Shiara's Velvet Diary. Only she should be posting in here.

Mar 8th - What a cool cat. Like most other siamese he's sassy and attention hungry, but he's also developed an outlit through music. I wonder which instrument he'll choose as his favorite?

Oct 17- Well you really are one of a kind. Smart and sassy, sweet and domesticated. You're everything rolled in one and you certainly know it! Only someone as equally spicey would do as a companion, take good care of him. :3

The Inner Workings of Shiara Moon

Entry for flatsale
Introduction
What to say about myself? I am no simple critter, and there are many sides to my personality, some more dominant than others, but all are important aspects of who I am. I know I can never give the full depth of my personality, as even I do not know everything about me; there are many twists and turns in my mind that I cannot even begin to explore, and perhaps never will. Yet, as I have no other choice, I will try my best to help you comprehend this being, this soul, this creation that I am. I only hope that will be enough....

Now, where to begin...

A list would do for starters, just a map of where I would like to take you on this exploration of myself; only there are so many parts of me; so many depths and crevasses. I wonder how I can ever compel them all to you in this short description. Just the basics then, to start with.

As you may have already noticed, I can be quite the philosophical one, a surprising thing considering the fact that I am only 16 years old, but then again, I have never been 'average' or 'normal' by anyone's standards. Strangely enough, this is one aspect seldom seen by those outside of my inner circle, yet it is a key part of who I am.

Next, I suppose, would be the infinite passion I seem to have for others. I would gladly lay my life down to defend another, even an enemy, though I do not think of them as such and long for the day when I can overcome the obstacles and call them 'friend'. Though my temper may flare, I simply cannot bring myself to hurt another being, the guilt alone would destroy me.

My faith would have to come next, I have always believed that, in the end, everything is going to be all right, no matter what happens along the way. I am naive and ignorant at times, forgetting how cruel the world can be; causing my feelings to take a battering on a regular basis. Those being my core values, there are a few, more visible, traits and, I must admit, faults that must also reveal.

When it comes to being hard headed and stubborn, I can dig my heels in with the best of them. This, coupled with a somewhat prideful nature, can lead to very intense arguments. When I am the one in the wrong, I will usually admit my error and apologize.

Though I may be intelligent in math and problem solving, I do not always have the best common sense in the world. I must repeatedly learn things the hard way, then, when I learn the lesson, it will take ages before I finally put it into practice. Highly impractical though that may be, that is the way I am.

I tend to be somewhat open and trusting with my knowledge, unintentionally revealing secrets that are not mine to tell. Though once asked to keep a secret, I will never reveal it.

I am easy emotionally wounded; I value the opinions others have of me, what they think of me. If I am told that someone thinks I am self-centered or cruel, it eats me up from the inside out as if I were the one who had been mistreated. I feel a great empathy for others, and occasionally tear myself up when I want to take away their hurt, but it is something that they must fix themselves.

This may not be the best introduction, but describing yourself is never an easy task. It is like trying to look at your face when you're in complete darkness. You can feel what it looks like and you have some concept of what it is, but you can never quite describe it correctly. I've done the best I can, I only hope that will be enough.

~ You've wandered in upon the shop for whatever reason. All seems quiet and deserted until you hear a small voice. Before you a small plush appears to be walking and talking. How do you react? (Answer of course in rp format. Whether you run like a scared baby, try to make friends, or punt the poor little dear, put a little of your personality into it. ^ ^ We like serious and silly, so do your best!)

Curious as ever, Shiara walked into the shop, "Hello?" she asked tentatively. No one answered, Must be in the back or something, she thought, might as well have a look around....

After browsing through the many plushies, she thought she saw movement out of the corner of her eye. "Hello? Is anyone there?" Silence. Investigating further, she saw a small plush lying on the ground. It did not look like any animal she had ever seen before. It was slightly deer-like, but it had a large bushy tail, padded feet, and it's eyes were facing more forward, like a predator, rather than out to the side like an animal of prey. Looking more closely, she saw that it had a decent sized tear at the top of its front left leg. "You poor thing, someone played with just a little too rough, didn't they?" Bending down, she moved to pick up the plush. Did it flinch when she reached for it? Frowning, she reached out again. This time it was unmistakable, the plush actually moved.

"You're alive?" she said amazed. The little thing looked up her with eyes that seemed to be full of pain and fear, and her heart just melted. "Come here little one, why don't we see if I can't fix you up?" her voice was soothing and gentle as were her hands when she picked up the little creature, making sure to cradle its leg carefully. Setting it down softly on a nearby table, she found a sewing kit nearby. Assured that the owners would not mind her borrowing the kit, she found a color thread that just matched its coat and began to carefully stitch up the small tear. At first, the plush cried out when it saw the sharp needle and tried to burrow into her lap, but she soothed it, telling it that it would be over soon along with other reassurances. Finally, it braced itself and allowed her to mend the rip. Skillful hands flew accurately a swiftly and soon she had tied off the knot and cut away the excess thread. "There now that wasn't so bad now was it?" the tear was hardly noticeable and the plush seemed much happier. That was when she noticed the large patches of dirt marring its beautiful cloth. "My, you're filthy, why don't we clean you up a bit?"

Going into the bathroom, she soaked a paper towel in the sink, and then squeezed out as much of the excess water as she could. Returning, she gently wiped away the smudges and then patted with a dry paper towel. "There now, good as new!" She said happily, the plush seemed happy about it too. It snuggled into her as she held it, and she merely let it stay there. Holding it, she was reminded of days a small child when she had been teased and picked on by other children. She would come home and run back to her room crying. She would grab her stuffed rabbit and hide under the covers to tell Bunny how mean everyone had been. She would pour her heart out to the little toy, and it was almost as if Bunny was telling her that everything would be okay, that she would make sure that no one hurt her again.

She just stood there, holding the plush as she remembered. Suddenly it was as if she was a young girl again, but this time the roles where reversed, it was the plush who had been hurt, the plush who needed someone to comfort it. "It's alright, I'll keep you safe. I promise...."

Where We Live

Ah, my poor, little apartment was too small for my not so little family to live in, so, just before I got Sebastian, we saved every last dime to by a modest, spacious house just outside the city limits. The house is three stories tall. The ground floor has the kitchen, dining/breakfast room, den, and playroom. The second floor has many, many bedrooms and not near enough bathrooms. And on top of about two feet of sound proof flooring, is my sanctuary from this mad house. Out back there is a large pasture with a small pond. There's also a stable connecting to the kitchen for the hooved members of our family who might have a bit of trouble climbing stairs.
