What I have shown you is reality... Yoshitaka Amano pretty much became the face of Vampire Hunter D (mostly because he's the guy that draws D's face. XD) Not only is he the head artist for Vampire Hunter D but was also Character Designer for the Final Fantasy games up to Final Fantasy VII when Testuya Nomura takes over (Amano wasn't too happy about this), however Amano still does all of the Final Fantasy logo art. So any ways, discuss and post some of his favorite works. Please remember not to stretch the page and link to the picture if you need to. <3  What you remember... that is the illusion.

    These are my top favorite pictures. I absolutely love his artwork, it's beautiful.
I love it so much because it has that fantasy theme in it, and I'm a huge fan of things like that. I also love the way they are drawn, and I don't think anyone else could have done a better job at D's character. Though the manga has good drawing of D too. <3

Amanos are good, very beautiful and artistic, but the Manga gives you more of a everyday look and feel to D.
I cant say i have a favorite, cause any good picture of D is, well good lol. I have a growing collection on my computer, way too much to upload and post. XD
What i do want to see are good D pictures but with facial expressions. Like a D "Oh s**t" moment or the anime fountain of tears. Things like that, lol. Out of character things for him. Like a damn smile.
Or god forbid him laughing. But then i think the universe would explode, or he would.

I see for the first time Amano's Work when searching for Final Fantasy VI arts, and i'm still very fond of this arts. Final Fantasy VI is my favourite Final Fantasy, too...but I love the Amano couple art too. I'll add some of these picture tomorrow ^_-

I have to say that I did not know that he did artwork for Final Fantasy but I can see that it would be awsome!! I lovd his artwork the first time I saw it though!! It was so unique but utterly breath taking.

Amano-sensei makes the images for Castlevania and especially "Alucard" aka Adrian Farenheights Tepes. Anyhow, I would love for Yoshitaka Amano to make a portrait of D and Alucard (Brothers) together taking on their Father; "Dracula". Work the story line Kikuchi-sama!! Work it!!! heart heart

I've been a fan of Amano's artwork since my very first Final Fantasy game, Final Fantasy VI, when I was 5 years old. (i played it not long after it was released in 1994) I mean, it looked a little weird to me, then, but it was still cool. Now, I have a much bigger appreciation of his art. It's detailed, powerful, and often dark. Not that there's anything wrong with dark... Probably one of my favorite pieces of his, though, was one of his conceptual drawings for Final Fantasy VI. The drawing is of one of my favorite female video game characters ever, Celes Chere. It's not all that dark, contrary to many of his pieces, but there's a lot of emotion in Celes' face, and in how she holds her sword...  She bears a look of hidden burden, but also that of a woman trying to find her way in the world...

I think I nearly choked on my drink reading your second comment though. I can just imagine him making that sort of laugh it's creepy and funny at the same time. If that's how he laughs then i can't blame him for now doing it. xD
