are here," the she-cub hissed in a fairly good impersonation of a snake. She tried to make herself as well hidden as possible, not wanting to risk her mother bing hurt if this female wasn't friendly. "But who are you and what are you doing in our territory?"

Siti heard nothing at first and was about to dismiss the noise as her imagination, fore she was lost in a unfamiliar place. Siti turned to head of when she heard the very eerie voice. It was highly confusing to smell was seemed to be a lion, but hear what seemed to be a snake. This served to make Siti nervous, but not so that she would leave.
'We', thought Siti as the voice spoke. Siti only heard one voice and could pick up another scent, as there were so many smells around her. She knew, however, that 'we' meant there was most like one or more others watching her. This heavy on her mind, she knew she had better not be rude or give them reason to become to upset.
She turned toward the voice at it spoke again but still she saw nothing, so she simply answered her mystery animals question.
"My name is Nabila Siti. I am from the Rogue lands passing though on my way to find a pride. I believe however I have gotten the directions turned about because I am certain I should not have reached the jungles yet. I simply need to find my way out."
Siti continued to look toward where the voice had spoke hoping the callers would reveal themselves.

"Well that's tou-" Jivu began but was hushed by the soft words from her mother. The cub sighed heavily, pouted a bit before putting a more acceptably stern look on her face before emerging from her cover, some branches away from the lioness, her mother slowly coming up behind her to introduce them.
Chikala listened to the lioness' words, slowly standing and carefully picking her way towards her daughter. She could hear Jivu about to snap at the lost female and she uttered a quick hush to her child, stopping the remark. She emerged from the cover as Jivu did, carefully and slowly, her mane flopped over half of her face. "I am Chikalawingu, and this is my daughter Jivutatia. I'm sorry that you are lost, Nabila Siti, but I know of few prides, and those I know of are within the jungle, so I would not be able to direct you in the right way..." she said, her voice whisper-soft, but still audible.

Siti was a bit taken aback by what she knew the cub would have said if her mother had not have shushed her. It was rather rude, but Siti could not fault her, after all Siti was in their territory not the other way around.
"It is very nice to meet you Chikalawingu, Jivutatia. It is quite alright, I have been lost before. I travel a lot. I climbed the tree to see if I could find a way out, but I do not think i have gone high enough."
Siti was a little sad she would most likely be lost a while longer, but she hoped maybe the lioness could point her to jungle entrance.
"Its okay if you do not know. I am looking for the En Gedi pride, but according to the directions I should not have made to the jungle this quickly. Do you know if their are human ruins in this jungle? The pride lives near some human ruins."

Chikala frowned a bit in thought as she processed the lioness' words, before shaking her head. "Human ruins... I haven't seen much outside of my family's territory, my own, and my mate's and my shared territory, and they're more or less normal places," he replied and closed her eyes for a moment. "I've never heard of this pride. What are they like?" she asked, tilting her head a bit.
Jivu huffed a bit and flopped down beside her mother. This wasn't fun! She didn't want to disobey her mother, but this was tremendously boring. She really wanted to go exploring, but she knew her mother would object, so for the moment she just lay at her mother's side.

Siti frowned wondering if she would ever find a the pride, she was so utterly turned around and she knew she would have to retrace her steps and try to find her way back to when she first got lost.
"Its a small pride, trying to build their numbers. They are warriors, but fairly friendly and the pride only allows naturally colored lions into." Siti still frowned upon the color issue, having met so many wonderful felines with beautiful colors.
Siti looked to Jivu who seemed to be a bit bored and she sympathized with the cub. "It no matter," said Siti smiling, "I am sure I will make it out of the jungle eventually. I've never been in a jungle before though, so maybe you two could show me around, explore it bit. It wouldn't do any good for me to run someone who thought me a threat."

Chikala mused over this suggestion for a moment before slowly nodding her head. "I'm afraid it will be slow going, but I see no reason why not," she replied and carefully descended to the ground. She was smaller than Siti, the visible eye a soft red. It was slowly returning to its usual brightness, but it would still take some time for her to fully recover from the effects of Jivu and her six siblings on her small body. "There are some prides here you should probably avoid, and I'll point them out along the way. And if you want, we can take you to the edge. It's not too far away."
Boring, boring, bor- Wait, what? Jivu perked up at Siti and her mother's words and looked back and forth between the two. Exploring? Now that was a good idea! She stood slowly, not wanting to look too excited, and stretched. "And snakes, Mama. Better tell her about the snakes," she added, grinning. She loved snakes. Her papa had a snake companion and she wanted one of her own. She just needed to find one.

Siti nodded and smiled, "Thanks, that is very kind of you. I would not want to be attacked. And if the edge is not to far I most have been going in circles because I probably would have found it."
Siti laughed shaking her head a little. She looked to Jivu as she spoke, "Yes I think knowing about the snakes would be good. A friend of mine had a bad run in with a snake not to long ago. He was poisoned. Snakes are interesting but I think it best to be wise about which you approach."
"So exploring it is then, well than lead the way," said Siti happily.

Chikala nodded and slowly led the way along the forest's floor. She smiled at her daughter's mentioning of the snakes. She herself was scared of the big ones, but it seemed her mate had a sort of attachment to them and his familiar had somewhat grown on her, at least enough for her to accept the snake into their quite large family. "There aren't too many dangers in this area of the jungle, most of the more dangerous prides live in other sections or in the heart," she explained, heading in a direction where the trees grew thinner as they walked.
Jivu padded at her mother's side, waving her head back and forth. "I haven't seen anyone else. And I haven't seen many snakes, either, which is sad. Papa has one for a friend. I want one, too," she said, confidant that one day she would get one. "The poisonous ones don't bother Mama and Papa. It's the big ones, right Mama?"

"Thats nice to know, thats mean for the most part we are safe." Siti moved with Chikala and Jivu, walking along forest floor. She preferred to be in the tree, but she did not know much about the wildlife in the area and trusted that Chikala did.
She smiled at Jivu and wondered if one day she would have cubs to spend time with. "Maybe someday soon you will find a snake to be your snake friend. I have never met a snake, especially a big one. I think I would like to meet one someday. A nice big one, maybe as long as I am."
Siti was only joking, but she would have like to meet a snake, just not one big enough to try to make a meal of her.

Chikala sighed and chuckled a bit, shaking her head. "I met one large enough to eat me at the time. It almost got my brother, but our father fought it away. I think I prefer the smaller ones," she replied softly as they walked. "My mate would also like to meet one of these large constrictors, but so far not much luck," she added.
"I KNOW I will. And it'll be awesome and we'll be fierce warriors and no one will ever mess with us," Jivu replied skipping around a bit. She looked around and then back to her mother. "Mama, we're close. Can I go back to the den?" she asked, waited for her mother's nod before scampering into a tree and climbing away.

"Your lucky your father came to your rescue. I think I would be terrified it a large snake tried to get me. I am curious, but not curious enough to want to see the inside of a snake belly."
Siti smiled as Jivu decided she was ready to head home, "Goodbye Jivutatia, it was nice meeting you."
Siti turned back to Chikala and smiled, "you have quite the adorable daughter. It was very nice to meet her, she seems like quite a strong cub. Shall we continue on then." Siti looked around happy to see the tree were not a crowded as they were further back.
