Fluttering about the room in excitement, Kani double checked the decorations; a silvery fog hung low, rolling transparently across the floor and brushing against ankles, the ceiling had a spell cast upon it to create the illusion of a brewing storm, which felt omniciently real with the floating candles flickering, creating shadows. Tiny fireflies blinked in and out of sight, bringing some colorful life into the large, dim room. Their unexpected entrance was not unwelcomed after Kani found their faint light to be balancing, lessening the weight of the darkness. All in all, the theme of the decorations turned out magnificently. Very Kale-esque. 'A vampire would find the place welcoming,' Kani snorted to herself at the thought. Giving a final survey of the room, she couldn't help but feel smug. Her parents wouldn't even recognize their own home, which was normally light and airy with plenty of sunshine basking their house from their many, odd shaped windows. But lucky her, they would not be witnessing the transformation of the beloved, cozy home since they were oh-so-conveniently out of town. 'I knew those Quidditch game tickets would be too tempting for them to pass up, hell, I almost took them for myself. Bloody sacrifices I make for Kale!' Kanita could help but dramatize slightly. Theatrics were always fun, after all.
Conjuring more plush couches of a deep green shade, since Kale was, after all, from the Slytherin household, and connecting her Ipod to the radio, Kani placed it on shuffle before readying the tables. Across from the fireplace were two, long tables absolutely overflowing with food and beverages. The left table held the butterbeer and punch bowl while the right one had sweets of all kinds. Most of which were 'borrowed' from her mother's pastry shop. "I do hope mother won't miss them too much..."
Then the Doyle's grandfather clock rung, signaling the new hour. "Time to greet the guests. Kale better not be too late, or I swear to Merlin I'll drag him in by his ear." Her lips quivered with a smile at the thought.

"Oii!" Dexter near-shouted as her tumbled through the Doyle estate fireplace, standing to brush off the ashes witih a crinkle of his nose. "Damn it all to hell Kani! I'm wearing my good, tiight white pants...if you didn't notice. Very a**-accentuating and now there are smudges. How am I to woo Kale now? Hmmm?" He turned and wiggled his buttom at his lovely friend, unable to keep the grin from his face but truly put-out over his dirtied clothes. 'Maybe I should just take off all my clothes and make it a knickers party?? Hahahaha, wouldn't that just please Kani- having half dressed blokes hormonally charged and prancing after the apple-of-their-eye!! Ohhoho.' Dexter's body shook with silent chuckles as he smiled a crookedly devious smile at Kanita. "Don't worry my blossum, I'll just stick with spiking the punch bowl." Sighing, he reached a hand out to pat her head reasurringly, as if she could read the naughty plans running about his mind.

Kani's tinkling laughter filled the room as Dexter gave her quite a good view of his nicely shaped rearend. Trying to stiffle her laughs as he continued miniranting about possibly, but very unlikely, catching Kale's fancy, Kanita smiled widely back at her long time friend. 'Oh it's been too long!' Apparating mid-leap, Kani ended up half tackling, half hugging her Slytherin mate. Practically squeezing the life out of him before pulling away suspiciously as Dexter's chest vibrated with laughter. 'That can't be good...what is he up to? Scheming, undoubtably. Ugh, I don't know why others find it confusing that he's in Slytherin. Though cheerful, he belongs in no other house. That's for suuure.'
Even more suspicious now that she could see Dexter grinning maniacally down at her, "Oh hug me back already you sod, I'll pretend I didn't hear that. I'm suppose to be the responsible hostest you know! What would mother and father think?!" Her giggles erupted musically from her lips again as she stretched up on tiptoes to peck him lightly on the lips. There was only the slightest bit of romanticism in her affection for Dexter because her friendship was so much stronger.

Ascella, her hair up in a neat french bun, stepped down the paved driveway to The Doyles' manor. Her mother had dropped her off, since she wasn't allowed to drive, however, Mrs.Henther didn't linger long, considering that after what happened to her eldest daughter, Mrs.Henther trusted Ascella more than anything, and knew that if something went wrong, everyone else at the party would be able to handle it. Ascella and her mother had Flew Powdered to a hotel the night before, of course it was a wizard hotel. Since Ascella was trusted, but didn't have the money for a Hotel, Mrs.Henther accompanied her, as well as paying the bill for their stay. Also, Ascella really didn't like traveling by flew powder, and liked looking nice, so she practically begged her mother to let them stay the night, so she wouldn't arrive covered in soot the next day. Since, well, Kale would be there. Floating back to Reality, Ascella clentched her small handbag even tighter, her wand was hidden away in it, since she had bewitched it to hold a lot of things without looking any larger. Having not been to her Ravenclaw friends' house in a long while, Ascella couldn't help but admire the large building. It's so much cleaner than mine. There are all sorts of things in the front yard of my house. From toys to grass-less patches, and even broken flower pots. This is so much nicer than home. Ascella was wearing a simply knee length green dress, spaghetti straps lowering into a v-neck that complimented all of her curves almost perfectly. With a silver necklace and matching earrings adorning her skin, she ran her fingers along her dress, smoothing it out. Her silver stained shoes were high heeled, with small straps going around her feet. This was what she was supposed to wear to Melanie's wedding..However, she didn't get to attend the fine occasion due to currently unmentioned circumstances. With a deep breath, Ascella opened the door to the beautiful home.
-------
As she entered the house, she was taken by surprise. "Whoa..." Her eyes dashed from the fog to the floor, to the smoking ceiling, to the candles, the food, every little detail she caught. The green couches, the silver accents. Slytherin of course, for Kale. Kale. He's eighteen now.. With a small sigh, Ascella put on her best party face, which wasn't all that good compared to Dexter, and set her bag on a hook next to the door. As soon as she came back to reality, after staring at the gorgeous decor, Ascella immediately grinned as she saw her best mate Dexter, and her rather close friend Kani. "Kani! Dex! I hope you don't mind me letting myself in...I herd music, and didn't want to knock very hard.." Ascella kept her hands together, her fingers twiddling together. The night before she had covered all of her bruises with some salve, however, they would show up once the soothing liquid wore off. Looking over Dexter, she smiled, glad that her friends were there, and Kale had yet to arrive. If he was there when she walked in, she wouldn't know if she would be able to give Dexter a kiss on the cheek. Though, maybe..If Kale was here, and I did kiss Dex on the cheek..Maybe he would be so burned with jealousy he would sweep me off my feet. Oh who am I kidding. I've been reading to many damn romance novels. Alas, what can you do when your stuck in the hospital?
Shaking the thought from her head, Ascella immediately walked over to Dexter, and gave him a very meek hug. "Dex, you look absolutely fabulous. Those white pants are very sexy. I'd ask for a bit if..Well. You know." With a wink, Ascella stood up on her tip toes, kissing Dexter on the cheek. Even with high heels, Cella was to short to reach just about anyone, though, she still liked to be the one to kiss. I wonder how well Dexter can kiss. I mean really kiss...No! Not again. Your faithful to one man! That guy at the beginning of the summer doesn't count. "Kani! Your house looks fantastic! I wish I could have more parties, but my brother would rat me out..." And my house isn't suited for parties. I always go to Grandmere's house down the road for a party. Rather nervously, Ascella adjusted the bobby pins in her hair, paranoid that doing the slightest thing would alter her hair, she had spent so long trying to keep it up.

Stumbling out of the fireplace with just about everything except grace, Vlaityn struggled to regain a sense of balance and composure after her entrance to the Doyle household. After all, she wasn't exactly know for having a good handle on the Floo. In all honesty, it was a miracle that Vlaityn had arrived without hurting herself or breaking anything. Again.
Brushing herself off and allowing a nervous chuckle to emerge, Vlaityn surveyed the uniquely decorated room. Kani had outdone herself completely, especially with the fog. It seemed that every last detail was immaculate, right down to the couches and fireflies. With a small, lop-sided smile, Vlaityn looked about the room, glad to see she wasn't the first, or the last, to arrive. She was a bit afraid she'd be last, practically having to beg her mother on bended knee to be able to come.
"Really Kani, this is why we want you to throw all the shindigs." Vlaityn grinned as she approached the small group while messing with her sweater nervously. She was somewhat afraid she hadn't dressed up enough, in a gray and black argyle sweater layered over a white collared shirt with her favorite pencil skirt. She had accented the outfit with chunky bits of jewelry doing her hair in an edgy, layered style. Maybe the doubt was coming just because Ascella looked outstandingly radiant in her simple green dress. Pushing doubt away, Vlaityn looked back up at the rest. "Everything looks great."

"Omphahhh." Dexter let out a half surprised gasp as the air escaped his lungs due to Kani's particularly enthusiastic welcome. Taking on the role of the angelic guest, Dexter tried to look affronted. "Of course you didn't hear a thing, my sweet, for I don't believe I said anything too revealing." His attempt to keep in his chuckles failed, "Oah hah, I think you've been spending much too much time with dear Pippa and her various daydreams." Following Kani's orders, Dexter tightly held the petite witch in his arms, giving her a sweet peck back before sighing. "Now, if only Ascella was here..."
Like magic, his graceful counterpart drifted silently into the Doyle household, surprising him with her enterance. "Dex, you look absolutely fabulous. Those white pants are very sexy. I'd ask for a bit if..Well. You know." And of course she finished the saucy comment off with a wink, which, in turn, caused Dexter to turn to her with open arms and a raised brow, "I knew Kale was bound to rub off on you sooner of later. Not that you'd mind." Dex couldn't help but add as he pulled Ascella's meek hug in closer, half-tempted to ruffle her hair but wisely leaving the lovely up-do untouched.
And as if the Slytherin wizard didn't already feel deeply satisfied with his company already, in popped Vlaityn, looking charismatically uncomposed and adorable. 'Hah, though I'd never tell her that with that particular wording. I don't think she's the type to be called adorable. Maybe I'll stick with...' "Ravishing." 'Oh dear, hah.' Clearing his throat after announcing the single description all to clearly, Dexter felt the need to clarify, "You always manage to look as if your laying across a rose strewn bed after a right good tussle, even when your just standing there all dusted up." Slipping momentarily away from Kani and Cella, Dexter hopped over to Vlaityn, completely disregarding her personal bubble as he brush some soot from her cheek. Secretly, he's always wanted to touch her skin. See if it felt as soft and delicate as it looked. He wasn't sure if he'd be cursed in the arse for such a bold move, but it was well worth it. His curiousity was satisfied, pleasantly so.
Stepping back quickly, before making an awkward situation, Dexter beamed at the three girls. "Well now, I best liven up that punch bowl before the rest of the guests get here and think anything of it!" Shooting a mixed grin at Vlaityn, somehow combining a devilish and an impish look into one expression, Dexter apparated across the room and conjured quite a few bottles of firewhiskey.

Ascella let out a small gasp for air as her Slytherin friend embraced her. Her earrings dangled against her neck, her hands were still together in front of her, nonchalantly smoothing down her dark green dress. "Well, of course. However, I just wish my mother would realize that. She made me go on a date with that horrible Sean Matthews. Remember him from last year, he 'graduated' in June. I swear, he is the most awful person in the world, I'm almost ashamed to have been from the same house. Though, he is a rather good ki-" At that last statement, Ascella snapped her mouth shut, and whistled to keep people from noticing her small mistake. Luckily for her, Dexter ran off to go see Vlaityn, so she was saved. For now.
I really need to learn to shut my mouth. Ah well, Dexter has so many things he hasn't told me of, and I'm not going to pry. Oh wait! I need to get Kale's gift out!
Ascella 'danced' back over to her back, walking as gracefully as she could in two inch heels. Not bothering to take her bag off the hook, Ascella removed two boxes from the bag, even though the boxes were much larger than the bag itself, they still fit thanks to her enchantment on her bag.
One of the boxes was rather large. It was a circular box wrapped in white shimmery paper, adorned with a copper colored bow and ribbon. Simple, yet elegant. The other box was much smaller, about the size of a jewelery box, just without the velvet. It was wrapped the same way, but with copper colored wrapping, and a white shimmery bow and ribbon. Just the opposite, so they contrasted each other nicely.
I would think that he would get sick of all green and silver. Though, then again, maybe not.
Holding both boxes in her arms, Ascella went over to set them on the table, hopefully she wouldn't be the only one getting Kale a nice gift. Kale was the hardest person she could think to shop for. So, she got something she almost knew he would love. Or at least, she would love to see him with.
It took me all summer to save up for these. I hope he really likes them. Kale is so damn difficult to shop for, I had to think long and hard about these. They were even tailor customized! He is so spoiled.. If he has something like this already, I think I'm going to cry.
Shaking off her bad feelings, Ascella turned her attention back to the party, her smile back on her face. With Dexter's comment on livening up the punch bowl, and Vlaityn's comment about the beautiful home, Ascella knew that it would be a good day.
School starts soon, this will be the last time I go out...I have to make it good. Ascella felt slightly out of place in her dress, though, since it cost about a hundred dollars, and she never got to wear it before, Ascella had to have a use for it, so a party was perfect. Right?
"Kani, everything is perfect. Well, except for the guest of honor. You'd think he wouldn't want to miss his own party."

Chuckling into Dexter's chest before he gallovanted away; to return Ascella's hug and greet Vlaityn in his unique way, Kani smiled at her Hogwart's friends. "Please, don't mind him Vlaityn, he has a bit of a problem with keeping those he fancies secret. No need to feel as though you have to return his affection, he's a flirt." Kanita shot Dexter a fake glare as he dumped quite a bit of alcohol into the punch bowl. "Oi! Don't be daft Dex, you want to give all my guests alcohol poisoning? I mean honestl--DON'T YOU DARE OPEN THAT 2nd BOTTLE!" She gave him a hard stare to show she was serious. A bit of tipsy fun was all good, but drunk underagers wasn't something she wanted to deal with today.
Turning away, Kani leaned forward, kissing Ascella on the cheek, "Thank you Cella! Took quite a bit of time, but well worth it. And oooohhh, your dress is simply fetching!" Admiring Ascella's dress, Kani nodded approvingly. Then the older Ravenclaw turned to her fellow house mate, Vlaityn, with laughter in her eyes. "OH ho~ is that why? I simply thought I got stuck with the decorating because all my friends are lazy bums." The teasing was obvious in her light, joking tone as Kanita took Dexter's previous spot by Vlaityn, mimicing the boy's previous action of brushing Vlaityn's cheek, only to find herself in pleasant awe.
"VLAITYN! Oh you wretched sneak, what type of lotion do you use? Muggle or charmed?" Standing between Ascella and Vlaityn, she use her index finger to prode Vlaityn's arms enviously. About to turn to Ascella to poke her as well, wondering if perhaps she was the only one left out of the secret to unbelievably soft skin, Kani's attention was stolen away by the gifts in Cella's grasp. "Uh-uh-oh. What do you have there, hmmm? Wait--don't tell me. I'd much rather be taken by surprise along with Kale. Who, don't worry, will be here. I just gave him a different time to arrive. You know, so enough guests will be here to shock the snitches off Kale's boxers when he finally shows up."

At Kani's outburst of the condition of Vlaityn's skin, Vlaityn could only burst into peals of good-humored laughter. "Really dear. It just comes with being, oh how did Dexter put it? Oh, right! Ravishing." She drawled out slowly while striking a small pose. "It's quite difficult to maintain, wouldn't you know." Ending her haughty statement with a small flip her her hair, she turned back to Kani wish a relaxed grin. "And the occasional bottle of muggle lotion."
Slowly getting accoustumed to the new surroundings, Vlaityn considered Ascella's comment of Kale missing his own party. "Just imagine it. The birthday boy running off and leaving us all here. Hmm." Pondering on the (although unlikely) event, Vlaityn nodded slowly. "More drinks for us. Bottoms up?" Turning her head to the direction of the currently scheming Dexter, Vlaityn mouthed the words 'Two shot for me'. But of course she wasn't serious. Well, not entirely serious at least.
"Beautiful wrapping Ascella!" Vlaityn nearly squealed. She hadn't meant to over-react or look foolish, but the simple color combination of Kale's gifts did look splendid. Vlaityn's own gift to him paled in comparison, being nothing but a small, long, black box with a gray bow. 'I should have had Mom wrap it.'

Ascella gave a rather small laugh as she watched Dexter spike the punch. There is no way I'm drinking any of that. None at all. Not if I don't want my secret blown. As Kanita kissed her on the cheek, and commented on her dress and the effort of the party, Ascella couldn't help but smile. "Why thank you, it was my dress for Melanie's wedding. I was the maid of honor, and it was kind of expensive so i thought why not get some use from it." Or i was supposed to be the maid of honor.. The talk of Lotion made Ascella drift off into her own little world, nothing really made any sense to her, even though she did feel rather awkward in her dress. After a summer of T-shirts and Tank tops, wearing a rather low cut dress, even with spaghetti straps made her rather uncomfortable. "Well Vlaityn, if you do have soft skin, I would love to know the secret." Or, well, if you know how to get rid of bruises better, I would like to know that one much, much more. "Dexter! I'm not drinking that if you put alcohol in it! I've had enough of being drunk for a summer thank you!" And enough of being in the hospital as well. With a small laugh, Ascella walked over to one of the couches, taking a seat and crossing her dainty, yet beautiful pale legs across herself. With those two inch heels, Ascella didn't want to be on her feet for long at a time.

Dexter turned his puppy dog expression onto Kanita as she reprimanded him for going a bit over board on the punch bowl. Then he caught Vlaityn's telling look and nodded with a large grin. 'Ah, she's adventurous and daring as well. Wonderful!' Dexter's heart sang as he "Accio shotglass!" and poured the burning drink within, setting it on the table for Vlaityn to take, or not, as she pleases.
Staying out of the talk of beauty products and outfits, though he was, of course, intruiged, Dexter began chasing after a particularily blue firefly. After all, blue was his favorite color. And it just so happened that Dex already drank straight from one of the firewhiskey bottles (sneakily while the girls where conversing), so he acted on will. Wanting the beautiful blue glow in his palm. So that he could present it to Ascella, Vlaityn, Kani, or Kale, whomever he first came across once the magical insect was in his possession.

"So there I was mum, and then there she was, and then there laid the last cinnamon pepper-up candy cane. Well you know how much I love those things. And I mean, it was The Last One. You gotta understand that part, are you listening? Okay, so the old, greying hag started reaching for it. Sorry, I meant lady. And well I wasn't about to leave the store without buying Kale's present. Plus I had to scrounger in the couch for the change to even buy that candy cane, so I wasn't going to let the toothless old ha-lady get it. Honestly, how'd she think she was going to eat it? I don't think I saw one tooth in her entire mouth! And with that particular candy cane, you can't get the full blast of the pepper-up if you don't bite it. So it'd be a crime to allow the candy cane to go to waste, think of how sad it would feel, not being able to fulfill its destiny. So I haaad to leap forward and rescue the candy from her evil clutches. And Mother of Merlin, how she keep such a tight grip on the thing is beyond me. I mean...she's old. So that's why what was suppose to be just me snatching the treat from her turned into this full on tug-a-war. I wasn't trying to get into it with the lady. But anyways, that's why when you turned the corner I was..uhm..trying to relinquish her hold with..uh..means other than my two hands."
"Pip, you bit her wrist."
"BUT SHE WOULDN'T LET GO! And my hands were occupied!"
"Pippa, you bit that poor woman's wrist. It was absolutely, horrifyingly embarrassing and savage-like just to watch. There I was, thinking some other mother needed to control her daughter, when it turns out that daughter is MINE and that mother is ME."
"But muuum, it was The Last One, and I was getting it for Kale's birthday party. Which, by the way, you took the wrong turn." Feeley Darling gave an irritable sigh as she turned the eccentric looking, hippie-styled van around and headed down a long winding road towards the Doyle's home. Healthy looking palm trees and bright green grass overtook the surroundings, so that every lone flower stood out magnificently; whether it be red, blue, yellow or lilac. Fee couldn't help but roll her eyes as her daughter continued muttering in the passenger seat.
"Can't believe you made me let go. Did you see how smug the old hag looked. All triumphant, with MY candy cane. Ugh. Now the memory of her gooey gums slobbering all over it will forever torment my dreams..." Soon as the car began trailing downhill and the Doyle's roof was visible, Pippa's glazed eyes brightened. "I just hope he likes mint shockers. Horrible fall back gift."
"I'm sure he will. Now out, out."
Pippa hopped from the seat and pulled the pink-n-white polka-dot bag out with her. 'Oh goblin toes and squid feces, why couldn't that candy shop at least have had a more manly wrapping paper? What if the girlishness of it all turns Kale gay? I'm sure no one would appreciate that.' "Bye mum, love you. Tell da he better not forget me tomorrow again, I was suppose to go with him to work. Wanted to see the new creatures they confiscate." With that, Pippa leaned halfway back into the strong, incense smelling van to kiss her mothers smooth cheek before skipping up to the Doyle's door.
Able to hear the music outside, Pip figured no one would hear her knock, so she wandered in. Upon entrance, the fog made Pippa feel like twirling about, so the fog would swirl at her feet. But resisting, at least momentarily, the Hufflepuff instead continued into the room, following the music and voices. "Helloooooh?" The first person that caught Pippa's gaze was the dancing Dexter. Instantly, jealousy shot up her spine, but first Pippa made sure to see the hostess first. After all, dancing could wait...just a bit.
"GREETINGS! I've just survived the wrestling match of the century, but I'll spare you all the details," that 'wrestling match' was in actual fact the fight with the old witch, "So where's the birthday boy?" Shifting from foot to foot as she hid the gift behind her back, Pippa wanted to rid herself of the thing so she could begin dancing with Dexter. Who she was now eyeing enviously.

"I hate traveling by Floo powder..." Morgan frowned slightly as she took a pinch of the powder between her fingers. She tossed it into the large fireplace in front of her, glad to rid herself of its chalky feel but not at all looking forward to what was next. Shutting her eyes, she called out "The Doyle Estate", and stepped into the flames. Even with closed eyes, Morgan still got the spinning sensation. It wasn't that spinning that bothered her, it was the landing. Rather suddenly, her feet hit solid ground. Thankful that she had chosen to wear wedge heels, she skidded out of the fireplace.
The red-head smiled to herself in triumph that she hadn't toppled over. She busied herself by ridding her clothing and hair of ash. With hair pulled half up and curled, knee length, cerulean blue halter top style dress and heels, Morgan hoped she wasn't over dressed. She ran her fingers through the unfamiliar curls and looked around. The decorated estate was beautiful. It reminded her of her home in Romania with a Slytherin twist. With a smile, she gently caught one of the tiny fireflys between her hands.
It didn't appear that Kale had arrived yet. In fact there were only a handful of guests so far. Easily picking Kani out from the group, Morgan waved to her, freeing the little flashing bug. Walking lightly up to the Ravenclaw girl, the redhead smiled a greeting. "Hello, Kani. Thank you for inviting me." She nodded hello to the fellow Hogwarts students nearby.
