Badicka walked quietly down a hall, lost in thought. She had been dealing with the oddness that her previously unknown father moving in had caused her and needed time to think. She sighed softly, touching the wall as she turned a corner.

Kylie sat quietly in the overstuffed chair near the window in the common room, reading a book as she could usually be found doing on a quiet afternoon. Her choice this particular day was a copy of the ASME Journal, which she was perusing with casual interest. Not much new in this issue, she noticed, but the article on synthetic myomers was interesting. In ten years, perhaps, there would be a significant use of the electromobile plastic.
She shifted slightly in her seat, flipping a page and shifting it more directly into the sunlight.
