The agitated teenager placed the potted plant down on the table, observing its colorful leaves with a bit of interest. His sister had been shifting a multitude of the things all over the place today, moving them from her small and crowded room to a large and airy greenhouse that had been renovated just for this purpose. Pushing his hair from his face, he looked to his twin with a confused expression.
"You still haven't told me what these are for, Cap'," he sighed, cringing as she cracked her knuckles and crouched next to one of them, finger extended towards the leaves. She didn't reply, but smiled broadly after a moment, turning to him and standing, hand held precariously towards his face.
It was a miniature unicorn.
Or, something of the sort. He looked at the thing for a moment, not sure of what to say. It barely stretched the first two digits of her finger; were all of these plants full of these things?
"It's a uni," she replied cheerfully, carefully putting the tiny thing back into its plant, "All of them are."
It was dark outside now, and from around the corner Geist padded in, watching the teenagers with a wary eye before moving off to patrol the garden. Slash rolled his eyes at the dog. Why couldn't his sister keep -normal- pets?
From someplace on the table something mewed softly, and Capricorn reached in to pick it out. It was kitten-sized, spotted black and white. 'It's an adult,' she had told him once, 'Even though from his size you'd think he was just a baby.'
This whole business confused him, but he felt drawn into it. Someday... perhaps he would understand.
Welcome to their garden...
