Who names their pets after their favourite fantasy characters? I know I do! 3nodding I used to have lots of fish named after characters, and my family had a black cat that I dubbed Mischeif Managed (Mischeif for short) in honour of the Marauders in Harry Potter.
Of course, I haven't lived at home for a couple of months and decided I needed a kitten in my empty house. My sister's best friend had kittens (not literally xd ) and I got first choice. I chose a fluffy grey female that my mates say resembles a dust bunny! 4laugh I named her Cinderpelt after a characer in the Warriors series by Erin Hunter. I call her Cinder for short, and even though I only brought her home today she's already purring for me. whee 4laugh I'm so happy!

Does it count that 90% of my Webkinz have literary references in their names? For example, the white mouse is Jonathan Frisby (Mrs. Frisby's late husband), one of the cats is Eliot (after T.S. Eliot), and the leopard is Kipling ("How the Leopard Got His Spots").

I tend to name fish after Shakespearean characters. What better name is there for a goldfish than Ophelia?

Hamster = Porscha Bird one = Hamlet Bird 2 = MacBeth
I plan on naming my bird Luna, or something else HP related. ^^

I have a dog named Sirius Black who does nothing but live up to his name. This dog is just so...off, that my family call him "Sci-Fi" (They insist that it's pronounced Cyrus, so I assume the nickname came from that).

Can anyone think of a nice literary name for a chipmunk? Perhaps a chipmunk that was a character in a book?

I recently got a guinea pig that I thought about naming "Mina", after the character in Dracula. But I changed my mind and went with "Dani", which I took from "Danica" in Amelia Atwater-Rhodes' series.

Quote: Can anyone think of a nice literary name for a chipmunk? Perhaps a chipmunk that was a character in a book? You know, I don't think I've EVER read a book where a chipmunk was a major character. Other woodland creatures, certainly, but never a chipmunk. You could always name it after any character that had a personality that reminds you of your pet.

The only book I could find was How the Chipmunk Got His Stripes. Maybe I'll name it after the author or illustrator.
