It was that damned rabbit again. Ekun growled, and lowered into a crouch. It wouldn't get away this time...She was bigger and faster and better at pouncing now. And darn it! She wanted to know WHY he was following her! Why he always seemed to pop up where she was...She gave a cubbish roar and pounced at it, growling when she missed and he took off. Touche...She scrambled to her feet and followed after.

Safi was snoozing in the sun, just enjoying the warmth of the golden orb. He'd tired himself out earlier hunting, and had a full belly. Suddenly he yelped as something ran over his back. He stood, only to have something run right into him and knock him down. "Owowowowow....."

Ekun groaned. Stupid orangey-yellow wild dog had to get in her way...wait. Orangey-yellow? She blinked and looked at the dog she was laying on top of. The same markings..."Dogbreath?" Was it really him? He was so much bigger now! Then again...so was she

Safi blinked and looked at the bundle of fur on him. And blinked again. "Lionbutt?" Same markings, but bigger. Like he'd gotten bigger. He grinned. "Ekun!!!!!!!!!!! Hey! How're you?! It's been FOREVER!" His tail wagged. "Wait'll you hear what I got ta tell you!"

Ekun rolled her eyes and laughed. "It has been a while, Safi." She got off the wild dog, smiling brightly. Forget the rabbit! She just ran into an old friend! "I've been good, mostly. Got into a fight a while ago...but I'm over it. So what is it you wanna tell me?" Oh....Maybe it was some juicy bit of knowledge about someplace far away!

Safi blinked as he noticed the scars on Ekun's muzzle and shoulder. But they were the only ones he could see so...It was all good! He sat up. "I'm a daddy! I met this REALLY nice lady, and we had puppies! Seven of 'em!" He was such a proud father. He loved his pups so much he thought he would burst at times. "So I'm lookin' for my Mom and Papa and siblings so I can show them!"

Ekun looked at Safi wide eyed. Her friend was a dad now! Wow...a lot of time HAD passed. "That's awesome, Safi. But...wow...That's a big family..." She wondered how her Mama would handle seven cubs...Ekun was sure that no matter how many she had, Mama would be a perfect Mama like always. Though...she did kinda wonder where her dad was...

Safi nodded. "It is big...but that's okay. There's Pich, who's really quiet but she can light up the savanna when she smiles. And Lela is always making things for everyone. And Veerle is like Pich, but thinks a lot. And Kisu is really playful. And Jaali is cute, and tries to get away with everything. Chim is...well, Chim. And Moyo is the middle girl!" He had remembered everyone's names! Not a mistake! "One day...I want you to meet them!"

Ekun giggled. Safi sounded like he really did care about his family. "You're lucky Safi...I wonder who my Papa is..." She had to have one somewhere right? Maybe that's where her siblings got their weird colors. Cause Mama certainly wasn't red...And maybe that's where she and Ayo got their red eyes.

Safi blinked and licked the top of Ekun's head. "You should ask your Mom. I bet she'll tell ya!" After all, why wouldn't a Mom tell their cubs or pups about their Papa? Just didn't make sense to Safi. "Maybe he's a brave lion who has something REAL important to do? Like...like find his parents!"

Ekun giggled. "You're silly Dogbreath. Not everyone is looking for their parents like you. But it is kinda neat to think about..." She smiled. "I'll ask her! And...and I'll tell ya all about it later!" She nodded. "Yeah! Thanks Safi!" She purred and nuzzled his side. "You're not so bad...for a dog~"

Ekun laughed and nodded. "You know that game? Sure! Lesse...I spy with my little eye....something big and gray!" It was nice seeing a friend again after so long. She'd have to start keeping an eye out for more of her old friends as she traveled with her family...and she needed to ask her Mama about her Papa...
