Storyline

In a land full of peace, mysteries and adventure…a land with towering mountains and water with pitch-black depths…a world with bright blue skies that change to thunderous shadows in the blink of an eye…a place where myth and legends come to pass…a realm where heroes are made and tyrants are broken…a province where magic is strong and anything is possible…

There was a long forgotten prophecy…

A band of unknown souls destined to become legends…whose fates were written in the stars…

The land had been suffering from a growing number of fiends. Yet this meant nothing to the people… but it soon would… Magical beasts, long lost in the past, began reappearing. Dragons roamed the skies and krakens re-conquered the seas.

Others came to Firistae, odd humans with coloured skin, beast folk with unknown pasts and strange cultures. But this still meant nothing to the people… but one day…

Arch-mage Stephan was heading to his majesty’s quarters for a private talk. He turned the key, locking the door to his private quarters as he headed towards the entrance to the University of Magical Lore.

As he passed under the archway, leaving the university’s library, he felt a chill run down his spine. He paused his walk, wondering if something was wrong. He then turned around and stepped back into the library. Slowly walking towards the crimson carpet, which ran down the centre of the room, he looked to his left, as he passed a wooden bookshelf…
“No…” He gasped, “This cannot be!” He dropped the bundle of books he was to take to the king, “The Guardian Fire is… extinguished!” He bolted out of the library, panicking, down a spiralling limestone staircase, through the university’s entrance and into the street, where he saw a small crowd of people staring and pointing at the sky. He already knew what they were staring at, as he clenched his eyes closed
“No… We are doomed...” He whispered to himself
“Arch-mage Stephan. Have you seen it?” Stephan opened his eyes and saw an armoured guard smiling in his face.
“You imbecile!” He shouted, startling the guard, “Have you no idea what this means!? All of you get off the streets, our doom is upon us!”
He then looked up to the sky, to see what he already knew was there… a dark blue comet with a bright red tail blazed across the night sky, and for the first time in years Stephan knew he was afraid…

The prophecy was being fulfilled and darkness had been sent forth to the land by an evil entity, so powerful he seemed unstoppable. An entity that was once a legendary hero but had faltered on his path towards the light and turned away from the world, filling his soul with malice…

But there were others destined to become legends, to challenge this threat to their world and take their place as legends in the history of Firistae and protect the land from the remaining dangers to come…

Your Role

For the Light...

You are one of these legends, destined to be hailed at great feasts, dreamed of by fare maidens or handsome men, envied by kings and queens, sung of by bards, worshipped by all and to inherit an eternal life in the memory of the land and its people.

You have been gifted by the gods themselves and have been sent forth by your kin and towns folk to save the land from its approaching enemies, defend your people from the growing fiends that now plague the land and the coming darkness…

In this hour the land is in dire need of heroes, for hope…and for saving. Firistae is a dieing land and only those brave enough to rise against this fate can save it.

For the Dark...

You too, are one of these legends, destined to be able to terrify anyone with a mere glance, send hordes of people fleeing by displaying your anger, force lords and ladies alike to do your bidding, revered by all and to forever inspire fear into those who speak or hear your name.

You have been blessed by darkness itself and are driven to unleash your destructive hunger upon the world and all those who stand in your way...

A shadow approaches the realm, the struggle between light and dark is beginning and the darkness thirsts for power. Do you have the strength or the willpower it takes to crush those that rise before you?

Landscape

Firistae is full of forests, lakes, chilly mountaintops, eyrie cliff tops, abandoned castles, ancient ruins, blistering deserts, snowy plains, towns and cities that are all teeming with all kinds of life.

In the heart of Firistae is a vast and ancient forest, simply called, the Great Forest. To the north of the land, over the Frostbitten Mountains are the Frozen Wastes in all their snow covered glory. West of the heart of Firistae are many large valleys and the Sunny Coast, covered in many towns and settlements where people can enjoy a life by the sea. To the east of the land are the Gem-Stone Ranges, that are covered with dwarven settlements and dwarven forts (both abandoned and inhabited), and the Broken Shore, where reefs border the coastline and rock covered beaches make it almost impossible to land a ship. In the south of Firistae are many grasslands and a vast desert known as the Bad Water Plains. Yet in this almost impassable desert is scattered many an oasis and a place the natives of the plains call Nuewanutoo (Noo-wan-a-too) Peak, an enchanted and magical mountain, covered in flourishing vegetation and teeming with life and hot springs.

There are three main cities in the land of Firistae and hundreds of smaller settlements. The largest of all the cities is Molara. It’s a huge medieval metropolis, filled with giant houses and mansions, protected by its immovable, outer stonewalls and home to the king of Firistae himself, King Jerred Arreloth II.

The second largest of these three is named Elinroth, after the lands greatest hero, who sacrificed himself alongside his lover to slay Halonec, the most evil and powerful mage that has ever walked the land.

The smallest of the three cities is named Sollest, after the lands greatest heroin, who sacrificed herself alongside her lover to slay Halonec and his unbelievably massive army of fiends.

Races

There are many races in the land of Firistae, so many, in fact, some are still to be recognised by the land and its citizens. These races possess certain talents, gifts and affinities, but there are always those who go against the norm, such as an orc (a normally violent and impatient race) becoming a master mage or diplomat. The races of the land include:

White-humes are white skinned humans that can be found in great abundance almost anywhere; they are a very civilised race and are very versatile and adaptable. Some humans make expert knights, while another may be a master mage.

Dark-humes are foreign, dark skinned humans. They hail from the Jeddarn Islands and have a culture full of revelries. They are natural sailors and known to be incredible warriors, naturally skilled with any kind of weapon.

Elves often grace the treetops of the huge forests that cover the land; they are experts with all forms of projectiles and possess a natural affinity with many forms of magic. Elves are also a diverse race, most elves choose to live in a highly civilised manor, more so than any human kingdom, but there are many elven tribes that inhabit the Great Forest, living like nomads.

Orcs are a very barbaric and brutal race with green skin and fanged teeth; they are very advanced in all combat arts but slightly lacking in intelligence and social skills. Orc clans are often fighting amongst themselves for territory and renown.

Noomar, or lizard men, are a very noble race that come in many varieties and colours and have been found living in all kinds of environments and alongside the nomadic elves. Noomar would die for honour and they are masters with a spear and various other weapon types. This race is highly attuned to nature and their environment.

Khajiit are cat-men. They have a humanoid body with fur, claws, a tail and a cat-like head; they make perfect thieves and assassins, for their ability to sneak and remain undetected is unmatched. Due to their natural abilities, they are often found living in large human settlements

Drow, or dark elves, are elven cousins who have dark skin that can be green, blue or even purple. They often have very pale or very dark hair and make excellent archers and are perfectionists when it comes to magic.

There are many other races that inhabit the land of Firistae, such as dwarves and merfolk, and many races that have never been acknowledged by the royal court, therefore new races are found every century and accepted into society.

Kayel stood in mute shock, watching his home burning to the ground. His mother appeared, grabbing his hand and fleeing from the burning houses. They struggled through panicking streets, until they saw a small group of armed men charging towards the town’s attackers. Kayel watched as his father embraced his mother for the last time, their lips brushing softly, before his father wiped the tears from his wife’s face and ran after his armed comrades.
Lead by his mother, Kayel fled the doomed settlement of Silver Water, watching from a distant hilltop as the life he knew was engulfed in flames. He knew he would never see his father again.

--------------------

Gaia Name: Zulma san

Name:Erelafay Kil'Ana (or Mooneyes from the People of the Night)

Age: 20

Gender: Female

Race: Drow

Appearance: Her face, showing her silver eyes which seemed to glow in the dark or when she is using magic. She does wear this moon head piece. The wing-like markings on her face appear when she is using her magic and draining her energy. Usually they are not to be seen.
-
Her dark, long blue hair, which seems lighter in the moon light. She has a moon pendant, matching her head piece. Her armor is silver and purple but does not have feather. And she usually wears an assorted cape. Her purple skin is strangely lighter than usual drows.

Weapon(s): Her gloves/arm pieces. They are twin sabers which she can 'summon' when needed. Therefore she usually seems weaponless.

Ability(ies): Magic linked to the water and the moon light.
Moon Light: That's why she is wearing two moon jewels, plus silver moon markings all over her armor. She still has a lot to learn in this art.
Water: She can virtually swim under water forever. She is very at ease in water or when it's raining. She knows of healing water. Her control over water is very developed, she had years of training on the subject. But she need years and strength to fully master it. Water being the less controllable of all elements.

Personality:As the element which she loves, water, Erelafay is unpredictable. She lives fully her feelings and emotions, hiding neither, except when she considers them to be embarrassing for herself. She might bring destruction under anger and yet spend hours saving lives with her healing abilities by compassion. She is much more comfortable at night or next to water but most of the time she casts a shadow of self confidence around her. She might be selfish but is not heartless. Strong willed she sometimes turns stubborn.

Bio: Erelafay's family had a connection with the fallen hero. A connection unknown of Erelafay. At her birth, she was sent away from her family living in the Great Forest, to be raised among a group of elves strangely settled in the eastern shore, in dwarf territory as per say. This is how Erelafay who was meant to be a dark drow, a daughter of the Night, controlling moon light became a daughter of the Water with a lighter skin, spending hours, days, weeks, years, on the reefs. Fighting against the element which she came to adore.

Yet strangely at night she found herself dragged out of bed by a strange power and discovered her abilities with the light. She knew that she was not from the area. Despite her questions, her crisis of anger to obtain answers, she was raised in a soft and yet annoying ignorance of her origins. Only her name meaning Mooneyes from the people of the Night was her hint towards her family.

The father of the elf family raised Erelafay and his son together. About the same age, they followed the same training. Spending nights alone in the wild, fighting every day to improve their skills, working on their element control. Water was her element, Air was his. When came the time, she left. She was meant to meet with a water master in Molara who would train her further. After several months of travel, she reached Molara for the "Great Tourney & Games". Very excited about it, she sort of forgot about the water master.

Gaia Name: Kisame Hoshigaki sama

Name: Jayger Kishi

Age: 22

Gender: Male

Race: White-hume

Appearance: Jayger

Weapon(s): A lance and a sword

Ability(ies): Jayger has become a master Wyvern rider, and can tame and comunicate with almost any dragon.

Personality: Very straight forward and hornorable. He can sometimes be a jerk, but it's just how he is. He doesn't show much emotion and is a true sodlier, strong, hard, and doesn't crack under presure.

Bio: Jayger grew up in the mountains, in a small village. His father was a great wyvern knight and he grew up idolising him. He trained with a sword and lance as much as he could to one day be a proud soldier like his father. When he turned 16 he finally joined the army, in a small unit that was to become a new wyvern rider troop. But it wasn't the fairytale life that he had dreamed about. It was hard and harsh. It made him tough, and he became a natural born soldier, but with the skills and lifestyle he now had came the mentality and personality of a fighter. He became hard and straight forward, not caring if he hurt peoples feelings or who he had to cut down in battle. But he is also honorable, and will always follow his knightly vows.

--------------------

Gaia Name: Aerin Ceili

Name: Mireille Sirceliss (Mee, for short)

Age: 21

Gender: Female

Race: Noomar

Appearance: Mee comes from a long, proud line of those that they call “fire lizards.” Not because they have any kind of special, fire related powers, but because they look like a flame, though some, the less flamboyant lizard-men, are called “embers.” Half skin, half scales cover her body, and while Mee’s skin of that of a white hume, her scales are brilliantly colored red yellow and orange, in a spiral/swirl pattern, covering mostly her back, back of her arms, and face. She has hair, though it looks out of place on her body. It’s black and fluffy and kept very short, so as not to hinder her in her work or if she should fight. She dresses lightly, so that she can better absorb the rays of the sun, but at night she has been known to bundle up tightly. Her eyes are completely black and you can rarely see the white of her eyes- only when she is experiencing any kind of shock of fear, y’know, the times when you open your eyes really wide. Her build is thin, but on the short side. Despite her height , she’s very tough and can take hard labor and/or a beating.

Weapon(s): Mee has learned many kinds of weapons (she can pretty much make a decent attempt to kill you with any type of sharp object), as you never know what kind of danger you may be facing when you’re a nomad, but she prefers a light sword to be her weapon. She relies on a lot of agility and lightness of foot to help her against her attackers.

Ability(ies): Mee is almost empathic with those she cares about. She has an uncanny sense of what they might want or need, though nothing is very specific and she has to guess at what her feelings mean a lot of the time. Other than that, Mee has a special connection with the world around her, as most of her kind does, and she knows to respect the land and those things that most people write off as luck, will happen more often to her. (Such as finding food, clean water, places to camp, tracks that are easy to find, etc.)

Personality: Nothing means more to Mee than honor. She was taught to be a good sport, and to see when she is wrong and when she is right, and to take action when she isn’t. Now that she’s grown up, she has the power to enforce some of her morals, and when she sees a deserving opportunity, she will enforce them. She’s loyal to a fault, and once she’s with you, she fight for your cause, to protect you and to help those you wish to help until the ordeal is over, or she is dead. To some it seems that she doesn’t feel pain, but she does, she can just ignore it most of the time. It saddens her that sometimes her appearance frightens those who have never seen a Noomar, but she is also proud to be the race that she is. Without a cause to fight for, however, she is lost in her life. She’s not a mercenary because she doesn’t have to be paid to fight, and she doesn’t necessarily believe in your cause if you pay her, and she only fights for what she believes in.

Bio: Mireille grew up as a respected daughter of the Ishlessa tribe, a group of nomads who traversed wherever there was trade to be found. As a result, she’s seen a lot of the world, though she doesn’t necessarily remember all of it, as she was very small, not paying attention, or otherwise occupied at the time. Her tribe was very matriarchal, and Mee still has a hard time letting men have control, even though since the time she was born she’s been exposed to other cultures. She’s never been completely in control of anything, but she does like to have a say in what is going on around her, and she’s always been this way. As a child she was mocked for it, but as an adult, she’s been respected for her ideas. She left the tribe at eighteen to find her own way in the world, because life in the tribe was becoming too tame for her. She’s been wandering for three years now, but she has yet to find a cause that will hold her attention for more than a few months.

--------------------

Gaia Name: Lucia Incrucem

Name: Tilek Bullseye

Age: 44

Gender: Male

Race: Troll

Appearance: Tilek has red eyes, dark green skin and ash gray hair with streaks of black. He stands at 7'3" and is primarily composed of muscle; the rest should be evident through the picture.

Weapon(s): Dual Battle Axes, Throwing Axes, A Massive Body

Ability(ies): Tilek is proficient in Voodoo style magic, relating primarily to use of any substance for the development of a potion or casting of spells, thus using his powers fails to drain his energy. With his eyes he is able to see in infrared, and through his eye-patch he is able to see the supernatural. Being a troll, Tilek has an unnaturally high regeneration rate, and is capable of regaining entire limbs; assuming anyone had the time on their hands to hack through the massive amount of meat to begin with.

Personality: Tilek is battle hungry, but honorable. Being the largest, strongest, and most diversely capable when it comes to magic among the members of his tribe, Tilek is eager for any challenge that he might face. He is not malicious, however. Though he fails to hesitate to end life, he does respect the dead; partially due to the fact that he communicates with the spirits of the deceased. His speaking style is overflowing with the accent of his tribal language, but his tone is generally enough to reveal his accepting nature.

Bio: Due to their regenerative nature, Trolls grow at a rapid rate, and age extremely slowly. Tilek spent twenty-five years of his life, perhaps a tenth of what would have lied ahead of him, training himself in the ways of combat and learning from the many teachers of his island techniques and schools of use for darker magic. After having learned of the many magical uses of all things, both foreign and local, he chose to travel with a merchant ship that had arrived at the island to trade goods. Traveling with them to distant lands, Tilek continued perfecting his talents in all fields and, after many journeys, has decided to change his means of travel to foot. Firistae just so happens to be the island which he chose to explore.

Gaia Name: Music ninja x

Name: Blade Tail

Age: 61

Gender: Male

Race: Fox

Appearce: 4'10" 146 lbs. White fur. Wears a blue silk robe with a white sash for his weapons. The robe has the kanji symbol in white for tree 土 on the back side right above where his tail comes out. And he wears a brown sack on his back.

Weapon(s): Two Wakizashis on the left hand side of his belt, and a jitte on his right side. He also keeps two tantos in his robe for back up.

Ability(ies): Very talented with duel weapons, has some skill with a bow but prefers to be in close range of his oppent

Personality: Though reaching his mature age and even though playing jokes on other foxes is the best entertainment in the tribes, he is still considered childish in his ways. He is always ready for a spare and never ready to take the situation serious.

Bio: He was born with 9 brothers and 10 sisters, his name came from his tail having a pointed tip, that he use to use when he was a pup to taught and tease his sibilings. He has always had talent with the sword, and was has been trained for the past 50 years of his life. After taking every sword sparing tournament in his nation of fox folks, he was sent by the elders to see how other tibes live and to help make a name for his nation. The elders were... and still worried about this choice.

I hereby declare this RP OPEN!

Current Setting and Weather:

It's the middle of a sunny day in the middle of Molara (the largest city in Firistae) and the arena is about to begin its "Great Tourney & Games" (kinda like the Olympics, but it's in Firistae, has sword fighting, magic and a bit of blood, this event only occurs every five years)

Kayel shoved and jostled his way through the bustling streets of Molara. He was making his way through the market place, gasping at all the wonderfully exquisite things that overwhelmed his senses. Fragrant spices filled his nostrils, flamboyant tapestries drew the eye, Furs and women were draped over shoulders and roaring stall owners waved around treasures of all kinds.
I've never experienced anything like this before! He realised.
He resisted the urge to linger, like many of the crowd who chose to, instead heading towards the arena. If he made it there fast enough, he would be able to see the beginning of the magic displays, the visual amazements that were famed throughout Firistae. He dropped his hand to his shrinking coin purse, spotting a shady looking beggar nearby.
His stomach reminded him he was hungry, as he rounded the final bend.
By the Heavens! His jaw dropped and his eyes widened as he sighted the massive and beautiful construct of the arena. Such a city must be travelled and experienced to believe.
Kayel entered into a stone archway that lead to a large room where food and drink were available. After climbing a flight of stairs, he emerged to find a huge mass and mixture of people from all races, seated in a vast auditorium, looking into the pit.
PostPosted: Sat Sep 06, 2008 1:00 am

((anyone who wants to join me, may! 4laugh ))

The deafening crowd began to hush as two men emerged from the opposite pit entrances, the traditional entry points for opposing teams or individuals. They both wore highly decorated and extravagant robes, one with a red sash around one arm, wore a very expensive outfit, decorated with gold, topazes, amber and many other valuable items that were yellow in colour. The other man, with a blue sash around one arm, had a very detailed and intricate design on his dark blue robe, that resembled the image of a silver phoenix, wrapping itself around his body. He also wore a silver circlet, with a sapphire fixed above his forehead that seemed to glow.
"Citizens of Firistae!" Kayel only just noticed the announcer, who seemed incredible drab and plain in comparison to the two men standing beside him. "Without further delay, I present to you the opening performance for our magic displays." The speaker paused as the crowd around him began to flood the arena with cheering. "Standing beside me, are, the Red Wizard, Arkeelios!" Again the crowd roared. "The Blue Wizard, and reigning champion, Dargo!" Kayel covered his ears, to protect them from the eruption of sound this name evoked in the crowd.

Erelafay arrived in town. Her months in direction of the city had taught her the danger of villages, towns and cities. She had lived for years in isolation. Cliffs, water, forests, sparse farms...emptiness, quietness, wildness...the dangers were different. As deadly, but different and she had not been taught those of inhabited regions. Her skin, so different from the ones of other races was attracting the looks. Her armor, which to be honest did not cover her fully, and her shapes, muscled and yet feminine, were attracting other desires. Men thought that she was naive and unarmed... Well...she had been trained not to hesitate and more than one ended up with a missing limb. She was not a bad person though and to avoid such encounters, she took the habit to travel by night and were her cape wrapped tightly around her.

When Erelafay reached town, she was like a child. She had never seen something more crowded and colorful. It gave her a feeling of vertigo. She did not know where to go, what to watch. Strong smell surrounded her, rich fabrics attracted her eyes, shouting of merchants resounding to her ears. She found herself more than she really decided to go, in the boxed of the arena, watching with hundreds or even thousands of people a dual. She was the blue and the red man facing each other. She had no clue what the rules were. She cast her eyes on both sides. To her left was a woman carrying a child. She wondered why such a person would be there. To her right was a white-hume, with short dark blond hair who seemed very focused on the dual. She turned her eyes back to the arena.

PostPosted: Sat Sep 06, 2008 7:34 pm

((hooray!))

Kayel watched as the two men dipped their heads to each other, the Red Wizard seeming to do so with a great air of arrogance, before they both walked away from each other, allowing for a fair distance between them. He didn't notice the plainly dressed speaker as he walked to a small podium, placed against the walls of the pit.
The speaker then raised a metal gong above his head and used some sort of telekinetic push to sound it. The noise it made washed over the crowd, who began to slowly change from a shouting mob to a murmuring gathering.
A spray of purple sparks caught Kayel's, and the entire arena crowd's, attention to Dargo, who seemed not to have moved at all. He was standing like a statue and the thousands of citizens in the crowd were amazed by him. A sudden flash, similar to the first, materialised from the Red Wizard, who seemed to be mimicking Dargo.
Kayel couldn't help but chuckle, breaking the impossible silence of the crowd surrounding him. Some joined him, whether they were laughing at him or the competitors, he didn't know.

From a younger age, Kayel had known, that at times, his attention span was very short, this was such a time. He began to observe his immediate surroundings; a man, sporting some rugged scars on his uncovered arms and a dark skinned creature with pointed ears, the likes of which he had never seen before, sat by his sides. A group of plump women sat in the seats before him and he heard the sound of a child giggling, close to the beautiful, but strange, humanoid he guessed was an elf... or a dark elf.

But a flash of light, once again drew his attention back to the contestents. A crackling and sizzling arc of orange sparkles leapt from the Red Wizard's outstretched hand, and swirled around Dargo, the Blue Wizard; who seemed incredibly focused. As the orange sparkles encircled Dargo, a wave of purple sparkles erupted from the Blue Wizard, the sounds following the wave reminded him of the sea he missed from his hometown of Silver Water.

As Dargo's blue wave neared his opponent, it whooshed upwards, changing to a dark purple hue, it spiralled high over the crowd, before the sparkles morphed into the shape of a huge phoenix.
This is amazing! Kayel thought.
The Blue Wizard's hand seemed to direct the bird, performing loops and acrobatics that stunned and amazed the crowd. Then, the Red Wizard went down on one knee and raised his hands above his head. A ring of amber sparks surrounded him, then warped slightly, almost making an oval. With a sudden jump back onto his feet, the Red Wizard conjured a glowing, amber coloured, image of a giant snake, beginning with its jaws, the oval-like shape, and ending with a pointy tail.
The crowd gasped and awed at the brilliant image of the snake.
Dargo dropped his arm and pointed at the newly conjured snake, the image of the phoenix obeying his will and circling into a swoop. As the phoenix collided with the snake, the deep purple and glowing amber mixed, and tumbled through each other, until the phoenix emerged out the other side of snake's body.
Again the crowd murmured in awe and admiration of the beauty of this display.
A thunderous clap broke through the sound of whispers and exclamations. Dargo had created a glowing orb, purple like his phoenix, but much darker. He hurled the orb upwards and his phoenix flew straight towards it, shattering it into a dark, inky swirl of a cloud. The cloud began to spread, growing larger, faster, until it filled the atmosphere of the entire dome.
The crowd panicked, at first, but then they looked up to the artificial night sky Dargo had created, and cheered.
The Red Wizard raised one of his arms to the sky, the other to the body of his conjured snake, which began to convulse, crackling and sizzling as it did so. He then raised both arms to the sky and the snake suddenly leapt into the air, with a newly formed pair of wings and limbs. It had become the image of a dragon.
The crowd responded with more cheering. Kayel felt mesmerised by the amazing form and shape of the dragon.
Is this what they really look like? He wondered.
"One day, i'll know for sure." He muttered, seemingly unaware that he'd spoken aloud.
